“It is nice to know we have visibility and control over what content our child can access through Pinwheel.”

“We love pinwheel for the most part however I would like more control over what apps I add to my child’s phone. Some of them that I request have a hard no that I can’t even authorize. Otherwise I love the peace of mind of knowing that she can’t receive links and videos and pics from those other than the ones I’ve provided permission to.”

“I love Pinwheel, it really gives parents total control and also has SO MANY apps that I want my kids to have. It is a little clunky somtimes though. The chores ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO BE disconnected form the modes. It's ridiculous that that hasn't happeend yet. ALL parents want chores disconnected from modes. And the phones themselves often don't download correctly, etc. HOWEVER, tech support/custimer service is awesome, and they have always fixed out issues when they arise. We really do love Pinwheel and I tell everyone I know about it.”

“I'm so grateful that Pinwheel is a phone option for my teens. It's not perfect, but it works great for our needs. It's nice to not have the option to allow social media on their phones. Even if I had a moment of weakness and they talked me into allowing it, I couldn't. I also love that I don't have to worry about them turning in their phones to me at night since everything shuts down at the time I set. That's one less thing I have to remember each day and it's wonderful!”

“We've really enjoyed our experience with Pinwheel. Our daughter hasn't, but that's because she wants more than we're willing to give. We appreciate that the device can "grow" with her.”

“This is a good first phone for a kid. But there are some areas of frustration that make me want to pull the plug and move on. We have had multiple issues with loading apps. The phone locked us out asking for a passcode design that we never set up. And I do want to be able to have control over who my son has in his contacts if a group of friends wants to have a group chat and just one of those are not in his contacts he is excluded from the chat by the pinwheel program.”

“I ordered the pinwheel phone per a recommendation from a friend who uses one. My family of five use iPhones but my child has found a work around all the settings and tries to access adult content. I payed rush shipping and received the pinwheel phone for my child to have a phone to use for while I am out of town. I wanted it to be safe and zero access to the internet. After about a hour of having the phone turned on I found a loophole to access the internet. This was not through a third party downloaded app as I did not download those. This was through a privacy policy link under a tab in settings. Normally I’d be quick to return something with this kind of problem but instead I reached out to the company. They were so prompt and treated this issue as an urgent matter. I received a call from Ralph their lead and was told he had solved the problem and closed the loophole. This was less than 10 hours after they opened for the day. I felt very heard and was very impressed. I have been waiting years for iPhone to fix some of the problems in parental controls and settings and pinwheel took less than a day. Thank you Ralph and to the engineers for taking this matter seriously and finding a solid fix so my child is safe. Because of how this was handled I would absolutely recommend this company! If you buy a phone and find any problems reach out to their customer service and they will help you quickly.”

“Pinwheel is a great child-safe device option. I liked the Caregiver Portal and how it keeps control options in one place. I also liked the location feature, which allowed me to see where my kid is. My only complaint is it was a little confusing getting family members authorized to call/text/send photos, and the app selection can be limited. Overall, I would recommend Pinwheel if you are looking for a safe device option for your kids with a highly curated app selection.”

“I have really appreciated the functionality of Pinwheel. My reason for not giving 5 stars is because the app often runs fairly slowly and I have had trouble with it updating my kids’ locations for several hours. I had one teen travel out of state and it stopped updating his location entirely. With these fixes, Pinwheel would be ideal.”
