It was my first experience of a bus tour package holiday and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Blackpool on the 3rd of October, 2025. I would like to leave a very special thanks to our amazing Coach Driver, Christine. She was brilliant. Very friendly, polite, helpful, considerate, knowledgeable, informative, approachable and accommodating, very funny and an absolute joy to be around. I don't believe my first experience of a Coach Holiday would have been quite the same without her. thanks Christine!!

Just got back from fort William, fantastic short break very good value for money. Accommodation was good, nice room and very clean . Meals were good and adequate, nobody starved. The electricity went off on Friday night due to storm Anna and wasn’t expected to go back on till Monday. The hotel still made sure everyone had their evening meal and arranged for the coaches to take everyone home on Saturday morning. All the staff did a fantastic job under the circumstances and Alfa travel are refunding everyone for the lost day and even arranged taxis to take people home which they paid for. All this through no fault of their own. We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and definitely recommend them to anyone

Brilliant holiday with Alfa travel. Our coach driver Debbie was brilliant. The accommodation just a little tired, the food was excellent. Will definitely book again.

The coach provided wasn’t suitable for the long journey. There wasn’t enough leg room and no trays on back of seats. The driver was disappointing as he knew nothing about the area we were in or going to. He talked none stop of nothing but drivel. The holiday itself was good

The coach driver Tim was helpful & happy & a very good driver. The Metropole Hotel is a mixed review, the room & beds very comfortable if tired, the bathroom was the letdown, broken glass shelf which I considered dangerous, toilet had a broken seat & shower over bath leaked water everywhere the bath had a shower mat but should have been a bath mat for safety having said all that All the hotel staff were 1st class & the food excellent which made our stay a happy one. We are definitely booking with Alfa travel for 2026. On the whole we had a good holiday.

On the 23rd July 2025 I booked the above holiday in good faith, I did this through your reservations team directly & purposely asked about parking and was assured there was ample parking. On arrival (Saturday 23rd August) it was obvious that the carpark was very small only accommodating 7 cars, when questioned at reception they advised me that this was the only carpark & staff used it as a priority & if there was any spaces left then hotel guests were then free to park there!! This was the first of many complaints that arose on our short stay at the Imperial Hotel, Ilfracombe. I will start with the positives:- 1. Hotel reception was basic but pleasant. Community area & bar well decorated & looked after. 2. The first restaurant was pleasant but the one at the back was very claustrophobic, no windows, no atmosphere, very much like a school canteen. 3. Staff were lovely, very friendly & polite particularly Sarah on reception & Ethan the waiter. 4. The evening entertainment was adequate. (We were told that the above areas that I have mentioned had not long been refurbished so it was no surprise that they were more acceptable than the rest of the hotel!!) Negatives:- 1. Although the manager was pleasant & polite I feel she was a little inexperienced as she had no adequate or any positive comments to make to us. 2. The bedroom (which did have a sea view) was very very dated, not clean at all, sweets, wrappers, dust etc was found under beds & behind bedside cabinets. 3. The bathroom too was very dated, the bath & the shower screen were covered in rust & grime. 4. The short time we were there our room was never serviced & when we reported this to the manager she apologised, said she would deal with this & check every day that our room had been serviced - this never happened. 5. On our first night the toilet got blocked, when reported it was looked at whilst we out for the day, that night the bottom of the toilet leaked badly, we put towels down & reported it first thing. Once again whilst we were out somebody came and put sealant around the bottom (a job very badly done). Upon our arrival back to our room later on that day our bedroom door had been left wide open with all our personal belongings there for anybody to find plus the bathroom floor had not been cleaned it was still covered in brown stains (obviously the manager never checked as previously promised)- disgusting!! Once again we reported all this to the manager who shrugged her shoulders & asked what we would like her to do!! 6. The food was atrocious, I think prison food would have been better, one night we even resorted to eating out at Wetherspoons! (The breakfast was not as bad, not a lot of choice but adequate). To say our holiday was ruined is an absolute understatement, so much so we left on the Wednesday (27th) morning & found alternative accommodation out of Ilfracombe. It has taken us over a week to get over this ordeal & for me to actually face putting my complaints in writing, it has been like reliving a nightmare. Some of these complaints were not just our experiences other guests felt exactly the same but were restricted because they had come by coach. I would also like to add that my friend & myself will never ever be booking a coach or self drive holiday again with Alfa & needless to say we would not recommend you to anybody else, our experience has been so bad it has made us very wary about who we can now trust when seeking holiday accommodation etc.

Staying at the Regina hotel in Torquay. It's the worst hotel for disabled people I have ever been to, there are so.many stairs to combat, even though there is a tiny four person lift. Also noisy from the bar area entretainment, if you can call it that. Won't bother coming back

Alfa Travel - Cliffe Norton Hotel Tenby -Disgusting company without care or responsibility Hotel arrival could not have been more shocking. When booking it was clear and specific on room requirements, this was also confirmed after booking and prior to arrival. It was nothing special about the requirements and should easily have been dealt with, however this was declined and most certainly not dealt with, also a refusal to supply the head office CEO name or contact details. The rooms were not next to each other or even close, bear in mind we were there to accompany an elderly 82 year old who was charged an excessive amount given the closet of a room allocated, this was barely big enough for a small bed only also up several flights of stairs. The other room I can only suggest is some kind of converted area, most likely a female toilet. It was not quiet, it was dark, attached to male hotel toilets and shared the access door to the male toilets with a make shift sign on an A4 sheet of paper stuck to the door. The room had two very small windows that were not suitable or even both reachable, had horrid blinds to prevent total exposure of being viewed from the windows by the lift. The other no view at all and right on top of a flat roof and gulley. If the windows were open the nice sound of the hotel extraction systems from kitchen and likely the heating were very apparent, the hotel toilets in constant use and cleaned after midnight. The Bathroom was fine, however the shower was not thermostatically controlled and therefore varied pressure and temperatures (this I learned was apparent and experienced by several others in different rooms) meaning showering not pleasant and could be either cold, Luke warm, warm, or scalding during each showering experience. The smoke detector fitted at the end of bed was constantly flashing a bright light approximately every minute, the rain water pipework not connected and water gushing loudly onto the roof space, also window allowed rain in as so close to the flat roof. All sent to CEO of Alfa Travel Ltd, they confirmed receipt and confirm a response in 30 days. To conclude sleep and accommodation were extremely poor, not fit for purpose in many ways. Clearly rooms should not be used for paying guests and charging extra. Note also made aware of others booking very last minute and getting double room for single occupant. Jan the manager of Cliffe Norton Hotel Tenby is clearly care free, unprofessional and a pure liar. This may well conform to company policy and seemingly acceptable by Emma Russel Plus points - Majority of staff very pleasant and hard working. especially noticeable in the dinning room. Sleep quality is a minus 10 and Alfa care even poorer. It appears Alfa Travel actions and responses may have to form a huge consideration for booking next one. Alfa Travel complaints procedure is to lie, deny, ignore, not take any responsibility and instead reply saying the company policy is not to accept any abuse or aggression (none of which was most certainly given by any of our party) and that the decision is to not take further bookings which would be unlikely in any case based on this. This is the most unprofessional customer services ever and unacceptable. I have asked again for CEO to Emma Russel to reply as so far she has not and instead instructed someone else who simply came back with unacceptable nonsense. I wonder what they said about the poor chap Roy who was quite badly injured by a faulty lift. Perhaps he was ignored or accused of other things. Have photos but site would not upload

29th Aug. ABBA voyage break Kim our driver was great, lovely hotel, staff very helpful. Breakfast ok. But what let it down was the awful dinners, had better school meals. Dry and tasteless. I would look into it, because it's not good for your company

Just returned from 5 day break to dunoon. Got picked up on time from local pick up point. 2 stops on way for refreshments. Arrived at selbourne hotel and given room keys and advised bags would be brought up by porter. Room was perfect with a sea view. Meals were adequate and having table service was a bonus. Our driver andrew was lovely and kept us informed day by day about excursions. Will definitely use alfa travel again and am at present looking into a trip next year Thanks again alfa travel

Just got back last night from a holiday at the Queen's Hotel in Eastbourne. It didn't start to well when the feeder bus was half an hour late and where we have to wait is on a footpath with no shelter. Boarded the bus to find 2 ladies in our seats booked directly by phone to you. Told Graham the driver who said it wasn't his fault but they were already there so there was a double seat opposite the toilet so just sit there instead. Couldn't understand how it happened as for the last 5/6 years we have had 5 holidays every year. Never mind we did as we were told and got settled in seats 39/40. However when we got to Leeming Bar the 2 passengers who got on told us we had to get out of the seats as they had them booked. Again we had to move this time to seats 43/44 just in front of the back row, so we had moved seats 3 times in about an hour!! We were on our way to Eastbourne and had a couple of stops on the way and looking forward to getting there. When we arrived we were welcomed by the lady on the reception desk who was very nice. We were all given our room cards with room numbers and meal times. We asked for a room with a view and had room 508 on the 5th floor. The room was very big with a lovely view onto the pier and along the beach. Room was a little scruffy with the wallpaper peeling in places and the linings of the curtains all torn. The beds were very comfortable and we slept very well. The breakfasts were lovely with loads of choice and evening meals were nice as well. Service in restaurant was very good and quick. Steven our waiter was brilliant he was so helpful and friendly he is a credit to the hotel. Trips on the train and to Hever Castle and gardens were lovely and even better as the weather was great. Also enjoyed the sightseeing bus ride. All in all we had a lovely time despite a couple of hiccups at the start. We made some lovely friends as well. Now looking forward to our last holiday of the year to festive break to Fort William. Already booked our 5 holidays for 2026.

Cotswold and Blenheim Palace holiday 18th Aug 2025 staying at the Whately Hall Hotel. Hotel is impressive from the outside, very old dating back to the 1600's. Plenty of history. We asked for a low floor room but had to climb up a winding staircase and then another kite winding staircase (38 steps) totally unsuitable for my mobility problems. Luckily we could swap with my son whose room was higher but accessible by a lift which you had to go outside for.! From leaving Burtonwood we had a different coach driver every day as our designated driver was ill. Not really a problem though, all very nice but not very chatty. Staff were friendly, general areas clean and tidy. Breakfast was superb, everything you could wish for. Dinners were very lacking in choice and some were inedible. We went out two nights and ate at the local restaurant. Stayed in for dinner on the last night, fish and chips, though not very nice wish we had gone out again. Desserts o.k but hardly any choice. Tables nicely set with crisp white linen and nice cutlery. Service was a bit haphazard, don't think they have many coach parties. The hotel seems to be catering to short stay and overnight guests, or corporate guests Bedrooms were beautiful, newly decorated with modern bathrooms, but no handrails in the shower and dirty shower mat. Tea and coffee plentiful. Not enough drawer storage for a weeks stay. There were 47 people on our coach but the lounge area in the hotel only had seating for about 20 people so could'nt sit and chat like in a Leisureplex hotel Trips out were fine especially Blenheim. But Bicester Luxury Boutique village was totally inappropriate for a coach load of OAP's. Lovely place if you have millions to spend on all the luxury brands. So to close, not the right kind of holiday for your usual Alfa clientele.

Wyre valley trip very disappointing ...staying at Paddocks hotel not suitable for anyone with mobility problems the evening meal 6.00pm was far too early as not getting back from day trips until after 5.00pm most days...the evening meal was very poor limited choice and very unimaginative....entertainment consisted of a quiz or bingo...the seating in the dining room not very well thought out...the hotel has recently been refurbished and the rooms were very nice .

Came back yesterday (16-8-2025) from a fantastic 7 days staying at the Metropole Hotel in Torquay. Beautiful hotel, lovely friendly staff and great well portioned meals. Our waitress, Shannon always greeted us with a smile, as did all the staff. Our excursions were very good too! Unfortunately we were unable to have an Alfa coach and driver for the full holiday, but Andy from Redwoods Travel, was a lovely chap. Before we left. we booked next year's holiday to the Isle of Wight, next August, (deposit paid with my £50 Bingo win) as a joint celebration for my 70th birthday (4th) and hubby's 75th (15th) the day we arrived. Can't wait!! Thank you Alfa for another fantastic holiday, now to share my review on TripAdvisor! Mrs. Noreen Skelton
