I placed an order online the order was processed the payment taken...2 days later email saying order cancelled...I question this in an email to customer service (who to be fair did respond) I emailed questioning the company's practices and stock replenishment and stock control processes...I have worked in both distribution and retail for over 25 years...I know my stuff....after various emails...of no we don't have it to yes we do....all the while the item is still available online and sitting in my basket (I get an email saying they are holding it for me so I don't miss out) anyways cut a long and farcical story short..I reorder as I am assured the item is definitely in the warehouse and it will be delivered to my home address by way of an apology....Have a guess what guys....it's cancelled AGAIN...this company has no clue how to conduct a slick customer based online shopping experience.....also to top it off AFTER ALREADY POINTING IT OUT THE FIRST TIME.....ITS STILL ORDERABLE ONLINE.....shocking company to deal with and they should be investigated for how they conduct their online business.....let's all contact watchdog 🙄

Blacks are amateurish, helpless, inadequate, incapable, ineffectual, inefficient, inept, inexperienced, unqualified, unskilled, useless, amateur, raw, awkward, bungling, bush-league, clumsy, disqualified, floundering, ineligible. I hope you go bust for the problems you have caused me. You don't deserve to supply the camping hiking and trekking community with the gear they need. Never again.

Scam. Ordered item a week back, showing in stock, 5-7 days delivery, free. No contact yet from them. They take your money for items they don't have, bank the interest of YOUR MONEY in their account. You can't cancel the order until you have received the goods and return them, then how long until you receive YOUR MONEY BACK? The online tracking service is inoperative. From what i know this is classed as false advertising and is against the law. Further action by Trading Standards is going to be taken. There is something not right about the way this organisation operates, please do not use them it really is just a lot of grief.Avoid.

I have decided to forget this bad experience and forego the refund, I have gone straight to the bin with damaged unusable goods, I would not recommend your Company to anybody. i think this will be the best decision for my sanity because reading all the very negative reviews it would only annoy me trying to get £24.99 back from your Company. I have a very reputable Company that will be reopened after lockdown called Charles Camping that i will be delighted to do business with.

Over the last 3 years I’ve tried to order from Blacks website a couple of times. Each time my order was processed, money taken, then a couple of days later I’ve received an e-mail cancelling my order due to the unavailability of stock at the time of 'picking' the items at the warehouse. The items are still showing as available to order following the cancellation email I received yesterday.

Order Number 601305086 - Took my money, nearly £700 and never received the goods. Do not answer their customer service phone lines or communicate in any way. Total nightmare of a company!!!! BE WARNED..... DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

I have had a frustrating experience buying a product from Blacks online. They accepted my order for a sleeping bag, even though it soon became clear it was out of stock - not dispatched etc. This was no good as I needed it within a couple of weeks. I attempted to cancel the order but you can not do this. I waisted so much time trying to cancel the order and also try and find out what was going on, why there was a delay in dispatching, and how long the delay might be, but getting any information was impossible. All you get are computer generated emails saying things like 'some items are taking longer than normal', and 'Our Warehouse Staff are working hard to complete your order'. I even emailed Customer Services, to ask to cancel the item and find out why there was a delay, and all I got was an automated email reply saying they would get back to me - which they did not. I have since contacted them again, expressing my frustration - all I received was another automated email saying they will take steps to ensure such things don't happen again - but its just a nonsensical reply that means nothing. I have had to go to the hassle of returning the item and paying the postage. Hopefully I will get my refund, for the item, without more time consuming hassle. Blacks should not take your order if the item is not in stock - they should alert you to this fact before you order. If they do accept the order, then they should contact you, explain that there will be a delay and offer a refund/cancelation. At the very least, you should be able to cancel the order if it is out of stock and has not been dispatched. And just getting computer generated emails that are not specific to your problem is not good enough. It makes you wonder if this is a deliberate policy to take your money and hope you can't be bothered to return the item. I won't be using Blacks for mail order again - this is a shame since the item was very well priced and great value.

Thoroughly awful! Saw a great deal for a Fenix 6s - £369 fantasic! Ordered 4th January (money was taken then too), kept getting updates 14th January delivery - BUT when I opened the packaging there was no watch there!! A COMPLETELY JOKE RIGHT?! Immediately ring up their customer services, make it clear I want a replacement ASAP. Told they have a 28day investigation period. Patiently wait, requesting updates each week 2nd February! ( they've had my money for ALMOST a month now!) they send me a refund. Watch is no longer in stock and they don't offer any alternative. DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP ORDERING OFF THIS COMPANY! Take your money for a month :(

The branch in wimbeldon is a disaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!, staff helpful and know there stuff the manager guy thats there needs the boot! He is so rude, he processed my refund, with no customer service, no eye contact and made me feel guilty for returning items that were genuinely faulty. He clearly has a massive chip on his shoulder as his attitude was so off putting I will never be returning to this company again! My first and last time for sure!

Worst online company I ever have dealt with. ordered £1500 worth of camping gear over 2 weeks ago and after being told its shipped and giving a fake tracking No. they now say shipment is lost and might not have the tent in stock??? even though it shows stock online. Do yourself and your sanity a favour and avoid.

Bought a bike from blacks beginnings of last week, I've had notifications from them saying they've got the bike and its "making its way through the warehouse" the usual automated stuff... then suddenly today cancelled for no apparent reason thats over £1000 of my money I have to wait for up to 5 days - I've missed other opportunities because of this. If the bike was out of stock your website should have said this! I am not the only one this has happened to either tustpilot is showing that many people are having problems with this! I'm just glad it wasn't a birthday recked like some. Terrible customer service everything is just automated responses.

Same problem as others have had. Ordered from them 3 weeks before a friend's birthday in the hope of getting them something small during this lock down. It was only a gesture, and, to make the postage cost more effective, I also ordered a pair of socks. No sign of anything as the date passed their birthday! Finally I was told that the other item, a hat, was no longer in stock!!! Perhaps if it had been dispatched when ordered it might have been? Is it my fauklt their dreadful stock system exists? So, anyway, they sent the socks, to be too late to be any use either. They refuse to refund the p&P, meaning these basic socks have cost me over £13. I only ordered them to ensure the hat was better value. Ages for customer service to respond although thy have done a few times today. Won't refund the postage as I requested, then after exchanging a few more vehement emails was told if I ordered again they would refund my postage once my items have been received! Well, why can't they do that now??? What a useless company. I fail to see how companies cannot appreciate the impact thattheir dreadful service has oin customers. No, I shall not be ordering from them again, ever! A good company respects their customers - very clearly, Black's do not. I used to also shop regularly at their Stratford upon Avon store. When it reopens, I shall no longer be using it, especially having seen the terrible customer service that others' here report!

Twice I’ve ordered from Blacks in the last couple of months, twice they’ve debited the amount, twice I’ve then had an e-mail cancelling my order, apparently it’s a rare occurrence. I must be lucky

Advertised 2 pairs of shoes for £30. At check out basket said £150. Called to be told it was an error on web page and would not honor the offer. Waste of time, staff have no idea of policy or procedure.

I made two Orders for two separate items . 87.00 and I paid for next day delivery. This fell at the first fence and they refunded the delivery part of the order having missed the target . Over a week later the couriers evri !have lost the items!Blacks are re sending order one ( first adviser helpful)and unfortunately arguing about query two : order two albeit ordered straight after and clearly neither were delivered as it’s the same courier!!V poor service between blacks and evri

Not great at all. I ordered an expensive tent (£1100) on the Monday for delivery from 3 to 5 days. I called the following monday to basically be told they had lost it, but no one had contacted me. I asked if they could arrange a new one to be sent out next day delivery to which I was told no, I had to just order as normal again. So I asked for a refund. I then got an email. telling me I could have next day delivery, but when I asked it was to late as they had issed the refund. So now my camping trip with my children is cancelled as I have no tent. Would not recommed or use again.
