“It's been a couple of weeks it's going well so far. There are some peculiarities with the way app installation and update works, but it might just be a case of getting used to it.”

“Good product. Phone was overpriced. Some glitches here and there with updates. Customer service very helpful with what they can help with. Many of the apps I’d like haven’t been approved (yet). Good stepping stone from Gabb to real smartphone.”

“We had a few small issues with one of the phones but nothing that a chat with CS didn't take care of. We have recommended Pinwheel to all our friends with young kids. I'm sure the platform will only get better. Thank you for providing a great solution for parents regarding cell phones, since as much as we say our kids won't get them when they're young...it is just part of our culture now.”

“I appreciate the ability to turn features on and off. Some aspects of it have been cumbersome, but it is also 2 years old. I purchased for my daughter when she was 11 and am purchasing another one for my son who is 11.”

“Overall the system is a great way to monitor and control your child's device. I love that he has to have approval to add new contacts and that we can easily restrict app access when needed.”

“It’s a little cumbersome trying to navigate the OS if not very familiar with what I think android platform is. Make me appreciate my iPhone much more. When the kids grow out of the pinwheel we will definitely be buying iPhones for them.”

“I am having a hard time signing up with mint mobile because they only activate the phone and account with text messages. Because of the pinwheel software we cannot get unauthorized text messages. I’m surprised you recommend them as a mobile carrier. The location tracking has been slow and not always accurate. We would like more wallpaper options.”

“Love the parental monitoring, but really wish you offered a smaller phone that isn't crazy expensive. We ordered the slim and the phone is huge for a 13 year olds hand. It doesn't fit into his pocket, so it's hard for him to take it places. Would love a smaller phone so it's easier for a kid to hold and carry.”

“The system is good overall. However, it is a major miss that there is no option for monitoring or limiting phone time (total and by app). If I had realized this ahead of time, we would not have gone this route.”

“I think Pinwheel is just fantastic. I love the fact that my kids can have a smartphone, but without unfettered access to the internet and all the pitfalls that come with it. I like being able to see what my boys are texting with their friends and being able to adjust who can send the pictures. I only give four stars because not all of the apps that I would like them to have aren't always reviewed by Pinwheel or don't tend to function well. All-in-all, Pinwheel is a great phone for parents who want their child to have a phone, but not have all the functionality that comes with a smartphone.”

“I love it mostly! My one complaint is you can’t “ping” the phone to find it. Also the GPS tracking is slow and not always accurate. Other than that we’ve loved it so far! I love how I can give more freedom and apps to my older and less to my younger child and can customize the phone”

“Love everything about it except the app selection. There need to be more popular apps for parents decide if their kids should have access to them. YouTube kids, Netflix, Disney+, etc”

“Pinwheel is great! But the use of apps can be a little hard to deal with sometimes. Pinwheel allows me to download some apps onto my child's phone but then the app doesn't work on the phone. It's confusing why some apps are reviewed and allowed to be downloaded (i.e. Spotify) with known risks, yet other apps (like ESPN or some news apps) have not been reviewed or allowed. Also, the app request button seems a little misleading. It seems like I can request apps for my child but those apps may never be added to the phone. Apps like a smart switch and some banking apps with little-known risks are not easily added.”
