“The company genuinely try to rip you off. Sent a iphone 12 pro max in mint condition apart from a tiny little mark on the back. They offered me 675 pound for it. They got it. Looked it over and offered me 240 pound! They claimed the back had heavy use. Which was genuinely insulting. The phone had never been out a case! I don't understand how they offered me less than scrap value (which was 280 pound). Avoid company at all costs!!”
“Absolute con! Sent a phone in fantastic condition, I was initially offered £115 then has a message to say they’d offer £30! Told them to return it & was then offered £68, told them to return it, I won’t be using them again. AVOID”
“Phone in mint condition. Sent off in box not a scratch on it. Quoted a price of £20 due to ‘poor condition’ allegedly. Phone returned without box. Absolute scam. Do NOT recommend them at all. As with many other reviews on here...AVOID.”
“put in a Samsung S10 galaxy (with new case) - described as good (as it was my working phone at the time) - they offered £209, then once received it, they offered £40. Rubbish. No money yet received. AVOID.”
“If you haven't received the funds as promised, or you received a damaged item returned or no item at all take them to the small claims court and claim back what they owe you! Providing you have evidence you will win! This company is vile and needs the law on the backs.”
“Just like everyone else is saying I sent two perfect condition iPhone 8 Plus was offered £282 for both received text and emails saying they’ve been tested and passed the money will be in my account in five working days still no payment received after a phone call and still no payment please avoid at all cost and use someone else”
“I sent in an iphone 6s with an offer of £35. I checked it thoroughly before sending and it was as described but not ive been told its broken and they’re only giving me £18. Payment never came through. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!”
“Trade-in ID: A-T-PULIZ
It has been a month and still NO PAYMENT not answering the phone or emails. Absolutely disgusting a company would behave in such a manner.”
“Sent my iphone 11 pro max in its original box and in perfect working condition to this company with an offer of £530. Said that after checks they would only be offering £236. I asked for the phone to be returned. It was sent back in bubble wrap not even in its original packaging and the phone is not working. Sent email with no response”
“Everything is always quick and smooth when comes to opening an account and receiving prepaid envelope...... But now when they are delayed with a confirmed and promised payment I constantly receive email saying: sorry for any inconvenience caused, we are investigating, your pay is actually investigated and looked into. But money still not there. Rubbish service. I will never ever use it again. Better go somewhere else, receive £20 less than loose your phone for good.”
“When I started the process of trading in my handset, everything went very smoothly. From creating an account, to getting a quote for my device, to receiving the envelope to send my device, through to confirmation they had received the device and the checks had been done and payment will be in my bank account within 5 working days. All done in 10 working days.
This is where my experience changed. As payment wasn’t in my bank account within 5 working days. 5 separate calls chasing payment, with several excuses for why the payment had not been received, from wrong bank details, to IT issues, to payment with be in by midnight tomorrow or by the end of the week.
During the last call, I was told it would be by midnight the following day. As I'd been told this before, I advised that I had a log of every contact with them, both calls and emails and if the payment wasn’t in my account by midnight the following day as they has stated, I would be seeking legal advice. Payment received was received that day, which was 13 working days after confirmation
If you are going to use this company make sure you keep a log of every interaction you have with them and don't stop chasing payment.”
“Sent my old iPhone in to Westealanyphone and was then texted with a message that 'there was a problem with your Trade-in'. I was not trading in and the link went nowhere. The phone wasn't worth much so I can't be bothered to chase the thieves but just wanted to warn anyone else out there to avoid them at all costs. They are not to be trusted.”
“Stalling techniques for payment, lies undervaluation and genuine BS, still not had my money, they said I got a digit wrong (mmm seen that on a number of reviews..) also got offered £100 less due to screen burn which I have never heard of or noticed as it was the clearest phone I have ever had, which can be rectified by an app..
Had a number of e mails, after complaining for the 5th time, they said they were waiting for the money to be sent back to them by the bank yet had an e mail from them to say they couldn't pay the money in as details incorrect, that means they never sent it in the first place!!!!!
Don't know what to do now as they have my phone!!
Worst experience ever, they are polite enough on the phone but it's as if they have standard answers. I am sure they are used to saying all of the excuses judging by the reviews and all that I have heard.. They need closing down or at least get a fraud organisation involved”
“Sent my iPhone 7plus in good condition ,they found numerous faults which was not there, lowered initial offer nearly 4times,i have amended the offer and requested my phone back, they've stated its gonna be sent out 3-5working days week ago,now received txt saying- we gonna return your device in 10business working days ??? 2additional weeks to return phone in UK???avoid ,dont sell your devices there you will not get paid stated amount ,if my device not returned or in worse condition ive sent in-i ll take this matter further, let's see-(ive packed in original box and plus in additional box to avoid damage)”
“Requested a quote, they sent the reference and the shipping bag and label and once I sent my phone I heard nothing back or received any payment!
They don't answer the phone or respond to emails, it's a total scam”
“Do not use this company, even if desperate. Tried saying extensive damage to the back of the phone. Impossible unless they have damaged it as it only came back from Samsung who put a new back and camera lens on day before I sent it off.”
“Avoid these con artists like the plague! I wish i’d read up on them before wasting my time and energy. They lured me in by offering higher than anyone else, so i sent them my iphone 8. After originally offering £193, they claimed my pristine phone was damaged and reduced the offer to £140. I complained, so they “reassessed” it and increased their offer to £160. I asked for my phone back, received it and sent it to another (more reputable) firm. They paid the full offer amount immediately. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.”
“Utterly terrible company to deal with.
They initially tried to argue the iPhone 8 I was selling was damaged (it wasn’t - it was even sent in an old Otterbox case!) then changed their tune and agreed to pay the quoted price when I asked them to send the phone back.
However two weeks later I was forced to chased them to find out where the money was. Was met with bluff and counter bluff.
Immediately told them that due to the length of the time I'd had to wait, their lack of communication and the terrible reviews online I would begin action via county courts and trading standards.
Surprise, surprise, I got a call back within an hour saying the money would be paid that day.
But surprise, surprise, no payment was made.
Court it is then.”
“I sent off my iPhone 7 as webuyanyphone had quoted the highest price of £140.. When they received it ‘quality control’ said the ‘battery needed servicing’ and so they could only pay me £45! The phone was in perfect shape so I asked for it back. I then got another email offering £85. I said I would offer them the chance to pay me £130 deducting a tenner for a battery. They declined. I asked for my phone back saying they had wasted enough of my time. . On its return I got another quote from a reputable company and sent the phone off. They quality checked it, said it was perfect and paid full price. Clearly webuyanyphone just tried to rip me off which is appalling.”
