While this back pack can be used as a personal item, but it could be a bit bigger. With the water bottle holder being tucked inside, it takes up valuable space . I would much rather have the bottle in an outside pouch. Improvements could be outside daisy chain loops to attach carabiner clips. Good padding on shoulder straps.

Not the worst, not the best. I was given an Amazon option, which just gathered my information from Amazon, it did not give me Prime shipping, no benefit there. With that option, I was not given the option of an expedited shipping, as I have read, that is an option with other shipping options. Day Owl used UPS, the absolute worst shipping service for customer service. UPS has no customer helpful customer serice. I could see my item was on the truck and to be delivered that day. UPS delayed delivery 2 or 3 days after it was put on the truck and it was out for delivery. They have no way to get a hold of them except the general 800 number where the reps can only tell you its out for delivery. And while the item showed up "within" acceptable delivery timeframes, it was not acceptable to me to be told it was out for deliver and then not delivered for days.Day Owl could care less about this.

The backpack is great, but I was disheartened to receive my package in plastic. I thought your mission was sustainability? Very poor presentation.

Hi Marta, Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. Your feedback is very important to us. Let me start by saying we totally get it!! We HATE clear plastic polybags, but we need a waterproof way to be able to get the product to our customers without it being destroyed during transportation. And the packaging industry isn't full enough of options yet. The balance we're striking is finding something durable enough to hold up to the mail but cheap enough to not have to raise the price for the customer. The bag is well made, but much more shallow then I expected looking at reviews and photos. This is a bag for someone who carries real basic things, and not a great every day carry for someone with laptop, notebooks, pouches. I picked this model based on my height and some reviews. I was disappointed that I couldn't exchange it for the larger size and pay the difference, as now I have a bag I will never use and don't want to buy the large bag (and end up paying for 2 bags). Costumer service was nice, but it was frustrating in the end.

I first purchased the slim backpack, but it was too small for my needs. The exchange process to get a regular backpack was very easy and both of the backpacks I ordered came quickly. However, I'm giving three stars because (1) the regular backpack could not be adjusted to be small enough to fit my torso (I'm average height for a woman) and (2) I was charged a $7.00 handling fee for returning. It's disappointing that there is a handling fee for a regular return to get your money back, but not a $7.00 fee if you opt for store credit... very frustrating. If there's a handling fee for a regular return, please just have a standard handling fee for all returns.

As a whole, I like the backpack that I received from Day Owl. It was clean and came as described without any notable flaws. After receiving the backpack, however, I found out that the used backpack - which I paid $37.00 for on Day Owl - retails new for under $20 on Amazon and even less than that for a used version. While I would much rather support a company like Day Owl over Amazon, it was a little disheartening to realize that I did not receive a great value. This is really more on me for not doing more research on the product I was purchasing, but I would tell people to look at other avenues for used backpacks in order to get more 'value.'

I love this bag, the way it was packaged, and quickly sent. However, I had one unexpected issue after the first use. The adjustable straps only can be shortened to a certain extent, as they loop instead of having loose ends. As someone who is 5'3, the shortest that the strap can go is still too big for me. I wish the straps were designed with enough leeway to be adjustable for someone with a petit figure, so that the bag hung where I would like it to on my back.
