I cannot warn other businesses strongly enough: stay away from Yell.
Yell secured our business using promises, projections and expected results confirmed in writing within their own contract. What they delivered was completely different. I raised concerns from the first month, yet they refused to provide a fair resolution and forced us to pay for two full months of a subscription that had failed to deliver what was agreed.
Our account manager was constantly available while securing the sale. Once concerns were raised, that support disappeared. Messages went unanswered and we felt completely ghosted. Whenever we contacted Yell, we dealt with someone different, had to explain everything again and received contradictory information. The constant calls, repeated explanations and complete lack of ownership were exhausting and incredibly draining.
The situation then became far more alarming. Because Yell controlled our website, they disabled it during the dispute and left our business without its online presence. Our website was effectively used as leverage: pay for the disputed subscription or remain offline.
Even more seriously, Yell attempted to log into our independent 123 Reg account, where our domain is registered. They then attempted to change my registered contact details and account login information, which could have prevented me from accessing the account and protecting our own domain. Had they succeeded, we could have lost control of one of our most important business assets.
This was not Yell’s website or domain to take control of. It was independently registered and belonged to our business. I find any attempt to change the owner’s contact and login details during a payment dispute extremely alarming and completely unacceptable.
This goes far beyond poor customer service. In my opinion, it represents calculated, coercive and deeply unethical conduct towards a small business. They failed to deliver what they confirmed in writing, disappeared when challenged, passed us endlessly between different people, disabled our website and then attempted to interfere with our access to the domain account itself.
I also urge prospective customers not to look only at Yell’s overall Trustpilot rating. Read the detailed 1 & 2 star reviews and compare the experiences being described. Many contain specific and troubling accounts, while numerous positive reviews appear extremely brief and generic. Examine the detail and recurring themes, then reach your own conclusion before signing anything. Also check the comments on their Facebook page and adverts as they're just as disturbing.
Do not give Yell control of your website, domain or digital assets. Do not assume that even promises written into their contract will protect you. Our experience has been exhausting, distressing and genuinely alarming. I would not trust Yell with any part of my business under any circumstances.”

Where do I start!! Luke from Yell made big promises how he was going to help me grow my business adding an additional 29k income. BS!!
never set my account up correctly, was getting calls for services that we don't provide and never have done.
1st month got 2-3 calls on jobs that we could possibly do but we was already booked.
2nd month 1 call for a service we don't provide.
3rd month 1 call so far...
I told them I had a website that Im under contract with, He insisted they will build me a better one and will work around it somehow 🤔.
But they keep asking me to get my provider to release my domain name.

So I message Luke to say I wasn't happy with this service, to which he will call me on Tuesday 3 weeks later still haven't received his call.
Ive rang Yell up to say I don't want this service anymore. as 300£ a month is a lot of money for a very small business, they haven't provide the service that Luke said they could deliver.

So the Chap told me he would cancel this service for me wait for it 2027.
Now they Bulling me to continue paying for a service that I have lost all trust with.
