It is annoying that when enquiring for a quote we advised when we would be obtaining vehicle, but on the day although the details are the same you increase the price.

company was rubbish at cancelling my policy with them! they cancelled it for me and i paid £10 and they said i would not have to pay anymore and that was it. Then a month later they are chasing me for £45 i refused to pay it and they start threatening me with debt collector letters, i then made a complaint and someone left me a voicemail saying they made a mistake but the i kept getting other calls and letters asking for the money. The company obviously don't communicate. They have now left me alone thank god!!!!!!!!! However when i cancelled my policy the person Liam Rolfe was very pleasant.

I called them on 6 occasions by email and telephone to sort out a problem - it took months to deal with and as I write it is still not fully resolved. I received some of the worst customer service I can ever recall.

I had a couple of issues/queries so I rang for assistance but was somewhat frustrated by explanation for 'badly worded /confusing' question. I was told that I would have to fill in form on 1st Central's own site and the assistant couldn't comment on format of moneysupermarket site. When I tried 1st Central site the question was worded exactly the same!!! It was only the price than won me over but it was useful being able to talk to a human being when I had a query!

Hi, you will notice that I have indicated Normal, it is purely and simply because I have only just joined you. There is one thing I would like to address if I may. I am a dinosaur I suppose in the cyberspace world and have a yearning for paperwork in relation to cover and policies. This Internet business for me without physical mail documents of and for insurance is something I personally am not to keen on. I know that there are still actually some companies, Privilege Insurance being one, who still send out the policy, or a copy of it in the physical mail. Is there any chance of you doing that!? I keep files and such for all my details and all of my correspondence, you know, bills, receipts, car details, MOT, Services, etc etc. I just feel more comfortable with something physical and paper like it used to be. An Internet page seems sort of very impersonal and slightly unreal if you get my drift. I don't know, maybe there are some other dinosaurs like me who feel the same way. Thank you for your time. Missed a payment through a banking error , contacted 1st central to make a debit card payment the very same day and they charged me a extra £30 on my £24 monthly payment :-0 glad my contract is up to be honest would use them again money grabbing highwaymen lol

Very easy to set up policy but I do like to have SOME paperwork although I know it adds to the cost.

The quote I received via comparethemarket.com was more than competitive for my car insurance and less than I paid last year so I was initially very pleased. However, that quickly diminished when it came to trying to buy the policy. I fail to understand why it is always so difficult and time consuming to carry out such a simple task of buying a car insurance policy. It took me 2 days and three phone calls averaging over 10 mins each due to having to hold for so long only to be told to call back as there were system problems. Never once was I asked to leave my number and someone would call me back. Whilst holding on the telephone for a fourth time I tried again to buy the policy via the internet as I was getting very fed up and it actually worked!! Thank goodness as my old policy was due to expire just 1 hour later! Not a good first impression but I have found since that the website and customer portal is easy to access and navigate.

I found the wait times when calling totally unacceptable and also find it outrageous that 1st central charge a massive amount extra if you want your policy to start that day - I had to sit for 4 hours until 12:01 am in order to get my policy started or it would of been hundreds of pounds extra on my annual premium.

My start date was wrong. So had to completely cancel and re insure as was unable to change by phone daft

Good prices, but pushy sale techniques. Don't need to be so pushy with customers, also could do with being a bit clearer when doing the sale for the extra add ons.

I got a cheaper quote by going on Moneysupermarket again as apposed just going with my renew quote so not happy about that really. I feel a little agreived that I had to go on a comparison site to get a better deal from my own insurance company.

New quote is not the lowest I cab receive therefore will use a new insurance company if they can not match my new quote.

Conned by excess on windscreen coverage I just had a small chip and needed it to be done even with fully comp insurance it was cheaper to have it replaced than repaired, autoglass was free until they found out that I was with 1st central I WON'T BE using you again

Good price on the insurance but watch out for the auto renewal feature,and cancel this if not required. Customer service take a ridiculous amount of time to answer the phone.
