“I love shopping with Portugal Vineyards. Which is better, prices or quality? Well, I guess quality always comes first. I really rate the wines. Some are now firm favourites. But they are delivered to my door for £5 or so a bottle! Service is efficient. Never had a problem and the odd question has been dealt with quickly and politely. So, a perfect set up.”
“Two failed deliveries to London of Ginja - the first time it wasn't their fault, the goods arrived in London and the courier lost them. The second time, I placed the order, nothing happened for 10 days and when I finally got through to them, they admitted that they had no inventory and still hadn't received any. At least they admitted their error quickly and cancelled the orders, but from a customer's perspective, they're completely dysfunctional.”
“The wines I love, so different from the usual merlot, shiraz, grenache, etc, all that we have had from Portugalvineyards has been special, and at a good price.
However there is no such thing as a free lunch, and so it is with this company. The couriers they use are so expensive, and after lengthy negotiations (when you finally get through) with the company they are not going to change them. My own example was to order £700+ of wine, as my first order of 4 cases was splendid and only cost £35 for delivery, the second order delivery charge came to £320 which obviously greatly impacted on the overall cost per bottle and really did not make it viable, however the person who was sharing the order wanted it so we went for it in the end, but had to wait 6 weeks for the wines to finally arrive. Great wines, but if the cost of shipping is so high and the customer service is very bad, then they are not going to get them to other parts of the world, Shame.”
“The service is excellent. This order was slightly damaged in transit and one bottle was broken in what must have been a pretty unusual accident. Portugalvineyards were extremely good in the way they handled it. Once I had forward photos of the damaged box they refunded the lost bottle. The prices are good. The speed of delivery good and as for the wine I chose...the ones I have tasted so far have been superb.”
“I just LOVE LOVE LOVE Portuguese wines, especially Noval Porto Tawny and Douro wines. I think that they are really very underrated and not well known.
However, the service of the Portugalvineyards is not acceptable. I never received any customer service and the box of wine I ordered took more than 1 month (!!!) to arrive from Portugal to Switzerland - so not at all to the other part of the world - by DHL (that should be a fast carrier??). Nobody ever explained to me the reason of the delay and according to tracking info, the box remained at Valencia customs for about 13 days. Never came to know why.
I love Porto wines, but I am not going to buy from this company evermore.”
“I ordered last week "vinho reginoal de alentejano" named Artefacto. Ich had com to know, that these Wines are as Good as such from Douro or Dao. I am very happy with real good red wine to a very reasonable price.
The dilevery to Germany with DHL was without any Problem.
Nós gastamos de vinhos de portugal muito bem.”
“I cannot fault Portugalvineyards on their excellent range of 5* wines - and their prices are incredible. BUT - don't rely on speedy delivery or even organised delivery.
Their delivery system lets them down and their communications is terribly poor. As they take 1 to 2 months sometimes to deliver - it's even more annoying to find [sometimes] that they haven't even despatched the order after this period because a particular wine may be out of stock! Not a problem normally but NO communications.
It is such a shame because I do believe that Portugalvineyards wines are world class - but lack of communications and inadequate delivery services do make them feel a little third world. I won't stop using them - but only when I don't need wine on a reliable basis :-/”
“Excellent service. I am a great enthusiast for Portuguese wines and even though of setting a Portuguese product shop in Cambridge some years ago called Coisas Portuguesas

“Portugal Vineyards provide a wonderful range of wines, some of which are a amazingly good prices. As a lover of rich, dark flavoursome wines, I would recommend sampling a box of 12 their affordable reds ((3-4 euros each). Transport costs are very reasonable and a box is usually received within a few days of ordering. So much better and cheaper than supermarket wines.”
