“Two direct debits set up. One as GC re Homeshield and the other as BPS re Homeshield. I called them for an explanation and told them to make sure the call was recorded. No explanation given and refused to get a manager to call me back. Quite obviously a scam operation assuming older people are unable to check. Disgusting behaviour!!!!”
“I contacted your Company today and was most disappointed with the response.
We have several items covered but when I asked for an appointment to come and examine our faulty cooker I was told it wasn't covered. I argued that it should be but was rather impatiently told that it was cancelled in Sept. 2024. I was at pains to say that it should only have been a transfer to another cooker but it was only pointed out that this could not be covered as it was not brand new. I pointed out that I had not been told this but I was told that I was and that nothing could be done. I really feel this was a very unsatisfying communication and will think twice before dealing with your company or recommending you to anyone else.”

“I ran them to request them to send an engineer to fix my washing machine after 20 months. They told me I have to pay for callout charge. I asked why.. they told me I had a new cover policy after the last washing machine was replaced. Hence i need to pay for call out charge!!! Why bother to have a policy then? I am calling to cancel my policy and have my bank to block them.”
“Conned into paying a year and supposedly being covered for 2 years after that however due to appliance breaking down I then get told to pay remainder of my plan and pay for delivery of appliance and would need to pay extra for removal of old and installation which I was led to believe was included . I also tried to complain about various things like getting repairs booked in a timely manner and general poor service which I felt wasn't acknowledged by Lauren and believe this lady needs to go on a customer service course as she clearly has no idea or skills to deal with customer complaints.”

Called me on 01273033970 claiming to be "HomeShield Direct" asking me about a washing machine. I called them back and another person picked up the phone and reeled off the same phishing bs.
Do not answer. Just block and report the number. I'm filing a police report as this is illegal.”

“Having been with them since 2022 for a washing machine, fridge and freezer, had few repairs to washing machine then they replaced it, all good I thought, new machine went wrong, after 8 weeks phoned them not covered. Then the seal had gone in the fridge and the freezer kept freezing shut so we couldn't open it thought get them both sorted together to save delivery twice to be told as we live on a farm they are classed as commercial use. Both appliances came from Curry's ordinary. So if you are living in the country not close to town or shops and have a good size fridge or freezer for your family you will be discriminated by them. Rang them several times to sort it out, to be told the plan is cancelled "I'm no long with them.." feel totally let down and scammed.”
“Have been paying monthly for cover on washing machine for about last 6/7 years washing machine broken and not repairable i contacted them this morning to be told i can't claim the lady on the phone didn't even ask me my name policy number so I told her to cancel it she said its cancelled how can this be when she didn't even take the name also found my last letter with policy details should have been paying 7.14 per month they have been taking 10.49 so been over charging me i am now reporting this to trading standards not happy at all and will be reporting to any other place that I can discusting behaviour and obviously need staff who know what they are doing.”

Also my sister at the same address who has Altzhimers got her to pay for an electric cooker, she had a gas cooker . Have cancelled payments, you've set them up again. They terminated my call this morning when I asked to speak to manager or complaints as I wouldn’t go away. My husband just died and they still setting up in his name. “Letter received at my elderly mothers address, thanking her for renewing her policy. My mother does not have the JVC television the policy lists. Not helpful when called to complain simply stated that she agreed to it. Mum is an elderly vulnerable person and did not agree to anything. Nasty dirty cold callers preying on people.”
“I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I have received from HomeShield Direct. They sold me an insurance policy under false pretenses, claiming that my current care plan with Curry was expiring and that they were replacing it. Now, they are saying that they are actually extending the factory warranty of my supplier, despite the fact that my appliances are 6 years old. They have deceived me, and to make matters worse, they are now contacting me and trying to shift the blame onto me for not cancelling the policy sooner. It is clear that HomeShield Direct is running a scam, so I urge everyone to be cautious when dealing with them.”
“They called me and implied I had a plan with them and they were popping renewal docs in the post . I smelt a rat and discovered they were in fact cold calling

“Really bad customer service and bad communication !!!! arranged my daughter to be at my home for washer mending from 9.15 while we were on holiday gave engineer her number and to contact as we wouldn't be able to answer phone, got a message on my phone saying they would be here 7.15 to 10am even though I said i couldnt answer. On the day he rang my daughter and said he was at our home it was 8.15 she asked him to wait till 8.30 as she asked neighbour if they would take her kids to school, he said no!!! and to arrange another call out, he said to order a part as he thought it was the drum and if he waited he wouldn't be able to do anything anyway. When I came home i rang for another call out and to order the part, the woman that answered said we missed a call out and had to pay £114 before they would do anything she wouldn't listen at all and kept repeating the same thing even though I said I had arranged the time with them. She said it was an automated message and I didn't response, my daughter said she tried ringing twice but no one answered. They wouldn't listen to the phone call where we arranged for the engineer to ring my daughter, they suspended my policy and said THEY WOULD TAKE IT FURTHER absolutely disgusting I had paid the policy for 6 years and never had one call out.”
