On the 23rd July 2025 I booked the above holiday in good faith, I did this through your reservations team directly & purposely asked about parking and was assured there was ample parking. On arrival (Saturday 23rd August) it was obvious that the carpark was very small only accommodating 7 cars, when questioned at reception they advised me that this was the only carpark & staff used it as a priority & if there was any spaces left then hotel guests were then free to park there!! This was the first of many complaints that arose on our short stay at the Imperial Hotel, Ilfracombe. I will start with the positives:- 1. Hotel reception was basic but pleasant. Community area & bar well decorated & looked after. 2. The first restaurant was pleasant but the one at the back was very claustrophobic, no windows, no atmosphere, very much like a school canteen. 3. Staff were lovely, very friendly & polite particularly Sarah on reception & Ethan the waiter. 4. The evening entertainment was adequate. (We were told that the above areas that I have mentioned had not long been refurbished so it was no surprise that they were more acceptable than the rest of the hotel!!) Negatives:- 1. Although the manager was pleasant & polite I feel she was a little inexperienced as she had no adequate or any positive comments to make to us. 2. The bedroom (which did have a sea view) was very very dated, not clean at all, sweets, wrappers, dust etc was found under beds & behind bedside cabinets. 3. The bathroom too was very dated, the bath & the shower screen were covered in rust & grime. 4. The short time we were there our room was never serviced & when we reported this to the manager she apologised, said she would deal with this & check every day that our room had been serviced - this never happened. 5. On our first night the toilet got blocked, when reported it was looked at whilst we out for the day, that night the bottom of the toilet leaked badly, we put towels down & reported it first thing. Once again whilst we were out somebody came and put sealant around the bottom (a job very badly done). Upon our arrival back to our room later on that day our bedroom door had been left wide open with all our personal belongings there for anybody to find plus the bathroom floor had not been cleaned it was still covered in brown stains (obviously the manager never checked as previously promised)- disgusting!! Once again we reported all this to the manager who shrugged her shoulders & asked what we would like her to do!! 6. The food was atrocious, I think prison food would have been better, one night we even resorted to eating out at Wetherspoons! (The breakfast was not as bad, not a lot of choice but adequate). To say our holiday was ruined is an absolute understatement, so much so we left on the Wednesday (27th) morning & found alternative accommodation out of Ilfracombe. It has taken us over a week to get over this ordeal & for me to actually face putting my complaints in writing, it has been like reliving a nightmare. Some of these complaints were not just our experiences other guests felt exactly the same but were restricted because they had come by coach. I would also like to add that my friend & myself will never ever be booking a coach or self drive holiday again with Alfa & needless to say we would not recommend you to anybody else, our experience has been so bad it has made us very wary about who we can now trust when seeking holiday accommodation etc.

Staying at the Regina hotel in Torquay. It's the worst hotel for disabled people I have ever been to, there are so.many stairs to combat, even though there is a tiny four person lift. Also noisy from the bar area entretainment, if you can call it that. Won't bother coming back

Alfa Travel - Cliffe Norton Hotel Tenby -Disgusting company without care or responsibility Hotel arrival could not have been more shocking. When booking it was clear and specific on room requirements, this was also confirmed after booking and prior to arrival. It was nothing special about the requirements and should easily have been dealt with, however this was declined and most certainly not dealt with, also a refusal to supply the head office CEO name or contact details. The rooms were not next to each other or even close, bear in mind we were there to accompany an elderly 82 year old who was charged an excessive amount given the closet of a room allocated, this was barely big enough for a small bed only also up several flights of stairs. The other room I can only suggest is some kind of converted area, most likely a female toilet. It was not quiet, it was dark, attached to male hotel toilets and shared the access door to the male toilets with a make shift sign on an A4 sheet of paper stuck to the door. The room had two very small windows that were not suitable or even both reachable, had horrid blinds to prevent total exposure of being viewed from the windows by the lift. The other no view at all and right on top of a flat roof and gulley. If the windows were open the nice sound of the hotel extraction systems from kitchen and likely the heating were very apparent, the hotel toilets in constant use and cleaned after midnight. The Bathroom was fine, however the shower was not thermostatically controlled and therefore varied pressure and temperatures (this I learned was apparent and experienced by several others in different rooms) meaning showering not pleasant and could be either cold, Luke warm, warm, or scalding during each showering experience. The smoke detector fitted at the end of bed was constantly flashing a bright light approximately every minute, the rain water pipework not connected and water gushing loudly onto the roof space, also window allowed rain in as so close to the flat roof. All sent to CEO of Alfa Travel Ltd, they confirmed receipt and confirm a response in 30 days. To conclude sleep and accommodation were extremely poor, not fit for purpose in many ways. Clearly rooms should not be used for paying guests and charging extra. Note also made aware of others booking very last minute and getting double room for single occupant. Jan the manager of Cliffe Norton Hotel Tenby is clearly care free, unprofessional and a pure liar. This may well conform to company policy and seemingly acceptable by Emma Russel Plus points - Majority of staff very pleasant and hard working. especially noticeable in the dinning room. Sleep quality is a minus 10 and Alfa care even poorer. It appears Alfa Travel actions and responses may have to form a huge consideration for booking next one. Alfa Travel complaints procedure is to lie, deny, ignore, not take any responsibility and instead reply saying the company policy is not to accept any abuse or aggression (none of which was most certainly given by any of our party) and that the decision is to not take further bookings which would be unlikely in any case based on this. This is the most unprofessional customer services ever and unacceptable. I have asked again for CEO to Emma Russel to reply as so far she has not and instead instructed someone else who simply came back with unacceptable nonsense. I wonder what they said about the poor chap Roy who was quite badly injured by a faulty lift. Perhaps he was ignored or accused of other things. Have photos but site would not upload

Very poorly maintained place. The guy in charge of maintenance and building repairs is definitely getting a back hand. Very shady work.

It states in the new Brochure NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENTS on standard rooms. Everytime i ring up to book no matter how early i do it theres always a supplement? You should not state this if it is not true. There are an awful lot of Solo travellers and we get fed up of being misleaded.

Were do I start, upon arriving at woodhall, told got 10 minutes before having to leave, then driver acted like he didn't know what he was doing, worried about his tachograph not his passengers, only one 40 minutes stop on way to Fort William,3 times tried to stop for a toilet stop, but all closed, then missed turn off for hotel, when arriving at hotel had to take own bags to room, ordered 2 celebration packages for my wife(which come until next day)had 35 minutes before evening meal, which was horrible, first day excursion to tobermory, couldn't get on booked on ferry because driver didn't tell em we was booked on,so had to wait 1 hour longer, day to ourselves was best say.Day trip to Skye was a waste of time, why stop for a coffee on way there,5 and a half hours travelling for 2 hours and 10 minutes to ourselves was a joke.Journey home was a joke.left on time, then decided to stop for 15 minutes for a toilet break, get to services and driver tells us we have 30 minutes to eat toilet and have a drink,he was more worried about feeder coaches than his own passengers, then arriving back at woodhall, told we had to go toilet and straight on feeder coaches,so no time for a drink again.Avoid Croit Anna hotel at all costs, only good thing was our waitress and of you go with Alfa and Keith of Sleafordian is your driver, then good luck, mote like a bus driver than a coach driver only gave 1 star because I couldn't give none

Got a phone call a few hours before our holiday telling us the only lift was not working , infact had been out of action several days . We were offered no change of venue or date we had 54 steps to our room . We are all elderly , one using one stick and has balance problems following a stroke one uses two sticks because of rheumatoid arthritis and ankle tendinitis and one has severe heart problems .we had requested showers instead of baths but were not told to go into detail about all our health problems .we were basically told to get on with it . Obviously profit is more important than caring for their clients welfare

On arrival at the monarch hotel in Bridlington i was allocated room 403 and on my entry i felt sick the room was a health and safety hazard it was disgusting i went to reception to ask for another room but was told there was no more available reported all issues but fell on deaf ears unfortunately then i emailed Alfa travel with a formal complaint and all photos while i was still at the hotel but had no response from them until Saturday 29th June just as my coach arrived at Tamworth services which i thought was very amusing as i had now left the hotel they informed me that the manager had said that the room was fine before i arrived so I'm not quite sure what they are trying to insinuate i did take some other guests into my room and they couldn't believe i was staying at the same hotel one couple kindly fetched there camera and took some photos of everything and i also took photos myself but Alfa appear to have not received all of them because they say i sent them in the wrong format but all the photos were sent together so i find this very confusing i have 2 more holidays booked this year but i will be cancelling these because i think when you have been disrespected like this they do not deserve your custom i would rather loose my deposit than give them any more money that i have worked all my life for and saved for my retirement i am 70 yrs old and if this is how they treat the elderly it's very disrespectful my family are helping me now to take this further and if needed legal action nothing more to say

If Alfa Travel advertised the exact pick up points and zig zagging across the UK no one would book anything with them...8 hour trip from Portsmouth to Torquay and 10 hour trip from Northampton to Torquay....basic hotels and food...hotel was shocking but nice bed and hot shower. Food was low quality and inedible at times so ate out....lots of health and safety issues with this hotel re outside access by fire door being held open by bit of string and rusty nail....hotel needs knocking down and rebuilding. Will never travel with this company again... disappointing

Tour Ref 218EC, Eastbourne 03SEP23 In a heatwave, Alfa supplied a coach with broken air conditioning. Most passengers were pensioners, but Alfa did NOT supply free bottles of water, and the driver, Russell, did NOT open the roof hatches, thus denying us adequate ventilation. Russell was selling water for 80p (other Alfa drivers charge 50p). On the 5th day it was so hot that I was gulping air and crying on the coach. I told the driver on the 6th day that I thought I was going to die. He was rude and said “it’s not just you, everyone is hot” and we were “lucky to have the blowers (vents above the seats)” as he “didn’t even have that”. The single open window was next to his seat. The coach manual says the cabin temperature is displayed on the dashboard. It was obvious how much everyone was sweating. Travelling home, the outside temperature reached 33 C. We only had the small vents giving weak, warm airflow. We travelled for 2.25 hours without a break, then stopped for an hour when we were 30-40 minutes from the interchange. I was now gulping air, crying, and having stomach cramps, thinking “is this how dogs feel in hot cars?” The trauma stayed with me, and I had to have CBT/EMDR therapy. We complained to Alfa who apologised for the “discomfort” and claimed that "the driver did everything he could to try and provide additional cooling to the coach". Having asked repeatedly why the roof hatches were not opened, and what steps Russell did take to cool the coach, they repeat the same nonsense script (given to them by their lawyer, no doubt), ignored, or told they have “responded appropriately and thoroughly”. They have not. There is a dispute. We asked twice to enter arbitration. They refused. They even implied that I am the liar. They claim we are the only ones who have complained. (I read that the Post Office (scandal 2024) tried that one on, too). We asked about the feedback cards from the hotel which had a section about the coach, that question was ignored. Our holiday was ruined unnecessarily. We could have had a full day in Brighton, as advertised, if Russell had wanted (we had less than 3 hours off the coach). We could have been comfortable, if he had opened the roof hatches. He could have been concerned, not confrontational, when alerted that a passenger was finding the extreme heat distressing. We hope our fellow passengers stayed well, did not suffer dehydration from sweating, or any complications from the heat. All we wanted was a nice holiday, as advertised. Our only recourse is legal action. If you want to gamble with your time, money, and wellbeing, then do book an Alfa holiday. So much can go wrong, and if it does you will not see your money again unless you go to court. Alfa practices this tactic all the time judging by the reviews, so best book with a decent company that does care about its customers.

First time with Alpha and third for my mother. The hotel in Criceith very poor, cracked dirty windows, mattresses stored at the front of the hotel against a window. Food terrible, frozen produce. Lounge area scruffy and the hotel smells of damp. On our last day up at 6.30 am to leave suit case outside hotel door, breakfast not until 8am, coach doesn't leave until 9.30. We live 3 hours from Criceith however, it will 3pm before we arrive at Burton wood. Who organises the travel arrangements hasnt got a clue. Am afraid it will be my first and last trip with Alpha. Awful 😞
