On 18th December 2025 I went to buy some really good warm gloves for going to the Czech Rep mountains in mid February for NOT skiing - we are too old for that but were going with our son and grandson. I was told that the Extremities range was the one to go for (Ext W Ins WP PWR). There were 3 types shown to me and the salesman said that the most expensive (£40) was the one to go for and would provide the maximum warmth. I bought these but I am very disappointed as, with the first real cold weather here in the UK, these gloves made my hands colder and colder. I wish I hadn't bought them. I went to the Blacks store in Newbury yesterday, 17th January 2026, a) to complain, and b) to get the saleslady (store manager) to send an email (or other communication) to Blacks buying department to give feedback about what Blacks were purchasing. The Store Manager was unhelpful and quite surly regarding my complaint about the gloves being completely ineffectual and also clearly did not wish to give my feedback to your buyers. Blacks used to be reliable and honest. I'm not sure now - but I won't be returning .... ever.

What went wrong dealing with you. Paid extra for next day delivery, never arrived then next night got text DPD there’s a problem at delivery hub. Will follow next day sent a pin for driver meaning I’d to leave my Work left hour early guess what never arrived say they did but I was in my door bell is very loud my security cameras never picked up anyone. No note nothing tried blacks customer services two responses sent on their own contact page, phones only manned Monday Friday I spoke to them on tues afternoon still no response hopeless promised full refund and now not refunding DPD MONEY ? We are now a week since order still awaiting a response from contact page.

I bought and paid for a pair of walking shoes for my wife on the 5th July. On the 11th July I received an automated email asking me to review my experience - but my shoes haven't arrived. I checked tracking which told me that the shoes were still in the Blacks warehouse waiting to be dispatched to Royal Mail. Now it is 9 days later, the 14th July and nothing has happened, apart from an automated response from Blacks asking for the info that I provided in my email to the. I am writing this whilst sitting on hold to customer support. I have been on hold for 37 minutes with no response. Sadly, this means I have to go to their abysmal refund system. Avoid.

Truly, it has been a very hard task for forensic company to find a solution to this Elicit act of online scammers today. Many efforts has been put together in order to eradicate online fraudulence. Now, there are methods, in-fact very quick in the eye methods that you can use in recovering from any cryptocurrency investment or recovery fraud. Ordered a voucher for 150 pounds. When partner went to redeem it showed as 15 pounds. Very embarrassing and lack of apology .

Great Gear, Useless Carrier, Rubbish After Sales I ordered a pair of boots for my wife from Blacks UK on Sunday evening It was collected by Evri Tuesday. Thursday, Evri`s tracker said It`s on its way. It didn`t arrive. Friday, Evri`s tracker said It`s on its way. It didn`t arrive. Contacted Blacks who told me it was out for delivery but it didn`t arrive. Later I get an email from Evri saying my package had been delayed . Blacks UK TOLD ME to contact Evri but their useless chat assistant rejected the correct delivery postcode so I couldn`t complain any further. Awful, Useless, Terrible etc, etc, This was a gift for my Wife who is ill and Evri has cocked it all up. Will never buy from Blacks UK or a seller that uses Evri ever again. Just a another customer to Blacks and Evri, and I doubt they even care. It is now 11pm Friday and I do not have a clue where the boots are but Blacks didn`t hesitate to remove £139 from my account on Wednesday the 22nd. No boots and £139 gone. The weekend starts tomorrow so I doubt I will hear anything more (if anyone cares) until next week. Grrr Thank you Blacks for an absolutely stressed out, sad for my wife, and frustrating for me, week. Date of experience: 19 November 2023

Avoid ordering online! I would advise against ordering from Blacks website unless you are prepared to be out of pocket when trying to return items. Blacks take no responsibility for returns and despite the fact that I have received email confirmation from Blacks that my return was received by the company and after waiting for my money for over 14 working days, they are now asking me to deal with the company handling returns. I believe that once I have received a confirmation of my returns, it should not be on customers to handle Blacks' internal issues with the third party handling returns. It's a very frustrating experience, so unless you know the size and are sure of the quality of the product, do not buy from their site.

2 stars because the folk on the shopfloor are excellent, but as soon as you deal with Customer Service and on-line returns a total nightmare. * 3 separate on-line orders split between me and my wife. Returned in the shop. Have been waiting for 1, 1.5 and 2 months respectively to get a refund. Have been to the shop 6 times!! Customer service refused to send confirmation email of the status of refund. Was told every time I just had to wait for 3-5 business days. * Bought a pair of sealskin WATERPROOF gloves. These should be able to withstand a normal rain shower. They don't and so it doesn't what it says on the tin, hence it is my customer right to return the faulty item. Blacks refused to take back the item because it was no longer in the original packaging! So am I expected to keep the little plastic hook that keeps the two gloves together in a drawer in case it turns out the gloves are not waterproof?

Went into Blacks in Chichester and the service from Craig was absolutely amazing. He has got to be the most obliging Sales Representative I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He was so polite and courteous it made my whole shopping experience more pleasurable. I wanted some new walking boots and because I have a problem with my big toe on my left foot which slightly turns up as I broke it two ago my nail then rubs on the boot. I must have tried on at least 6 pairs of boots all in three different sizes from a 6, 6 and a half to a 7 but sadly none were suiting my left foot. Craig was so understanding of the problem but I felt so bad for not being able to buy any boots he really did make me feel at ease. I had just mentioned that I had just enjoyed a late lunch when he mentioned just through conversation the store had been so busy that he had not had any lunch. He started serving me around 4pm and I thought poor chap must be hungry so a few times I said go and find someone else to serve me and you go off and have a late lunch but he was insistent he wanted to help me find some comfortable footwear and said no its fine, I started serving you so I will see it to the end with this lovely caring smile. He was so desperate to help me as I mentioned all the problems I'd had with my feet, knees, hips and back. He also took time to explain the boots to me and the inner soles, what they were made of etc. Whether they were waterproof etc and the different methods the individual manufacturer used to make them waterproof. He was very knowledgeable. The shop was very clean and tidy and had a good selection of stock. Craig is an asset to Blacks and I will certainly go back in to the Chichester store and also recommend this store because of its array of stock and the service that was given to me by Craig. I only came across the Manager and one other female member of staff and they seemed friendly enough. I gave feed back about Craig to the store Manager who thanked me. I wish all sales assistants were as courteous and help full as Craig. Thank you again Craig...you are a star and need recognition for your amazing Customer Service Skills. You would be an asset to any company you worked for. Black you have a good member of staff there...hold on to him...good caring members of staff are hard to find! Kind regards, Nikki

I made two Orders for two separate items . 87.00 and I paid for next day delivery. This fell at the first fence and they refunded the delivery part of the order having missed the target . Over a week later the couriers evri !have lost the items!Blacks are re sending order one ( first adviser helpful)and unfortunately arguing about query two : order two albeit ordered straight after and clearly neither were delivered as it’s the same courier!!V poor service between blacks and evri

Not great at all. I ordered an expensive tent (£1100) on the Monday for delivery from 3 to 5 days. I called the following monday to basically be told they had lost it, but no one had contacted me. I asked if they could arrange a new one to be sent out next day delivery to which I was told no, I had to just order as normal again. So I asked for a refund. I then got an email. telling me I could have next day delivery, but when I asked it was to late as they had issed the refund. So now my camping trip with my children is cancelled as I have no tent. Would not recommed or use again.

Ordered a backpack . The backpack I received was second hand? Looks like someone had previously purchased it used it to go on holiday , returned it to Blacks who then sold it to me online as new? Returned it to Blacks who gave me a refund minus the £4.95 I had originally paid to have the item delivered? Their customer service department is shocking had numerous contact with them over this and each time they were rubbish . Will never buy from Blacks again !

Blacks are amateurish, helpless, inadequate, incapable, ineffectual, inefficient, inept, inexperienced, unqualified, unskilled, useless, amateur, raw, awkward, bungling, bush-league, clumsy, disqualified, floundering, ineligible. I hope you go bust for the problems you have caused me. You don't deserve to supply the camping hiking and trekking community with the gear they need. Never again.

Just dont bother - buy in store or not at all Placed an order online, paid with PayPal credit (so spent a bit more than I would have in store) heard nothing for a week then suddenly parcel is dispatched minus 2 items (out of stock) refund sent off and discount voucher removed (despite still being valid on purchase without the other 2 items. Ultimately paid more than I would have if I'd bought it in go outdoors (or got my local blacks to price match to save me the trip)
