About Mike's Dive Store:

Mike’s London Dive Store may have been established for more than thirty years but its history goes back much further than that. It’s founder, big Mike Calder, was the super-salesman at a dive store in Fulham Palace Road in West London. A local lad who was larger in life than in so many ways, he was so successful at serving divers with the equipment that suited their needs best that people beat a path to his door from all over the country.

Mike was a diver and he believed that if his customers were satisfied they’d return. He took the long view. He was eventually so successful that other dive shop owners even protested he was distorting the market.

It was inevitable that he would set up in business for himself and with the help of a local friend started selling dive equipment from a warehouse at Richmond’s waterside. Eventually he moved the business to the more accessible premises it is in today.

Mike was a giant of the UK’s diving industry in many more ways than one and all who knew him were shocked when he was suddenly taken from us long before his time, in 2009.

Still in his early teens, Scuba Steve started diving in the Sinai in 1989, in the days when Red Sea liveaboard operations were truly pioneering. He accompanied skipper Jan Ellingsen on Colona IV on a 1200 nautical mile trip down to the Sudan and learned to dive on the way. A few exciting encounters with grey reef sharks and he was hooked.

He worked alongside Mike and purchased Mike’s Dive Store when it became available. Mike’s son chose to sell to Steve because he could see that Steve had the same passion as his dad for scuba diving and was confident that he would carry on the tradition of good service and advice from a position of a wealth of knowledge very much as his dad had done.

Mike’s Dive Store is not about shifting boxes of product but having the patience to understand the particular needs and wishes of every one of its individual customers. That’s you!

There are very many aspects to the underwater world and Steve has seen most of them. He instils in his staff this philosophy to only sell the right tools for the job and many of the currently regular customers will tell you that it was Mike sold them their first set of diving equipment. Mike may have passed away but Mike’s Dive Store is alive and well, and Scuba Steve is carrying on the traditions that Mike established for it.

We went to Mike's to buy most of our kit as newly qualified divers. The staff were really patient and helpful and we've been enjoying our new adventures with the kit. A few months later, the strap of my dive computer was faulty. I contacted Mike's dive store with a video of the issue, and they kindly contacted the manufacturer and sourced a replacement strap on my behalf. Nish kept in close communication with me through this. I am looking forward to my next shop at Mike's!

I'm very happy. My computer has a factory defect. Not your fault... it happens. Of course was under warranty so they send it to aqualung. And this could be the end of the story, but three weeks later I was going on one month dive trip. My computer still wasn't fixed. mike's dive store took care about me. With no question, for free, they give me better and more expensive model to don't leave me with nothing. Well done guys!

They use royal mail tracked 48 which means you won't know when, or if, your item will arrive! Not worth using them and for this reason, after many orders, I will be using Aquanauts

I've ordered most my dive stuff from here, and on twice I've made a mistaken whilst ordering. Both times, customer service has been really easy to contact on WhatsApp, replying quickly and going above and beyond to rectify. Highly recommended

The seller just wants to sell you something instead of helping and advising. I explained him that I need fins for snorkeling and shallow freediving which can fit in hand luggage to travel light. Instead he sold me the scubapro go travel. Which is perfect for scuba but useless for what I wanted. They have a positive buoyancy thus requred additional ankle weights 300gr each. Also for my weight, hight and weak legs they are huge. Feels like pieces of boards attached to my legs. That I relised on first day in the sea. My holiday ruined. I was not able to use this fins.

I bought a wetsuit from Mike’s Dive Store a few weeks ago, went on holiday & did 9 dives. When I was packing the wetsuit to come home I noticed that 3 of the wrist/ankle seal seams were coming unglued. When I got home I took photos & sent to Mike’s Dive Store - I got a reply from Jenna the same day. I’ve had to send the wetsuit back as it was under warranty - Jenna was very helpful & made the whole process easy. Whilst I am disappointed that there was a problem with the wetsuit I was very impressed with the customer service I received.

Great service from Mikes Dive store, finding the right dive gear is important, especially fitment. We’ve visited the shop before and had ordered online before as we are not local to the shop. This time we ordered our wetsuits and some other gear online, it arrived quickly and loved the eco friendly packaging, however after trying on the wetsuits we had to return one wetsuit due to the size/fitment for my wife being a small/extra small person! Our returns were swiftly dealt with by Jenna in customer services, she made our returns process really quick and easy with no stress, she was very helpful and made the whole process seamless. As soon as the items were returned we were instantly refunded the same day, what a service! The whole customer experience, with good service and prices will make us purchase again from Mike’s without hesitation. Now we can enjoy our well deserved holiday to the Maldives with our new gear! Thank you guys,

Phoned Mike's Dive store as needed a BCD urgently, 3 days before a trip. Was already passed their next day delivery service cut off time, by about an hour. They had the item in store and managed to get it out for next day delivery, amazing service and great staff. Thank you.

Great service from Mikes Dive store. Very quick delivery. Unfortunately, by my mistake , I ordered the wrong thing. The returns & refund process was equally efficient the refund being issued the day they received the returned parcel. 10/10
