But I did not appreciate the last email requesting me to respond about the three quotes, and putting all the focus on a QUOTE. I informed SolarQuotes that I was going to take 3 months to make a decision. There was no option on the email sent to respond to the fact that two of the three had contacted me, and only one had given me a quote, and I wrote that the other company had corresponded with me with good details but I was not ready to ask for a quote. I feel pressured and that is not what I indicated: 3 months!!! Give us a break.”

Here is an article we have written detailing what we expect a solar system to cost based on its size. There are also many factors that can effect price, such as brands of inverters/panels, or if batteries are added.

Please know we do vet every installer before recommending them - and having positive reviews on other review aggregates is a must - but I understood your concern. “Installing a solar system is a huge investment and I want to get it right. I found the information on the SolarQuotes website to be very good but the quoting process doesn't live up to it. I was contacted by 2 of the 3 recommended companies and what ensued highlighted to me how inconsistent the industry is and how much it lacks transparency. I'm still hunting around and will find someone independently.
4 stars for the website and 2 stars for the quoting process, hence 3 star overall.”

“I received a quote myself and had 2 referrals from Solar Quotes.
1 referral provided a quote but has not followed up
The other quote said I waited too long to respond ie: a week and when I did with all the photos and documents they requested, they advised I would hear from them for a week or so. Still waiting.
I have decided to go with Solar Dynamics who was referred by a neighbour and they have been excellent in answering every concern and question to date - they are now coming out for a site visit before I go ahead with any paperwork and install. Thanks”

“One of the 3 installers didn't want to quote because the roof was too steep (despite only 1 in 3 slope which I thought was pretty normal). Solar quotes advised me and offered to find another installer, which I declined, so all ok.
Of the two remaining quotes I accepted one (Magma) but couldn't find a single review for that business. I thought all your recommended installers had reviews.”

Thanks for leaving us this feedback - it's always appreciated and i'd like to apologise for any disappointment caused by using our service here. Some installers are more prepared/equipped for steeper roofs or have a preference on the pitch they generally like to install on - we are sorry one of the companies couldn't suit your installation. I will let them know your feedback as like you advised, our other 2 matched installers were able to quote you.
On the reviews side - Magma indeed do not have any reviews on SolarQuotes from the public. This is primarily because they have not asked their customers to place reviews on SolarQuotes - which I will let them know about.

“While the responsiveness of Solar Quotes and the organisations that use this service was good, ultimately I didn't get any information that moved our decision making along. Two installers responded to Solar Quotes' call for a quote for us. Both acknowledged the request but I only heard from one with an actual quote despite SQ chasing the other. When I indicated that I was looking for a non-Tesla product I was provided with more information about inverters, but that just left me with more questions. Which is fine. So I am back where I started, still researching. Overall, the experience left me none-the-wiser about what product I should buy, but it was a start. And if we were to go with a provider via this process there is the Solar Quotes installation guarantee. I am now chasing up my own quotes.”
