“products and service are all good but disappointing to br hit with additional charges for customs and broker fees on delivery. these should be set out at dale point to inform decisioning.”

Hi Conor, Thank you for the 4* review !! I am very pleased to hear that the products and services were good and met expectations. However, I completely understand the inconvenience of the import fees and the broker fees, they can bump the overall freight charge up to an expensive amount. With the delivery address being in Northern Ireland the VAT % is not set by the UK but by the Northern Ireland customs department based on their regulations and we have no influence over this. The courier service then adds a sort of service fee on top of the overall amount, which increases the overall cost. We are working on ways to bring these fees down for our overseas customers, there is information on this across the website but I will suggest putting some information in the checkout procedure rather than before. “Hi there All ok with the parts,being very precise but had some problems with extra fees and charges by DHL in Greece... It is like it is though, and is becoming more and more complicated to bring parts outside EU. Dimitrios”

I completely agree that since Brexit and the coming times that importing goods outside and even within is becoming increasingly more expensive and complicated. “Impressed with prompt delivery, I received the items within 10 days of ordering at my home address in New Zealand. While I don't expect to be installing them for some time (spares) they certainly look like they will fit as expected.”

Hi There, Oh No ! I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the customs charges. I agree they are extremely frustrating and expensive. Since Brexit in the UK all import charges have made a dramatic increase. The % amount charges is set by every retrospective countries government in this case France. We have no influence over this amount and receive no part of it, UPS further add a sort of service fee on top of the VAT bill bumping the price up. We are working on ways to combat the high import fees to our overseas customers but we do recommend for shipments from the UK to EU countries choosing FedEx as your courier for EU destinations. FedEx includes Pre-Paid VAT in their shipping prices, ensuring that no additional fees are incurred at French customs. In contrast, couriers like UPS and DHL do not include Pre-Paid VAT and may charge an administrative/service fee for collecting the VAT, which will be added to the overall cost. “I’m rebuilding a Volvo Penta MD2020. I’ve ordered parts twice - from Cape Town, South Africa. For both orders, parts were shipped same day as ordered - judging from messages received from DHL. Parts arrived within 4 working days. (Biggest delay is at South African customs.) Even with import tax in SA and shipping costs, Parts4Engines prices were generally 40% cheaper than I could source parts for in Cape Town. I’m super pleased.”

HI Riaan, Wow ! Thank you for the fab review I am so happy to read this. It is amazing to read that our parts are being purchased all the way in South Africa and are serving you successfully. We do indeed aim to dispatch same or next day as we know as boat lovers waiting weeks for parts can cause costly and inconvenient delays. Import duties can be extremely frustrating and expensive but I am glad that you still found the pricing competitive, we are currently working on solutions to make import duties as low as possible.
