I had used Staples for my office supplies on a regular basis over a period ending about 10 years ago. After that I used a local small town stationery and office supplies. Recently, however, I went to a Staples store for some note pads and other office supplies. I was shocked at the price. The Note pads that were comparable to the note pads that I was accustomed to purchasing at the local supplier were priced at over 3 x (300%) more than the local price. It was over $3.00 a note pad based upon a 6 pack of pads. I was astonished. The other items also seemed way over-priced. The check out clerk acknowledged as much when I complained and knocked off about $3.00 from the total price. Under these circumstances I would not recommend the store ... and I wonder whether these are price increases due to financial problems.

I ordered a desk chair over two weeks now - I rang the day after to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, I was informed that this was not possible as the product had already been shipped which I would have to wait until it was delivered in order to cancel and get their courier service (TNT) to collect. Which in my opinion is a poor business strategy for many reasons. After numerous phone calls and emails with a selection of "customer service advisers", their couriers have still not collected. It is just broken promises after broken promises with them. I wouldn't even give them the satisfaction of a one star review if possible because they frankly do not deserve it. I would advise anybody considering to purchase from Staples, to stay well clear.

Have a screen shot that a Tru Red MailMate shredder was on sale for 114.99 through tomorrow. When I put it in the cart it was 10 dollars higher. I called Staples and said I had a screen shot of the discrepancy. I was told that the sale was the prior week even though it was current on my screen shot. Then I was told Staples can simply change the pricing of an item...looks like I wlll be shopping elsewhere...false advertising!

Falsely advertised items. A file said it holds 760 sheets but barely holds half that amount :/ Gave 2 stars as was offered a refund but had no alternative. So I kept the item and they gave me 20% off next order. HOWEVER they give all their customers 15% off so i did not feel this was sufficient compensation.

Product didn't work. Arranging return was protracted and excruciatingly drawn out over 6 phone calls all made by me. Collected it 2 weeks ago, still no refund. More false promises. Leave well alone.

Very poor customer service. Order finally arrived after three failed attempts and clear instructions on when to deliver. Booked days holiday, was informed my items were missed from the van, then a courier booked to meet deadline which was great but that failed too. There’s more but this review would go on forever 🤣 Customer services just supply scripted responses - you may as well talk to the wall. Save yourself a lot of hassle and purchase elsewhere - even if it’s more expensive.

Slick deniers of warranty claims. Think you have a five year warranty? Think again. I was told the attached picture where all the leather facing has come off is fair wear and tear! The chair came with 5 years warranty and said it was good for using 8 hours a day. It gets 4 hours a day and so should potentially last ten years but it has only been about 3 years. Their 'leather' chairs, like many other companies, have only a skim of leather on them but I felt safe with a bonded chair as they gave a five year warranty with it - but of course they don't really! When I rang the first thing the they said to me other than fair wear and tear was "do I have the warranty agreement" and I should go back to the manufacturer with it. A) I was not given a warranty agreement and doubt anyone is, it just says 5 years on the listing and the box, B) why are they directing me to the manufacturer in the first instance when they are responsible for the warranty as point of sale? Staples, in my opinion, is a slick outfit - slick at avoiding their customers' consumer rights. Perhaps this is why they had to close high street shops and become a web only business.

Absolutely terrible, shockingly bad customer service. I ordered a desk chair on account of the supposed next day delivery, and bafflingly got sent a crate of water instead. I notified them of their mistake early on in the day and they responded sending me a new one the following day. The response went straight into spam because they have their email set up incorrectly. Meanwhile I emailed them and asked again, and also what kind of discount I'd get for them not delivering on their promises. The response did not even form coherent sentences, it was just a bunch of words with no full stops. But basically, they're letting me keep the water I didn't order, wow. Then I got an email from TNT telling me it was to actually be delivered 3 days after the original date rather than the following one, so they didn't even get that bit right. The new delivery was put through before lunch, so why they can't ship it to me next day is beyond me. Do not use this company, they have shockingly bad service, and can't tell the difference between a computer chair and a crate of water.

IT SEEMS THAT THE TONER THEY SELL IS ONLY 1/4 FULL. THEIR PRICE HAS INCREASED WAY BEYOND MY BUDGET. I HAVE NO REASON TO BUY FROM THEM AT THIS TIME...

Very poor service! Placed an order for a printer online which had a 20% discount code. Had confirmation email and all was well. After 1 week without delivery I checked the staples account to find out that the order had been cancelled, upon contacting staples I was told that the order was cancelled due to the use of an invalid discount code, when I asked how could it be invalid if it went through the checkout process and even accepted payment I was told that there was no further information available other than it was invalid. When asked why I did not receive any communication informing me that it was cancelled they couldn't answer this either. I have also been told that I will have to wait 14days to receive refund to my card for £169.99. Disgusting customer service and will not ever use this retailer again.

I went to my local Staples in Oshawa to purchase a gift for my mother. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even went through the effort of double-checking to make sure I was getting the best possible deal for my dollar. 10/10 would recommend.

I went into the local staple by me in cambridge Massachusetts an the staff at the copy center was not helpful at all.. i was waiting for her to help me there was no one else there but instead of helping me she answered her cellphone and went to the back well i waited to be helped.

Awful service. Ordered 16 storage boxes on 14th July eta delivery 17th. Delivered 1 box called the next day to find out where the rest was, was told an investigation would take place and I would get a call back. No call back. Called the next day to find out to be told it’s only day 1 of the investigation??? I have to wait at the latest 3 more days before any information can be gathered?? Asked for a refund and was told it would take 3-5days and only after the 3 days had passed?? Not much help when I needed the boxes for moving. So conclusion is no boxes(albeit 1 box) no refund, and a possibility of maybe knowing if courier company has found the boxes only after 1 week after expected eta so they can process a refund???

Upside was, product was delivered to my door quickly. Downside was, product was sold by a different company through Staples, so the price guarantee that Staples has did not apply and the product (Swiffer x-large dry sheets) were far more expensive (3x's) than purchasing in a store. Then, sending them back for a refund was a month long nightmare.

miss/placed/priced products. I visited the Kirkstall Leeds store at 10.40 Sunday 12/3/17 with the intention of buying a padded display folder, i found the items easily on a bucketed display rack and found the 40 pocket padded display book, the price £9.99. Five years ago i bought similar items in a selection of shopping and was shocked at the size of the bill, triple what i expected, sorry sir the items were miss placed and are 3 times as much. I accepted this and paid and never went back until today. This time I checked the barcode, not even similar, the product underneath, 36 sleeves also wrong and the wrong code. I checked the soft padded 10 sleeve and found them to contain 20 sleeves and missplaced/priced. I checked more and found them all wrong and in these cases the customer would get a shock on a single purchase or possibly not notice the extra £40 on a large bill. Negligent or dishonest you decide.
