“The bench is extremely well made, beautiful and sturdy. It would give it a 5 star review except the instructions are not clear at all - no text and just cryptic drawings. Both wood dowels and screws are provided, but it is not clear where to use the screws. There are predrilled screw holes in a few places where we did use them. I called customer service and they said just use dowels not screws. But after I sent a photo of the instructions, the rep was then not sure. He finally said that he didn’t know what to tell me. Someone at this company needs to actually assemble the bench themselves and update the instructions with what they learn. Also, regardless of how carefully we tapped in the dowels, the dowels split and smashed flat because they are longer than the predrilled holes and wood used for the dowels is very soft. If the company addresses these issues, the bench would be perfect!”

“Very happy with the chairs I ordered. Extremely well packed. I took a star because I feel the directions to put together are misleading at best. To pull the pieces together tight enough you really need to use clamps. And any time you use dowels you need to use wood glue as well. There were probably 3 dowels I could only get halfway in. None went in flush- there was about 1/4-3/8" that I needed to flush trim and sand. Having said that the wood is smooth and well put together. A video would be helpful. Then I could see how they get this together without clamps and drive the dowels in all the way.”

“Wear gloves when handling the grate, for I got cut by a steel sliver. The reflective plate does a good job of reflecting heat back into the room. It's a good product, and I would recommend it to someone with a fire place.”

“We ordered a teak cart however the one we received had a could have defects in the wood. We called customer service and they took care of us right away and we received the new cart in record time.”

“Overall, it's an impressive grill that I'll use for decades. However, the door hinge did not fit, so it took an hour with a file and rubber mallet to get it on.”

“Happy thus far shipping was quick. Pit had a slit dent bottom side. But know problem i deal with it. Not sure i it was ordered from scratch & dent section.”

“I bought teak chaise lounges for my pool. I like them and they were easy to put together. My only suggestions are that the bolt holes benefit from being counter bored, and it would be nice to have had a suggested cushion vendor who is familiar with the product. I would buy again.”

“The 32" Hemisphere Fire Pit arrived very quickly. It is everything that it was advertised,very well constructed. It was rather unstable on the stand, but with a little adjustment it fits just fine. The spark screen is well built and the pit works just great. We have used it almost every evening since we got it. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 as the grate is very flimsy and probably won't last but about a month. We consider it well worth the price and will definately check out Ash & Ember for other accessories.”

“Heavy duty. Beautiful finish. Great size. Only downside is I find the rebar style handles dont quite match the style and the fire grate at the bottom already warped after one fire. But a great pit.”

“I called to check on the status of the bench that I had ordered because the order was passed due and I hadn't received any delivery update status, and the receptionist answered with another name other than Ash and Ember. That was disconcerting because I thought that I might have been scammed ! Periodic updates about delivery would have been appreciated, especially since I paid extra for delivery service, otherwise I would have given 5 stars beause the bench is gorgeous, beautifully constructed with high quality teak.”

“I ordered a teak bench and 2 scratch and Dent teak 20" planters. I received the bench and 1 planter and am very satisfied with both. I was not told upfront that only one scratch and Dent was available even though I ordered and paid for two. I inquired after only receiving one and was told that was the only one available and you didn't know when another would be available which is completely understandable. My payment has been refunded. If I had known only one was available at the time I ordered I would have ordered one at regular price so I would have gotten a pair as planned. I purchased two plastic inserts for two planters from another company to protect the teak. I went back on your site quickly to order another planter and it appeared the price had gone up from the time I originally purchased and I would now have a shipping charge that I wouldn't have had if I had received two with the first order. It is still in my cart as I try to figure out if I want to spend the additional money or get additional products from you to avoid the shipping charge.”

“I love our new teak table! We have rotten a fair amount of complements in the days that we’ve had it. The only disappointment was that when we were building it some of the holes did not line up with the screws. We tried turning turning the table top 180 degrees to no avail. We were always left with one or two screws that would just would not go in. In the end, we left one hole without a screw and we hope that since the top is so heavy, it won’t matter in the long run.”
