“Staff were welcoming when I arrived. I thought the optician Sarah was excellent. She made me feel relaxed, asked key questions and explained everything clearly. I would say it was by far the best eye examination I have had. I think it would have been better if I had been given the option to return at a different time to choose my frames. My eyes are very sensitive and although Sarah gave me weaker drops I struggled to see clearly & felt my concentration wasn’t good. The coffee was much appreciated. My preference is for simple styles and I felt the choice was very limited. When choosing the frames I wasn’t made aware of the price & had to ask for lens prices to be read to me. I felt the total cost was expensive as I usually have about 4 pairs in different locations. I would also have preferred to have someone with me to help me in my choice. I will be more prepared next time.”

The actual exam was excellent too, the optician really explained in detail everything they were doing and seeing throughout my exam, all on modern equipment and very thorough. And when my baby started to fuss one of the team even walked her around the office so I could finish my appointment without distraction, thank you 🙏
I didn't have time for the consultation to find the perfect frames (fussy baby, remember), but they were happy to book me in for another day and asked me some of my likes and dislikes so they could make sure they'd have frames in from their other stores that they thought I'd like. Looking forward to it!”
“This was my first visit to Clelland & Boyd and received a warm welcome along with the offer of a hot/cold drink. I had a full eye examination and everything was explained clearly and concisely. I have never experienced such a deep discussion over choosing frames and really appreciated it. There is such a wide choice of bright colours and shapes which is fantastic. I also didn’t feel pressured into choosing the most expensive or made to feel bad for going for less expensive frames and lenses. The whole experience was really positive and would recommend.”
“The staff are excellent and can't do enough for you during the visit...just a pity that my distance glasses lens have gone wrong at the same place on each lens and it can't be explained what has happened to them, They will need to be replaced and they are only a few years old, Just a bit confused on why the coating is coming off.”
