“Don't buy a car from Arnold Clark. I bought one recently, as soon as I drove out of the forcourt, the engine warning light came on. I was told I'd get a full refund, after leaving the car with the garage, I was told the next day they wouldn't accept the car back. After having the car for 30 days, I experience the engine warning light on AGAIN!! Took it to an independent garage which they confirmed and did a report showing the engine warning light still on, and noticed an oil leak, issues with the steering rack and other minor problems. Arnold Clark have accepted these faults but still won't give me a full refund although I have rights if the car is faulty within 30 days. The Manager at Arnold Clark Stretford and Customers Services have been rude, dismissive, not listening to what I have to say!! Its shocking how I've been treated and am still fighting for a full refund. Considering this is a main dealer and I wanted extra security when purchasing a car, it hasn't worked out I don't have any faith in a main dealer now.”
“Well where ro start the fact we were mis sold a car being told the paint work was pristine but when it arrived from Huddersfield there are chips and scratches everywhere. No tyre repair kit no spread tyre the towing eye has been removed the tyres have chunks out it. We were told the car would be transported up and it was drive adding 200 + miles on the clock the manager Sonny at Huddersfield stating david apologised for saying that the car was pristine as if that make a difference him refusing to properly repair the car the tyres were not replaced the head of business stuart copeland not replying to any email however we have heard that he is not great to deal with which I am surprised t considering his position in the company. When we asked for a refund being told we can't it's against company policy its against policy to fix the paint the properly it really doesn't show a good picture of arnold clark as a company also missing buttons and loose buttons from the inside . As it's arnold clarks policy to not help in any way it is my policy to name every one of these unhelpful arrogant workers at arnold clark Huddersfield on social media I will tag and clark in it so you can have a watch and see the comments you might need to tell the staff at this place as I will be using full names! This will be true facts only nothing else so if thus Brancepeth have nothing to hide and are happy with the service they have provided they they should be over the moon with the review”
“I brought a vauxhall meriva in March 2022 ,within a week it had a electrical problems with a code 68 fault, it was returned to arnold clark which they kept for 3 weeks .I was told this problem was intermittent, we have been plague with this fault for 2 years now ,so I decided to mot and service to sell it ,only to find the mileage was tampered with in 2015 ,so arnold clark illegal sold me a car that as been clocked, I have contacted them but with over two weeks with no response, and it's illegal to sell the car myself
.so my next port of call is trading standards, don't get stung like I did ,I feel scammed and have a worthless car I can't sell”
“Shocking shocking shocking shocking. What else can I say oh yea shocking. Many many issues with My car from day 1 possible 7 or 8 visits on different issues. Over a few month. They put a oart on my car that didn't need it then 14 months later that part failed bottom suspension arm . Obviously I got it fixed at my local garage across from where I work . Rang Doncaster up n he said he would try get intouch with warranty to see if get money back on new part as only done 10k since getting it. To be told no can do . They don't want to know you once they get your money n signed on the .... line. I put a complaint in to the head office to be told I have an attitude problem. Please keep away from any arnald clark”
“One Star too many... My sister passed away in January and I was left to deal with here estate and from the sale of her car then pay for her funeral. Arnold Clark is quite close to me so I went there to enquire about on them buying it. I thought it strange but when speaking to Kieran who dealt with such transactions was met with an indifference and seemed he had no desire to process the deal due to there being no Will, . I shrugged this off and persevered and he then asked for my solicitor to contact him with the details I needed, I duly did so. I have no idea what happens behind the scenes or what the processes are.... so I waited for contact. I was grieving ,had health issues and was coming under pressure from several angles, I was totally stressed out. Weeks went by and there was still no word so I phoned them , they said that the details had timed out and I would have to start again....no mention of why they had not contacted me. In the mean time the value of the cad dropped by over a thousand pounds, this due to the MOT expiring. They car had only travelled 1 mile since the previous MOT and this is not taken into account. I am now wondering if the costs of the funeral and the solicitors fees will be covered. I put my trust in others and they let me down, I am still trying to go ahead and no-one has contacted me yet...so I will have to chase them up again and in the mean-time the price can drop again. Their office is in Armadale West Lothian”
“My daughter bought a car from Arnold Clark in Aberdeen, 3000 more than the market value we have since discovered, 7 months later it needs a fortune spent on it to make it road worthy. Emailing and phoning constantly to no avail. Disgusting 🙄”
“We went looking for a new motobility car was told to take a seat and someone would be there, we sat for a while coffee machine next to us, didn't even get offered a cup while we sat and waited on the sales person after about 25 minutes we walked out and gave them a wee tip on how to treat prospective customers, there loss.”
“Bought a 2 year old hyundai kona mhev with just under 3000 miles on it. 76 days later the car stalled/shut down at 55mph on a busy dual carriageway with my kids on board. Called the branch, Hamilton road Vauxhall who told me to take it to my nearest hyundai garage (parks ek). Parks have advised that they car has had this major fault numerous times & was repaired by the previous owner in a Shrewsbury garage. The branch are now ignoring me & hyundai are trying to resolve it. DO NOT go to Arnold clark. This happened to me with a previous nearly new car from Alexandra parade Arnold clark & the car needed a new engine. The buy lemons & sell them to people then do not care! Greedy corrupt mob!”
“Reserved a car after paying a deposit and had an appointment to go to showroom and they sold it to someone else, no notification or phone call I phoned on the off chance to make sure it was okay before I made my journey, couldn’t care only wanted to do a deal on another car”
“I sent my car for MOT at Arnold Clark ford garage Kilmarnock and I wish I had read these reviews before I wouldn’t have wasted my time. They actually don’t have a good reputation with their customers and what u hear is I have been lied to or cheated even stolen from. It’s surprising u get sold all the after care products and warranties then u yield nothing out of them. I was sold a two year warranty but my car had its own manufacturer warranty. I got quoted whatever amount and they couldn’t repair my car in time and I wasn’t feeling the vibe and genuinely I need my car for work and I wouldn’t afford to hire a car for four weeks. I then ended up collecting my car after phoning Tesla and they guaranteed me that they would fix the car if I request for the service through my TESLA APP.
I collected my car after a week and surprisingly, it only took Tesla two days to come out and fix my car. I never needed to go out, I had a home visit from a well mannered gentleman who is well trained to do his job and then comes out and do what he is trained to do. It only took this gentleman less than an hour to fix the car and my receipt was zero charges because the manufacturer warranty was still valid and covering the costs.
I hope Arnold Clark pays his front line workers a fortune for them to cause all the turmoil I felt when reading all these reviews.”
“Having been to at least six Arnold Clark dealerships today in Glasgow , the vehicles are scratched, dented and damaged with little service history , personally I would give them a very wide berth and visit a reputable dealer, which is what I shall do”
“I ordered a van from Arnold Clark which was delivered to Southampton, this process took about 10 days, when arriving to view the vehicle I found a fault where petrol fumes were going into the cab, this was then sent to Citroen to be fixed which took another 10 days and I was told I could collect Friday, worse case Monday, Monday came and I rang the branch to be told they could not collect the van now until Tuesday, this would be collected between 9-10 am, Tuesday and I have not heard anything
Frustrated that you have to keep ringing them 😟”
“Where do wee start with this mob ,,,,,,, bought a van in June last year at the cost £20500 put a deposit of £9200 down on it from there Hillington van centre,,,,, now on ma 6th major problem with the van!!!!! Got a ten month warranty only to figure out it doesn’t cover any of the faults the van had ,,,,,,, 3 DPF problems at the price of 2K paid by me then the turbo went another 800 quid now got the van back Tuesday this week and guess what it’s back in again on Friday engine fault repair needed which was already meant to be fixed absolute rogues avoid at all costs”
“Mixed Experience at Arnold Clark Doncaster - Amidst Repair Challenges and delayed refunds.
My journey with Arnold Clark's Doncaster branch has been a rollercoaster of emotions, marked by significant challenges yet tempered with exceptional support from certain staff members. Dealing with over £1,000 worth of damage on a used Tesla and ongoing repairs after purchasing a car early Feb period has been taxing, not to mention the delays in refunds and service updates. However, amidst these obstacles, the dedication of Cat from the service centre (Leeds) and Shannon and manager Debbie from the warranty team shines brightly. Their efforts in escalating and addressing my concerns, which have persisted now for over a month, are commendable and deserve recognition.
The core issues began with the discovery of wind noise while driving at speeds over 50mph OS door after purchasing the vehicle, which prompted an investigation request. Furthermore, the wing mirror was damaged in the showroom, despite confirmation from the Doncaster branch, this has left me waiting for repairs. Adding to the list, the driver's window presents a draft and noise issue at speeds above 50 mph, compounded by a damaged inside manual driver door handle noted. Although I reported these problems expecting timely repair, the wing mirror replacement part, promised for delivery to my home address, has yet to arrive.
Other concerns include a non-functional mobile battery charger connector and unsightly glue stains underneath the driver's seat and a refund for a wall charger. These issues not only diminish the driving experience but also reflect poorly on the post-sale support quality.
In summarising my experience, the commendable customer service from specific individuals cannot be overstated. Cat and Shannon's proactive approach in dealing with my concerns provided a glimmer of hope in an otherwise frustrating situation. Their empathy and diligence in escalation are the silver linings in this ordeal.
However, the broader picture reveals significant room for improvement in handling repairs, parts delivery, and overall communication and treating customers fairly. A more streamlined and efficient process would not only enhance customer satisfaction but also bolster the reputation of Arnold Clark's Doncaster branch who passed all concerns to Leeds, now the warranty team are resolving all issues. I highlight, If the vehicle wasn’t taken to Tesla for inspection I would have fallen out of warranty making the claim for damages difficult to pursue.
In conclusion, while I am grateful for the outstanding customer service from Cat and Shannon, the persistent issues and delays ongoing highlight a need for systemic changes. Addressing these areas could transform customer experiences from poor to exceptional, reinforcing trust and loyalty towards Arnold Clark.”
“From start to finish the salesman, customer service and rudeness. At the time of purchase was made to wait for hours on four occasions. Promises were made which weren’t fulfilled. Was told they would provide floor mats for the car which I didn’t get for over three months. That even after numerous phone calls. Promised they would call back but never did!!
I was told that the car was serviced and after 10 months the warning lights came in the car that I needed oil and filter changed!!
Salesman Ronnie Greig was rude before and after purchase. He was biased and treated me badly being of Indian origin.
Criminals and cowboys!! Wow never purchase another car from them”
“I went to the Morecambe branch, in order to look for a car. Unfortunately, I couldn't park on the road, and customer parking didn't exist. Sorry, buying online now.”
“Paid £500 for Auto Care, having problems with the adblue ,I called Arnold Clark Peugeot they can look at my car in six weeks, called 6 local garages they are not interested in looking at the car as it has Auto Care on it can't believe I have to fix this myself and pay for it, what a waste of time having auto care”
“DO NOT TRUST ARNOLD CLARK PERTH.
Arnold Clark deserve ZERO stars.
When buying a new car you want 3 vital things: reliability, safety and security. My nearly new Peugeot offers none of these. But Arnold Clark don't care - they just take your cash to hit their monthly targets and walk away. After the sale they refuse to resolve issues despite selling you a lemon - even when the car is one of their own registered vehicles and is under Peugeot's manufacturer warranty. Shockingly bad service. Arrogant, disrespectful Perth General Manager who hides in his office. Rude sales team who just try to sell you another, lesser car to help them hit their next target. Rude servicing staff who speak to you like you're an idiot. Useless mechanics who repeatedly take the car in to fix the issue only to return it with a new one. They can never work out and fix the problem even though they take your car away for days at a time... a whole week last time! Arnold Clark can't repair locally either, instead they expect you to drive miles and miles away to other Arnold Clark garages in Scotland. You have to take more and more time off work and chase constantly. With no courtesy car you're expected to find your own way back from the other side of the country by bus, train or taxi. In the beginning Arnold Clark Stirling staff even advised me to complain to Head Office at the poor level of service from Perth!! Having already had to take so much time off work and having already had to shell out for multiple taxis, I have given up on Arnold Clark and been forced to go to another local dealer - staff there are not at all surprised by my negative experience! Only wish I had known of Perth Arnold Clark's poor local reputation before I parted with my hard earned cash! Arnold Clark's level of customer service is wholly unacceptable. I regret buying from Arnold Clark. I will never buy from or hire from Arnold Clark again. Buyer beware - please do your due diligence and think twice about buying from Arnold Shark!!”
“The service manager at Linwood Kia was unpleasant because I questioned how long it would take for a service and MOT despite having paid for a service plan and MOT in advance I was told to take my car somewhere else if I was not happy I'm looking for money back since the customer service I received was nasty”
