Stay away from 1st Central they might be cheap but there is a reason, if you don't make have to claim alls good. I claimed in June for an accident that wasn't my fault, customer service and attitude was disgraceful the existing claims team are rude and uninterested. They only took photos of my car, then from that apparently said it was a economical write off, baring in mind I was still driving the car. Week and a half later they announced the car was unfit to drive, two days later when my son had the car 20miles from home they made an on the spot decision to cancel me insurance. I still had no hire car. Had to transfer my insurance and borrow a car to fetch and drive the uninsured vehicle home. The crunch point was we agreed a price but it wasn't until the day the cheque was released did they inform me that they would be taking a whole years premium in advance leaving me with just £400, not enough money to buy replacement car. Existing claims just laughed and refused to talk to me but confirmed if I hadn't have transferred the policy to another car they would still have taken the money and left me with car insurance for a car that I didn't have!! All this and it was the third party's fault!! I now have no car and no money!! Avoid!!

By far the worst insurance company I have ever had all due to customer service its non existence. No one knows what they are doing, you wait on the phone before talking to anyone for at least 20 minutes and when you finally get thru they haven't got a clue they are all as thick as #### pathetic bunch of idiots. I have made two complaints to the Finantial ombudsman and thinking of making the third so it goes to show this is a company that clearly doesn't learn from there mistakes and doesn't take feedback seriously. Can't wait for renewal date and see the back to this incompatent pathetic useless company.

Complete and utter rip-off company. Their core aim seems to be to get as much money out of customers by any means possible. 'Administrative Charges' left, right and centre. I will never use them again.

Never heard of having to download and print out your own documents before.Every insurance company I have been with over many years have sent all the original paperwork through the post which is how it should be.What if someone is not online and has no internet access or printer.How on earth are they gonna bloody download and print out documents.My mum has now been waiting 3 weeks for this company to send her all her documents through the post after being promised yeah,yeah,yeah they are in the post and will be with you tomorrow.Vety poor insurance company......will never go with them again and I would not recommend these people to anyone.......absolutely RUBBISH !!!!

Very Very Very poor company. Quote simple and cheap upfront, but need anything else and you wont get it! On hold for 20 minutes before anyone answers, then placed on hold for a further 20 minutes for no reason other than inept staff, or as I believe taking other fee earning calls first! They cancelled my policy because they had an issue with their DD system. I get the usual apology when I do speak to someone, but then put on hold again - I am hold whilst writing this, 32 minutes and I've not spoken to anyone! Joke and surely the FCA need to look in to this company.

I have had an email and within four days you had lost all details of my car not even knowing the registration, I called today and gave again details,and was told you would waive £30 charge..... What!!!!!!!!,your company already inspires me with little confidence and I explained that I would like to know how it could be possible to loose these details there's also the trouble I may have got in by the police as my car would not have been on the data base as insured,my car may have been confiscated with high charges to get my vehicle returned due to your error and you waived a £30 charge!!!!!!!I think I should have been given a full apology, completely incompetent service so far I'm sorry to say

This company is very good at taking your money however they made me wait 112 days to get a £46 rebate AND I had to fight tooth and nail to get that back, even had to prove they did not pay me when they said they had. Would never use again

Went on line to buy a policy on the 30/5/2015 from 1central where my card was declined so tried my wife' visa card that was declined so went else were that day an got a policy with Kwik fit insurance. All ok until 2 hours later an email to say welcome to 1 central and £361.00 off my wife's visa I immediately called them to explain what had happened think girls name was Jade after 30 minutes on the phone was told no problem full refund will take up to 10 working days. After 4 more calls over 3 weeks still NO REFUND called today the 18/6/2015 now told may take 5 more working days looks like I will have to get the F.S.A involved to resolve this absolute nightmare.

do not go with this company,all they are worried about is making money by charging administration fees,requested documents 6 months into the insurance but cancelled policy ,customer service atrocious

Do not care about customer loyalty. Very rude and sarcastic staff trying to be little you . Clearly the customer is never right . No compensation for the stress they have put me through in the last 4 months all because 1 woman couldn't do her job at all. Will deffo be moving insurer.

I bought a car insurance from 1st Central a week ago. I received a quote of 339,41. Because I want it to pay monthly, the brake out was for 50.91£ deposit + 10 monthly of 33.39£ taking this to a total of 384.81£. I proceeded on buying this insurance, as soon as I've done that the deposit asked whent from 50.91£ to 56£...I still whent ahead with it and after I payed the increased deposit I have received a confirmation e-mail with an increased monthly payment of 37.38£. I call this theft. I wonder how many people fell into something like this. I am disgusted. I have asked 1st Central about this but I had no explanation to this from them. I will cancel my car insurance tonight and I will try to find out who to adress to investigate. I believe should be Ombudsman, as soon as I will have a bit of time I will call Citizens Advice Bureau to guid me.

Made a mistake on the start date of the car insurance. Contacted 1st Central to amend the start date (wrong start date didn't start for a month) and they wanted an extra £70. To cancel the policy, which was going to start for a month, they wanted £50. Definitely a rip off!!

I have been insured with first central for 5 years. I have never claimed or been claimed against. I have never missed a payment and yet when I buy a new car this year they make me pay a ridiculous amount whilst comparison websites found quotes for up to HALF of what I'm being charged! You might think I have a sports car........ Think again it's a seat altea family car! Deasel! My family are also insured with first central along with 2 close friends so by robbing their loyal customers they will be losing us all! My last payment with this company is next month and I couldn't be happier to be leaving! ????????

I am waiting for someone to call me ref. a reasonable level of compensation regarding a problem 1st Central had when I bought a new car. 1st Central had me call both of my banks to check if their systems were up after my cards were declined. I had just spent £8,000 on one card on the car !!! Both banks said they could not see any transactions from 1st Central. I spent over two hours on the phone to 1st Central and my banks, all on premium rate numbers and was offered a derisory tenner, Won't be renewing any time soon - shocking customer service

I PUT ALL MY DETAILS IN TO GET A QUOTE! I EXCEPTED THE QUOTE AND WAS PAYING FOR IT THEN I WAS TOLD TO PUT REF NUMBER IN AND YOU WOULD SEND A PASSWORD TO ME .NO PASSWORD WAS SENT SO I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES MORE, I DECIDED TO RE-QUOTE AND I GOT THE MESSAGE SAYING SORRY WE CAN'T QUOTE YOU. NOT HAPPY! SO I WENT WITH SOMEONE ELSE!!
