“Unbelievably bad company to deal with. Signed up with them to promote our cleaning business on a 3 month contract. No business at all from them so cancelled giving 30 days notice and cancelled DD. Since then they have been constantly harassing us and threatening us, as they say all notifications of cancellations should be by telephone!! Clearly every other company is wrong in insisting cancellation notices should be in writing.”

“I have been in contact with two central heating/plumbers in willenhall and kingswinford west Midlands for boiler servicing however both gave dates but neither turned up and no calls nor apology so won't be using the site again .”

“The most awful customer service for tradesmen, they charge a fortune and do not verify negative reviews. The small print states every account is under constant review basically forever. If a competitor complains to them anonymously they hold it on file against you without your knowledge then they suspend your account BUT still expect you to pay the balance of yearly membership despite doing sod all for it! FYI someone can complain if you are deemed to ‘park inconsiderately to others’ no I’m not joking!!!!”

“Asked a Check-a-Trade registered Joiner to replace floorboards (some creaking and broken) in my hallway. He arrived and installed chipboard (9mm) on top of the floorboards I wished to be replaced. When I questioned such, he stated "That's what we always do. Put down chipboard and use plenty of nails". Is that correct? Seems strange to me. Why not use screws if chipboard is utilised? Central heating pipes, should they need to be accessed, are now under two layers of boarding. The creaking has not stopped. As it was Check-a-Trade, I paid him, although I now regret such. Will have another Joiner examine the work. Not pleased, as am a cardiac patient with a limited income and don't need the stress.”

“Total care home improvement. Came out to repair leak on our roof!. Turned up on time nice guy explained the problem and provided photos. Etc! Happy to use again, and recommend to others. Job well done! Thank you”

“Lock-insecurity -locksmith Couldn't open garage a lovely guy called Kenny came tested the lock & said it wasn't the lock, he tried to open the garage for over 1/2hour & phoned his office for assistance He wouldn't let me pay for the call out as he couldn't open it,so if you have any problems with your doors get in touch with lock-in security genuine people they are still around out there Sheila rating 10/10”

“I am a lady of 81 it is a long time since I met 2 nice young men Alex and friend did some work in my garden they were so polite and well mannered,my husband passed away at Xmas and the garden and had run wild,took away all rubbish,I could not find words to say what a pleasure to meet these 2 young men,God bless you both.xxxxxxx”

“Had a joiner put some doors on and one of them fell off the top hinges a few days later. It was an absolute terrible job,There was a huge split in the door with screws in the split that shouldnt have been there(he most have been trying to correct a mistake he made)I had to pay for a new door to replace it. The toilet door wobbles on the hinges and the living room door has a large chunk out the top,which i didnt notice untill later but he most have notice it when working with it. I paid £243 for this and Checkatrade tells me to leave a reviews on the site with no mension if the joiner will still be trading on the site. Thats the first and last job ill get done on this site.”

“Kevin Betts, Locksmith ID264683. repaired a lock which had become jammed. Kevin is a very pleasant and knowledgeable locksmith and explained what needed to be done and the process as he did the job. Good, efficient job at a reasonable price. Thank you Kevin”
