“Inital price of £460 seemed a goof offfer. Then once they recieved the phone they tried to knock £80 off for 'noticable wear' not a mark on the phone as it was looked after and chekced before i sent it. Seems a bit of a scam to make more money. Many reviews say the same. They will send it back to me and i will sell it privately. What a waste of time. Dissappointing to say the least.”
“Do not use these thieving con people, they offered a reasonable price for my iPhone 12 which was in excellent condition £260 12 months old . I sent it off in original box and working condition when they received it I had a email saying it was scratched on the Bessel and marks on the front screen they were obviously lying because the phone was in perfect condition they offered half of what they originally offered. I then had to pay £10.75 for them to send the phone back to me which took 6 days . I sold the phone on market place the same day it came back for £300 please look around before you use these rogues”
“Sent my very good condition iPhone 13 Pro in after being offered £461 for it, get offer back for £315 stating poor condition which isn’t at all true, so wish I had looked ‘we buy any phone’ reviews up first, now been charged £10 postage for my phone to be returned, so glad I took some close up pictures minutes before I posted it after reading that apparently this company damages your phone before returning it!! AVOID THIS COMPANY ITS A SCAM.”
“Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Utterly disgusting lying company who…
Utterly disgusting lying company who then charge you to return your phone! Don’t chose good condition unless your send them a new phone because they will charge you postage to return if it shows any sign of having ever been used. They also know over hundred pounds off their offer.”
“Don't ever approach this company and expect fair treatment. I was told after my phone was allegedly assessed that it was only in fair condition and they offered me £80 less than the original price. It was an iPhone 12pro which they said had to be in mint condition to get the price they offered. I refused and they sent the phone back. Amazingly I then sent it to another conpany who gave me the price offered and it was assessed as in excellent condition. It seem like someone likes telling fibs to cheat customers out of their money. Shame on this company and please do not use them.”
“Offered £200 less when they received my phone for screen damage that I couldn't see. Tricks along the way, saying if we don't hear from you in 7 days we will assume you accept the offer and transfer the money (awful). I requested the phone back and 11 days later (after paying the return fee) I'm still waiting for the phone to be returned and no one is replying to my emails from customer service. I wrote a review on Trust Pilot which was removed as Webuyanyphone claimed I wasn't a customer, so no wonder they have good reviews on there. I currently feel totally scammed by them, they have my iPhone 12 Max AND I've given them £10 to return it (which it hasn't been). AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Not worth the stress and time I have spent trying to rectify it.”
“They knocked down the price of my phone by 1/3 because apparently it didn’t meet the criteria they as a business set. It ticked all their boxes and then scammed me out of nearly £100 for what they said scratch’s and wear. Which is laughable. Joke of a business.”
“This was the third occasion I’ve used Webuyanyphone and unfortunately after two very good experiences, this will be my last. I sent my phone and was offered £100 less after it was examined. My phone was in a pristine condition with no marks on the screen or to the body of the phone. I was sent a video of the phone being examined along with a report saying it had some screen damage and damage to the bezel. The video I was sent confirmed that there was no damage to the phone. I emailed their customer support and explained that the video I had been sent showed no marks or damage to my phone. I received a reply after four days waiting, saying that they would return my phone. Rather than investigating my concerns with the phone examination and the video, they chose to just ignore it and not to deal with the problem. Upon receiving my phone back, it was still in a pristine condition and I sent it to a competitor, sellmyphone who processed my payment in full the same day with no reductions for any damage. I fully understand that webuyanyphone work on the basis that people are honest about the condition of their phone but I certainly didn’t expect to receive a video claiming damage when there wasn’t any. I cannot recommend any company who doesn’t act on customer complaints and who makes no effort to investigate. It could just be an error on the examiners part but at least hold your hands up and take the time to investigate.”
“Extremely disappointed. Submitted details and sent the phone off. Received a much reduced offer due to light scratching on the screen. Hadn’t noticed in the terms and conditions that there is now an £11 charge if you decline the offer made and ask for the phone back. I felt that once the phone is received a much lower offer is made you’ve got little choice but to accept. My advice to anyone is to think carefully as the two figures differed by £149 due to light scratching!”
“Be aware that 'good' means like the phone has never been used
I was really honest with select 'good' as the condition of the phone excellent and it had always been in a case with a screen protector. I was only selling to them as it seem genuine and I don't have the time to mess around.
Disapprovingly WBAP assessed the phone, managed to noticed the slightest of wear on the edge of the phone and decided to offer me £100 less!! When questioned they raised the offer by £50! Needless to say I requested the phone to be returned as they are obviously out to con. I am guessing their game is get the phone in and then drop the price. I wonder what their rate is to actually pay what is offered in the first place.
AVOID”
“All the bad reviews here reflect my experience.
£210 0ffered for the phone on the website. The phone was immaculate, always kept in a case and always had a screen protector.
When the report came back they stated there were scratches on the screen and the back and reduced their offer to £140.
Not happy with this I called and complained. The person I spoke to was clearly used to receiveing such complaints. They upped their offer to £150. (which indicates that this is a scam)
This is clearly their strategy - offer the highest price online, and then reduce once received to well below another phone purchase service.
I have used alternative websites in the past and never been disappointed.
Please do yourself a favour, don't fall for the high price, it is a con. Use any of the other phone purchase / recycling companies, or a local shop.”
“DO NOT USE
Awful awful awful.
Please do not use this company, they are scammers!! Originally offered £214 for my phone, now £110, my iPhone was in perfect condition!!
Also it does not state that you then have to pay a fee of £10.00 to have the phone returned to you.
The 5* reviews must be staff/fake reviews. I have never dealt with a company so bad & with such bad customer service.
Please, do not use for your own good”
“Please, please, read the reviews on this company before you go ahead. I didn't research and now regret it. They offered me £190 as my phone IS in good condition. (Note, there is no option for very good, or perfect condition) they received my phone and then told me they will pay me £40! after emailing they upped the offer to £50, as I need to pay for the privilege of having my phone returned and they offered to cover this. (so kind) This is a joke of an offer for a phone that is in good condition and I know is worth much more.
Unless your phone is in PERFECT condition don't send it in. the slightest scratch will make them offer you an unfair amount that does not match the value of your phone. They know they have you on the hook, as a lot of people wont want to pay for the phone to be returned. So they expect you to accept the low offer.
The system is a con. A phone sent in good condition, is exactly that and they should honour the offer.
I look forward to a generic response from them about honesty policies etc etc... only thing is they don't offer an honest amount. its all a con.”
“Do. Not. Give. Your. Phone. To. This. Company.
They reel you in with the highest offer online. I’d be surprised if they ever pay that offer. Just check other online review platforms to see how poor this company is. I have no idea how they have such good reviews on Trust Pilot. Do your research when looking for reviews and ironically don’t trust Trust Pilot as far as this company is concerned.
Their rating of ‘good’ should actually be labelled as pristine condition which no used phone is. They offered £247 online (iPhone 11 128gb) but I had the smallest scratch in top corner of screen. That offer reduced to £130. They expect you to accept as they now have your phone. I declined the offer and had to pay over £10 to get it returned (only cost me £7 to send special delivery). Sent phone to Mazuma for offer of £215 and their ‘Excellent’ rating accepts up to 3 scratches to screen and their lower grading of ‘good’ was £180, £50 more than this company for even more defects. However, Mazuma gave me the top offer of £215. Stay well clear of these. Stick with Mazuma. I have sold to Mazuma before but was reeled in by We Buy Any Phone’s high offer. Never again. Do not trust them and certainly don’t expect the offer they give you online.”
