About Jaques of London:
In 1795 Thomas Jaques took on his 15-year-old son, John as an apprentice. Together they established ‘Thomas Jaques: Manufacturer of Ivory, Hardwoods, Bone and Tunbridge Ware’ in Hatton Garden. We have remained a family run business ever since, with the same unwavering passion for quality games and toys.

Today we are ever-expanding our toy range and have been honoured with over 10 awards in the past five years as a result. Our Mini Minds Hub launched in 2020 to encourage learning at home. This is now stocked with over 150 free resources. We’ve been working for over 230 years to fill the world with more joy and we hope to keep striving for that goal long into the future. “Jaques shopping is a very different experience. I do like to visit shops but shopping online with Jaques feels very similar. It's personal. The toys hark back to an era where quality was important. Traditional toys made from ethical materials are important to me and my children and grandchildren treasure them. One of my grandchildren has autism so the feel of toys and the emotional attachment to his toys is so important. He likes order when playing and many of your toys particularly support the growing number of children who have similar needs. He is getting older now and I would love to see a few more games and toys for the tweeny age group of 11-15s. We love the care and attention given to the packaging, the little ribbons and boxes that can be repurposed. I have just discovered the Resources section on your website, full of creative and unusual activities.I have printed some off to make a book of ideas that I can put in the children's Christmas Eve boxes for added excitement. The loyalty code system is brilliant as it makes me feel valued and the little free gifts of playing cards and ping pong balls (along with the ping pong ball game ideas) will delight my little ones. It's all about trust really and I trust these lovely gifts to bring joy into my family for this generation and hopefully many to come. I wish all at Jaques continued success. You value your customers and we value you.”

“I only recently discovered this Company when a friend gave me 2 toys for my Grandson. They have been loved by her Grandchildren, but looked after and still have their original packaging. I had great fun choosing a gift for my Great-Niece (18 months) and settled on the Farmyard, as she loves animals and it comes with a book. I will definitely be back again.”

“i love all the products . they are well made , deliver quickly and are of great educational quality also . i love the fact it is a british company and family run for many years . the items i have bought for little ones have always been well received and are long lasting . not a play one day , ditch the next but brought out over a long period of time .”

“I bought a chess set and dominos as Christmas gifts for my grandsons having purchased chess sets in the past and having been delighted with the quality and value for money. Jaques wood toys are good quality and come well packaged in a neat card board box with livered navy blue ribbon. Really a nice things to give as a gift or a treat for yourself.”

“We ordered 2 double packs of canasta cards. Both double sets arrived with mis-printed backs. Why then five stars? Well immediately on notifying Jaques replacements were sent and have just arrived. Obviously I sent photographs of the offending articles but there was no quibble, no need to return faulty first sets. Top customer service, and as we all know mistakes can happen - it's how you put those mistakes right, hence 5 stars to Jaques. Besides that we've been using an original set/s for a couple of years now and the quality of cards far exceeds others we've used in the past. I'd have absolutely no hesitation in recommending these cards to other potential users.”

“I am very satisfied with Jaues of London. I have purchased a lot of toys from them and they are absolutely brilliant as is the service. I will always use them for children's gifts as they are very well made all from wood and the packaging is tip top, also the delivery is very good.
