I rented car from Wheego in Alicante recently. They are a total scam and I’m surprised that they are supported by both JET2.com & booking.com ? Just like all the other reviews, when I arrived to return car, some company representative came to check the car. She found immediately a single small hole barely visible to the eye. She found this tiny chip immediately & unless you know exactly where it was you would never be able to find it. But she weirdly went straight away to the tiny "damage ”. Then her aggressive boss a threatened to call the police when I took my own photos! I knew then I was being scammed. . I have been charged my entire 900 Euro deposit (to the penny) for this "damage" & JET2's Introduction to this recommend car hire company has been one of the worst care hire experiences ever, JET2.COM have refuse to help me! I will never use either of these companies again! BUYER BEWARE”
“Incredibly bad experience. We had an accident, luckily no one was hurt. The whole communication since then was a terrible disaster. For months they refused to give me any information about the case resolution, didnt give me any final invoice, used swearing language, saying things like "How can I remember all the customers who had accident with our cars :`(", they were lying about GDPR (saying they can give me the name of the insurance company because of GDPR), accusing me that I know that the same as they do, making all kinds of excusses that didnt even make sense and trying to make me feel guilty as much possible, so that I would feel intimidated and stoped. After months they completely forgot about it and didnt care at all. Finally I made them to write an email to an insurance company, which simply replied with their statement (if it was the real insurance company at all, because they never give anything to check their claims). It took was one email. Then they finally sent an invoice, claiming they already sent it, but they dont know when they sent it..., because they "have too much work". Only obstacles in an already stressfull situation.”

This is the worst car rental company I have ever dealt with. Do not, under any circumstances, book with ADDCAR in Sofia. They are a complete scam. Despite having legitimate insurance coverage brought from expedia, they demanded an additional 300 euros from us, claiming our credit card was not valid. When we refused to pay this ridiculous fee, they canceled our car rental without any notice, leaving us stranded with two young children in the peak of summer.
Even worse, they tried to pressure us into making a new reservation on the spot at an even higher rate. This is nothing short of a full-blown scam.

“AddCar is NOT a legitimate rental agency. I rented a car through them on Travelocity, which I thought only worked with reputable car rental companies. In very small print, their contract said I needed to call them at least 2 hours in advance of landing. However, I was on a plane and delayed so I wasn't able to do that. When I tried to use their online "check-in" portal - it kept giving me an error message saying that my reservation could not be found. So when I arrived in Vilnius a few hours later, and went to the car rental area - to my surprise there was no counter. They don't have any presence at all in the airport car rental area. I called them and they said that since I hadn't called them at the appropriate time, they were now in another city 2 hours away from Vilnius and that I could not get the car I had ALREADY paid for. They just left me high and dry, with no apology and no alternatives. and they had already charged my credit card so I basically paid to be stranded at the airport. They were the worst "company" I have ever done business with and I wouldn't be surprised if their portal purposely doesn't allow you to check in so they can justify cancelling your reservation without a refund. Bottom line is DO NOT USE AddCar.”

The insurance scam was twice the rental of the car itself and they refused to take our proof that we had the required insurance. They even refused to give us a ride back to the airport after we cancelled the vehicle. I contested with Economybooking.com and they refused to address the issue. Avoid both”

They refused to give us the car claiming that something is wrong with my credit card.
They told us the only way we could get the car is paying an extra 600 euro insurance for the car (which was more than double the rental price!) . We already payed for a full insurance (no risk) while making the reservation via booking.com but it did not matter. We could not get the car without paying the extra 600 euro. Not even after the customer service from booking talked with them.
Not to mention we were not the only one at the desk in this situation!
This is a scam. You should not do any business with this company.”

Pick up and drop off is done unprofessionally (my experience is at Vienna intl. airport) - done at a parking lot, or passengers drop off at terminal, not at a designated parking lot. This means that you are under pressure and can't inspect the car properly (and their rep want to leave ASAP and is impatient).
They pin on you fictitious damages (so make sure you have excess cover insurance).
Their customer service is poor.

“This company also goes by the name Colusa. I booked a car rental through “economybookings.com” for an ultra low rate of $40 for 5 days.
When I got to their Miami office, they forced me to get their insurance policy, even though I provided them with a copy of my insurance policy that had full coverage. They charged me additional fees of $180usd. The car they provided was a 15 year old kia that did not have automatic door locks (each door had to be manually locked) plus the windows had to be rolled up by hand. The car was in horrible condition. The value of the vehicle to buy outright was about $400.
They took a $350 “security deposit “ which they did not refund. They provided no reason for stealing my deposit. I received better treatment and service in 3rd world countries.
When I called to speak to them I waited on hold for 1 hour, after which they dropped the call.
Stay away from these theifs and bumbs.”

I recently rented a car from this company, and my experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Despite already having insurance, we were forced to purchase their expensive insurance. This extra cost was unnecessary and felt like a blatant scam.
Additionally, we had to pay a $1000 bond, which was not mentioned beforehand. Our offer to pay the bond in cash was rejected, and instead, we were coerced into paying for their useless insurance for the entire rental period. When we proposed to get the insurance for a few days and return to pay the bond for the remaining rental period, they declined and forced us again to pay for the insurance.
Throughout this process, both my friend and I tried to be flexible, but it was clear they were determined to squeeze every possible dollar out of us. They did not inform us about the necessary steps to take in case of an accident. Reading through other reviews, it's apparent that this company relies on deceptive practices and hidden clauses to take advantage of customers. For example, failing to call the local police after an accident means you're not insured, and the tires aren't covered even though the insurance costs a fortune.
Overall, I felt scammed and mistreated. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this rental company at all costs!”

“Terrible experience. Would never rent from them again. Used Addcar because they had such low rates but when we got there they insisted on levels of proof of insurance that I have never seen at any car rental agency anywhere. Even when we showed our insurance card and very high levels of insurance they still made us pay an amount equal to the entire rental of the car because one of our coverage levels was below the ridiculously high limit they arbitrarily made up. None of this was made clear at the time of online reservation, by the way -- they only tell you after you have taken not just one, but two shuttle busses to get to them since they are not really in the airport the way they imply they are. Absolutely never use this scam company!”
