This is a response to Amplifies response A loose part on a toy is a choking hazard and H & S would be all over that. Why is acceptable to have lugs come off a hearing aid in an ear canal which necessitated two emergency GP surgery visits and nearly hospital. You say it is rare but the fact they come off is wrong let alone blaming somebody for pushing them in to hard. You then gave mum another style instead of offering a refund but they were completely unsuitable.Mum has narrow canals and they block up quickly within days and require filter cleaning.Mum cannot clean the filters as she has claw hands and arthritis as well as being registered disabled. You advise that a consultant checks she can fit and clean at time of providing yet it was patently clear by the state of her hands that she could not manage. It is wrong of a sales company to say get another family member to do it especially when Mum lives alone.Your latest offer to clean involves her taking the packet to the post office and sending special delivery which is expensive. Not really practical when filters need changing every 7 days so you would be without for several days per month. It is clear that these were not fit for the specific customer and should not have been provided but targets and profits before customers-Disgusted with attitude of customer services

Dear Mr Woodall, Again thank you for raising this issue. It is important to point out that there are currently only 2 types of hearing aid fittings available. Those that fit behind the ear which were the first style supplied to Mrs Woodall and those that fit inside the ear. Mrs Woodall initially coped well with the behind the ear fitting, however as soon as we were informed of the dome becoming detached these were exchanged without delay to the in the ear style. Mrs Woodall did not request a refund at anytime as her priority appeared to be the need to hear and no concerns were raised by Mrs Woodall in respect of the benefits of either set of hearing aids. Again we would point out that basic maintenance of the aids such as cleaning, changing batteries and wax filters must be carried out as often as necessary. We have offered to assist Mrs Woodall in whatever way feasible. As Mrs Woodall has home visits we are prepared to offer any assistance that is practical by calling out to see her when possible, however it would be most helpful if Mrs Woddall has a carer that they also assist Mrs Woodall with the general maintenance of her aids to ensure that she is not without than for longer than necessary.

Mum now aged 91 had aids fitted that resulted in two trips to GP who nearly had to send her to A @ E as lugs came off in her ear twice They changed them for a different style as a"gesture of goodwill" for another style which went into ear more.Mum's ear canals are narrow get waxed. Apparently she has to clean filters every 7 days.Supposedly at assessment they check to ensure that customer can clean, but given mum has trigger fingers and clawed hand through arthritis not a very good check.Mum told the lady who came out to visit that this was happening and she couldn't hear as a consequence.Eventually we wrote to customer services who gave us what I would consider to be a dismissive couple of letters back.I rang up and the lady I spoke to was the most arrogant person I have ever experienced in any customer services with a customer empathy count of less than zero.At the end of the day they have sold and persisted with hearing aids that cannot be managed by the customer

Dear Mr Woodall, We can see in 2014 that Mrs Woodall was supplied with a pair of hearing aids that fit behind the ear as these were the most suitable for her level and type of hearing loss. Unfortunately 12 months following the fitting of this style of hearing aid Mrs Woodall reported that the tulip dome that fits on the end of the receiver had become detached on 2 separate occasions. Whilst such occurrences are rare it can happen from time to time and is usually caused by the dome being pushed too far into the ear canal. In order to avoid a recurrence of this problem Amplifon exchanged the hearing aids to a design that fits inside the concha of the ear. This style aid has no dome, however cleaning and maintenance needs to be attended to regularly due to the environment surrounding this style of hearing aid. We understand that this has been an issue for Mrs Woodall and Amplifon have offered to carry out the maintenance for her wherever possible and suggested that the aids be returned by post in order for this maintenance to be carried out. We have also suggested that a family member be present so that the general cleaning and maintenance of the aid can be demonstrated in order to assist Mrs Woodall. It is important that we point out the logistical difficulty any hearing aid supplier would encounter if the supplier is then expected to carry out weekly or daily visits to a customer to carry out basic maintenance. If contact our customer services team on 0161 209 7008 for any further assistance.

This review is about Peter Barlow at Chichester branch: He's the best audioligist I have encountered, and, due to my particularly tricky hearing loss (auto immune inner ear disease) I have tried quite a few. Some were good and tried hard, others made minimal effort to get the best hearing aid for me. Peter however was the most understanding and also the most 'on the ball' from the technical side of things. He even downloaded an article for me which was very kind of him given that I didn't buy any hearing aids from Amplifon in the end - BUT once I get to the stage of needing hearing aids, (i.e. my hearing is stable) Peter is the practioner I will return to since I trust him completely not just to 'shift product' but to try to get the best possible hearing quality for you.

I have had my hearing aids for over 2 years from Epsom Branch and couldn't praise them enough from Oonah the receptionist to Simon the specialist he was very experienced and very knowledgable,He took a great deal of time and patience to reassure me well done.I recently recommended a friend to him and she purchased expensive aids on 29th Feb still waiting for MS vouchers for recommending new sale.Only other issue recently had to return 1aid with a problem and the cost£99aids are just over 2 years old I do think it is a very high cost to pay I know they are then covered for 6 months but if I have problem with other one another£99!!!!

PLEASE READ AND THINK.!!!!! I used amplifon at Walsall after seeing it on the internet. OH BUGGAR,,,, What a mistake, I had my aids fitted seemed very professional while they were taking £700 pounds from me, HOWEVER, I found out since paying the horrendous amount for the aids, not only were they of no use due to very little or no difference, I found that they wriggled out and I had to keep pushing them back in again,, I mentioned this to their head office and is all I got was ```WELL what do you want us to do attitude``` I found the after care content zero, and not only that they only supply 12 batteries per year , any more you have to pay for, Hence they don't supply enough to last the year till the first service,`` What ever that is`` mine did not work long enough to get that far, Then I find out that you have to pay for any repairs supply of batteries and any alterations,,, GOSH they don't give anything for the money but by Christ they take take take, I eventully went to NHS, oh my god what a difference, they care ,,I got a hearing test my aids supplied and fitted, service every 6 months ALL batteries, tubing, and moulds, supplied free and a helpful support line, TRUST me go NHS DO NOT TRUST AMPLIFON, I cant stress enough you have being warned,,, They advertise Saturday opening, check out Walsall they are closed, no offer is available for help out side hours, even though they offer home visits, NOT EVEN IF THEIR STAFF LIVE ON THE SAME ESTATE, ,,, BAD BAD COMPANY,,, LEAVE THIS COMPANY WELL, WELL, ALONE...

Dear Dr Norton thank you for your feedback. We regret that you have been unhappy with both the service and hearing aids supplied by Amplifon. However there a number of inaccuracies in your comments which we would like to address. Our records indicate that your hearing aids were fitted on 13th November 2014. Your particular hearing system includes the Ampli- solutions Gold package which entitles you to 2 years free warranty to cover repairs and 2 packs of batteries per year per hearing aid 24 in total. All additional packs of batteries can be purchased at a cost of 99pence per pack. The package includes lifetime aftercare for the life of the hearing aid details of what the aftercare includes was supplied at the time of purchase. Having received no further contact from you following the fitting informing us of any problems you were contacted by Amplifon in April this year for your first aftercare appointment, however this was rejected at which time you reported that you had since acquired hearing aids from the NHS and requested a refund on the aids purchased from Amplifon. We would still very much like the opportunity to assist you with your hearing aids and would recommend that you contact the branch that supplied your hearing system and they will do all they can to address any problems you may be experiencing.

Crap company, 1600 pounds sterling for 2 hearing aids from the Chichester branch. Yes I did have 2 weeks trial but it was not long enough, I never got to grips with the settings and in the end I just got fed up with trying to make the system work so I could hear properly. After one stopped amplifiying and the new lady assistant just cleaned the mic (not the speaker) and said it was ok but it wasnt, I decided Id had enough. Particularly difficult for me was wind noise when outside and background noise in social circumstances. Yes they did ask me back every 6 months but the adjustments did not produce an improvement to my listening. Total waste of money. John Foster

e can see that your hearing aids are now 5 years old and since the fitting no issues were raised. The Ric on one of your hearing aids was replaced in 2012 and a further replacement on the other aid was necessary in 2014. We have tried to contact you to invite you in for further aftercare but our records now state that you have moved from the address we hold on record with no forwarding address. We would very much like to continue to offer our assistance and would suggest that you contact our Customer Services department on 0161 209 7008.

I have used Amplifone hearing aids successfully for two years now. For the last few months Kingston upon Thanes Branch (my nearest branch) have offered poor service. A locum, who did not know what he was doing. Closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday each week. And now, 10.20am on Monday, no one answered the phone . WHAT IS GOING ON THERE! I am going away at the end of this week, for a month, and I need (and the locum allegedly ordered, the small fine plastic ear ends for the ends of my hearing aids BEFORE I leave the UK! HELP!!

We regret the issues you have experienced with the Kingston branch, but can assure you that we are working hard to resolve the problem. In the meantime all calls are being diverted to the Customer Services department and we will arrange for one of our alternative branches to assist you.

Visited the Colwyn bay branch after poor service from Specsavers and Ormerods (Boots). After a 5 minute chat about my issues with the other companies , Mr Williams provided me with a solution . He went on to do a thorough test which included word tests, demonstrated some aids and gave me options of solutions. At no point did he try to sell me anything, I made my own mind up. I have now have my aids for 2 months and am amazed at them and especially the fact I can take phone calls on them. The after service is excellent and friendly. All branches will vary depending on the dispenser but if you are in North Wales, go visit this branch.

Bought my hearing aids 7 years ago. Never got on well with them. Too loud or too quiet and did not feel comfortable. In loud company I could hear better without them. On the 6 monthly check ups they were adjusted but still not right. The last year they have been trying to sell me new aids but why spend £2000 for a product that I am not happy with. I decided to go National Health. I was seen within 3 minutes of appointed time at Maidstone Hospitaland 45 minutes later walked out with a pair of hearing aids which I have worn 16 hours a day since. NO CHARGE and free batteries which last 14 days - 4 times as long as amplifon. Worn the aids for 4 weeks before posting this review. A very happy NH 'customer'.

I can't praise the Chichester shop enough. I was nervous about having my hearing tested but Peter Barlow and his staff quickly put me at ease. Everything was fully explained and no pressure was put on me to buy the most expensive hearing aids, "which I didn,t". After the fitting of my aids I had a couple of slight problems Peter was only to happy to help me. I would recommend Amplithon and in particular the Chichester branch to anybody. Thank you for helping me hear clearly for the first time in years.

I went into the Amplifon store on the Lisburn Road, Belfast to get hearing aid cleaning products. Upon entering the girl at the desk looked at me like I should not even be there and was completely unhelpful. She had no clue about any of the products despite me telling her the name of it, finally after she found it she then said she had no change and so I should go to a shop and get change, I was not allowed or offered to use the card machine sitting right beside her. I ordered something of Boots which I would have done in the first place if I knew that customer service clearly isn't thought highly of despite serving people who have hearing loss and would appreciate a bit of understanding.
