I have ordered a dining table through this website (Briggs and Jones) site in December 2022, they have keep me waiting for 3 month making a same excuse that it’s due to custom clearance. After so many emails back and forth they agreed to pay my refund back. It’s more than a week and still no sign of refund in my account. Shall I wait bit more or speak to my lawyer to deal this so inconvenient and unprofessional business. Please think twice before you purchase anything from this website. Thanks

Dear M Pal Thank you for your review, I understand that you are annoyed to leave this review however this review is unfair. 1. Because you have been refunded. 2. The dining table is here ready to go and you have been given 1st refusal of the dining table at a discounted price.

Nightmare of a company to deal with. Very slow replies to emails and nobody is ever available over the phone, the only time they call you is when you have an item in the basket and they nag you to place the order asap (which I found bizarre and intrusive way of using my personal information BEFORE the order was completed). The item they claimed to have in stock online 'was faulty' and promised to re-order it asap and send it 8 working days past the due delivery date, only to later tell me it wouldn't reach me until the end of April. I didn't believe them as I have contacted the UK supplier of the particular table and they said they are not delivering this particular model until mid-April. So had they not cancelled my order, I would be still waiting... Till May the earliest. They did offer a '£50 goodwill refund' which is a joke for the level of inconvenience this is causing. Also, the transaction is processed by a company called Chic Paradis... I start to believe Briggs and Jones has no items in stock and orders them on demand. Read Google and yelp reviews - spare yourself the disappointment, frustration and long weeks of eating dinner crunched on your sofa.

I ordered my furniture nearly 4months ago. I did not get my order or money. Customer service is poor. They ignored my emails and phone calls. Today I got the answer that my furniture did not pass quality checks and the manufacturer dies not want to produce more. I waited 4 months to hear it. I requested a refund. I hope I will not have to wait fot it next 4 months.

Thank you Mariusz for your review. You ordered two items from the same range at different times. One of them you received successfully and everything was fine. On the second item when checked we did not feel that the quality was good enough to send it out to you. The item that you have received you are very pleased with and this is how we want customers to feel when they receive their furniture. The second item would not have given you the same pleasure as the finish was below standard and it was on my suggestion that a refund on that item may be a better option because we were not moving forward with getting a replacement with the manufacturer. I am extremely disappointed to see you have left a low review as this does not reflect the item that you are delighted with.

Don't buy anything from here if you live further than their doorstep. I placed an order that stated on their website that it was up to a two week delivery and would be delivered in time for Christmas. It was also confirmed via email. I then received an email to say it was delayed and that I would received it on the 22nd of December. I then received an email last night 11.05pm, 19th December, to say they were pulling their hair out over my order but it wasn't going to be delivered on time. The first excuse was due to the weather, even though I had received and continue to receive items further afield than them. No reason as to why I will not receive the order and no further delivery details. I was relying on the bed and furniture because I have guests coming to stay. Extremely disappointed is an understatement. Now waiting for my refund.

Thank you for your review however since you wrote this review you came back to us and said you want to keep the order so not to cancel. If we were that bad you would continue with the cancellation. I must also note that the advised delivery timescale on the range was 4-5 weeks however you only allowed us three weeks at a hectic time of year also. I did say I would try my best to get it for Christmas and did. I would also like to mention that this is a second purchase which indicates you must have been happy with the service received 1st time round in order to come back to us. I am undecided on whether I am going to fulfill your order or refund you at present as reviews is a key part for us. Leaving such reviews that is now a false review as you asked us to keep the order is misleading and makes us look bad. I am not sure I wish to supply our fabulous furniture to you at all.

I am extremely disappointed with my purchase, after taking the 4 hour round trip journey to Sheffield, to check out the furniture quality and seeing that it was good in their branch, I placed an order online. I paid extra to have the two units built up, so everything would be perfect, but when the goods arrived, granted they were well packaged and handled well on delivery, once opening them we found that not ONE of the eight doors on the units was in line/straight, every one of them hit each other at either the top or bottom which eventually would damage the units, this I'm hoping to be able to rectify myself (although I shouldn't have too), but the most annoying thing was the backing on both of the units is flapping about and in the middle, it bows out about 2 inches, no idea what I'm going to do with those! How they could let these units leave in this state is totally beyond me and definitely not good workmanship. The annoying thing is that you have to pay upfront. When I went to the branch that was one of the main things I looked for. I am not a person to complain about every little thing, but these units cost just under £1400 and I expected them to be of a good standard especially paying EXTRA to have them built. Initially, I received a phone call on the day of delivery from Naomi asking if I would accept one of the units with a handle missing, and she said she would forward it, which I refused. Then she called back to say that she had taken a handle off someone else's order and put it on mine. Whilst the delivery was on time, the courier was complaining about the cost to me, he could not speak very good English so he was hard to understand but I finally understood that he was not happy with the size of the units and the cost he had charged, I told him that he had to deal with Briggs and Jones if he had an issue, as it was nothing to do with me. Something that I was excited about has now been tarnished. The best result for me right now would be for Briggs and Jones to reimburse me for the assembly and I could get someone in to hopefully put it all right.

Dear Shelley Thank you for your review which I am very disappointed to see that after bending over backwards to ensure you received your unit on time without issue that you have left a negative review. There was a handle short and I found a solution to ensure that you could receive yours complete and on time, in fact we were ahead of schedule. Before ordering I did advise that the unit will be built up and that occasionally during transit as the unit travels it can cause misalignment as the units are rocking during transit. This can be adjusted in seconds by tightening the screw and customers do this happily and easily without issue. I am also extremely sorry and disappointed to see that instead of contacting us directly about the issue and asking us for a solution you have posted this review without giving us the opportunity to rectify things or maybe offer a partial refund of the assembly costs. This is not a very nice way of going about things and not a pleasant way to treat us as the units themselves are gorgeous, the misalignment has been caused as the unit rocks in transit. I understand that the units have misaligned and this is annoying however no mention of the great customer service you received and regular updates until you received your order. What is also disappointing is that you have given false information regarding your order as it was around £1,000. Based on the way you have acted I am unsure if this is an accident or intentional in order to be misleading. Very disappointing indeed bordering appalled to be treat in this manner.

BROKEN, Unreliable, Poor customer Service and customer care I'm having a very poor experience with this company today is 06/09/2022 and I ordered a TV Unit on 17/6/22. on Arrival not only was it poorly packaged but damaged inside. I have been promised a replacement after numerous attempts to get in touch with them, the customer service is poor, and I find them unreliable. I will NOT be using them again for anything.

Dear Shaz, thank you for your review. You received your unit promptly however the top was broken on arrival. A replacement was arranged and organised, we appreciate that the situation was very annoying because that was broken too. The damage was created in transit, had the part no been damaged in transit your order would've been completed in a timely manner. You requested a refund instead which was actioned immediately on request. An embarrassing situation for us to be in also when items get damaged in transit and we are sorry that things did not work out on that occasion.

We have ordered a table with them on th 10th of July because we knew delivery can take UP TO 6 weeks. Fair. But then closer to the date we got an email saying it should be ready by the end of August, which is a slight delay, but ok we were willing to wait a bit further. Mind you we moved to a new house and are without a dining table for a while eating standing like some farm animals. Its now September, so we asked for an update to see whats up, and we got told that theres an issue with the production and the table wont be finished until the 19th, and should receive it by the 31st of September. At this point we had enough and cancelled our order. What is this a furniture store or a Kickstarter project? You should have tables at the ready, not figuring out how to build one when customers order!

Thank you for your comments. The table was not released as expected as it did not pass the quality checks and some elements needed to be reproduced. This is not cause for a negative review, it would be unsatisfactory if we or the manufacturer tried to deliver to you in a sub standard condition. Our main objective is to provide customers with amazing furniture. The 6 weeks advised is a guideline and is usually quite accurate however no one can predict what might crop up along the way and any issues are dealt with when they arrive. Unfortunately not a pleasant customer to deal with and not respectful of the fact that the table was not released due to not passing quality checks. Instead of receiving a thank you for having their best interests at heart and choosing not to accept or deliver something that may not be up to standard instead they cancel and leave a negative review. The customer knew at the point of ordering that the table was made to order, not all furniture has to be ready built. If they were looking for a cheaply made ready stocked table this could have easily been sourced elsewhere, care is taken when building the tables which is why they are not released if the finish is anything less than pristine.

In response to your reply to my recent review we did not ‘ damage’ the item ourselves, it was very poor instructions with led to the item collapsing, had the instructions been in English and clearer ie shown which screws go where etc we wouldn’t of had an issue. I see on other reviews poor instructions are an issue that maybe needs addressing !! I have purchased a replacement of the item from somewhere else and we built it with no problem at all as the instructions were very clear and it did not collapse !!

Thank you The instructions are exactly the same wherever this item is purchased from as it is only produced by one manufacturer and they provide the same set of instructions to everyone, the table was damaged during assembly. I am sorry that we were unable to give you a free replacement, you could've ordered the part you needed at a discounted price. Knowing that this is your area and still continuing to use the review system to leave negative reviews when you are at fault is more than unfair.

I would give 0 stars if I could, Couriers kept giving me different ‘delivery dates, eventually delivered which I had to keep chasing up as I was not kept informed, a piece was damaged and rubbish built instructions, which we’re not clear at all and due to this my item is unusable so I’ve wasted money on this very regrettable purchase !! once you’ve purchased they don’t help you, after-sales is very poor. I will NEVER purchase from them again !! Extremely disappointed

The dining table was fine when it was delivered however the customer damaged the dining table herself when assembling. The customer admitted that she had damaged the dining table herself and is not happy as I advised the dining table cannot be replaced for free if she has damaged it herself during the build. Not an unreasonable thing to say and very disappointed to see that the customer has abused the review system as a result of not getting her own way. It is not fair to damage something and expect to get a replacement for free although we would have been happy to supply replacement parts at a discounted price. This is like burning your dinner during cooking and going back to the supermarket asking for free replacements because you've just burnt your dinner by mistake, it is a totally unreasonable request and tried to help the best we could but as we would not replace completely free customer has left a negative review.

Took longer then expected to arrive, to only receive wrong colour chairs. Quite disappointed with the service side of things as they don’t really update you. You have to keep calling or emailing for answers

Dear Akimah I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the service you have received. Yes you did receive your order 3 days later than the expected delivery time. From what I can see any communication has been responsive and accurate. It is disappointing that you have left a one star review due to receiving your items 3 days late although we do understand that receiving the wrong colour chairs must be frustrating.

Thank you Peter for your review, on our end we did everything that we could correctly. We appreciate and understand that the courier changed the delivery date however that was out of our control as the couriers changed the delivery date. We are extremely sorry about that.

Awful products and poor customer service. We paid £500 for a table from here and it turned up randomly a week later- we had no idea it was being delivered on that day and the driver said that if we would not have been home, it would have been sent back to London. When it turned up the base was badly damaged- every corner had paint missing. We got in touch with the company and they said they would send a replacement but we would have to dispose of the damaged base ourselves. It took them 6 weeks to send out a new base following several more emails ( which were ignored) and phone calls. When I did eventually get to speak to someone, they had the part in stock and had to instruct a different company to deliver. Not once was any money deducted from the order for the inconvenience. Do not waste your hard earned money on this company.

Dear Charlotte Thank you for your review. Your table is now complete and you are happy with your purchase. We agree that the courier service was not very good and selected an alternative courier to perform the delivery of the replacement base. It is unfortunate that the original base was damaged in transit. When the part you needed came back into stock it was dispatched to you immediately and sorry that there was a delay with it being dispatched. Everything is now as it should be and you can enjoy your purchase.

I ordered a dining table on 16 June 2021 and was advised there was a 6 week delay due to covid, I agreed to this and continued to wait. It has now been 12 weeks with no further confirmation as to when the delivery will be able to be completed, if at all. It’s a shame because Briggs and Jones has such nice looking and quality furniture, but wait times are ridiculous - you will be waiting indefinitely. Not recommended if you are ordering for an empty apartment like me.

Dear customer, please contact us with your order information. We have checked our records and do not have any outstanding table deliveries from this date ( 16th June), all have been fulfilled we have also not received any emails from any customers requesting an update on delivery for any orders over this date. There has been delays accross the board and we do our best to keep customers updated, as soon as we have an update we update. There has been extended delays on some items and we have sincerely appreciated our customers faith and patience on the matter as we plug on through these testing times. Even stores are having issues re stocking their shelves, we are doing the best we can to turn orders around, not all items are affected. If you could supply your order number we can look into this for you as there is nothing outstanding for the 16th.

3 months waiting for TV stand, should be delivered within 6 weeks and finally…didn’t get. If not my phone call and email probably still nobody would have contacted me about my delivery. Lady on the phone said they didn’t realise they are not doing free delivery to my area and the next day I got mail if I want to pay extra for delivery or refund. I chose refund. Didn’t want nothing more with this company. I was wondering how long I’ll be waiting for my money back but I was ignored and didn’t get a answer back. One positive thing they sent money very quickly. I feel very disappointed with this company and how they treated customers. Don’t recommend!

Thank you for your review Monika, free delivery is for Mainland UK only. At the checkout you selected free delivery although there is the option to request a shipping quote if outside Mainland. As you are outside Mainland UK and are based on the offshore Islands free delivery is not possible. You was sent an email asking if you wanted to us to get a shipping quote. Free delivery should only be selected if in Mainland UK, it is unfair to incorrectly select free delivery and leave a negative review because we are unable to ship for free to your area and you do not wish to pay the shipping costs to your area.

Absolutely awful company! Waited My months and months for the £700 worth of chairs! And they were delivered to another address! . The colour of the chair wasn’t what was shown on the website. Two different chairs on the website had the same picture on it. Now I have to pay for delivery as I didn’t receive my items on a pallet. I have to pay £50 to send them back with a pallet delivery company which I had to find, as well as pay for a pallet even though I wasn’t sent one with my chairs! The company used a white glove which just dropped my chairs without one! Avoid using this company. They will not help you if you are not happy with your purchase! You will be left out of pocket if returning!

Thank you for review. We did not advise that you "had" to use a pallet courier but that it was a better option to avoid any damage in transit. It is easy to return items to us as you discovered and we understand that customers may change their mind if they feel that things are not a good match. We do not advise that we cover deliver costs for returns and demonstrate clearly in the terms and conditions that any returns are at your own costs. It is not often that items are returned to us because our customers are generally happy but customers that do wish to return, return without issue.
