It's disgusting how autonet make it so difficult to get through to notify of an accident .. It's bad enough having one than to be on hold for 30mins what a bad experience made worse

Once they get your business they never get back to you when you email them with your concerns. I have NOT received any email or post with details of my policy number etc. They just don't reply

After getting a quote through compare the market, we attempted to do the transaction online, alas we got an on-screen message to say that it couldn`t be done online and we had to call on a premium rate line, the website did say "we`ll call you back so it won`t cost you anything", we called, requested a call back, alas after 50 minutes no call back, so we rang again and the operator starts to go through the entire proposal on the phone, it was only after i interrupted the call to ask "why they hadn`t called back & how much the call was costing" (which isn`t on their website) it is infact 25p per minute, so all they are doing is keeping you talking to rack up a massive call charge. I`m not 100% sure but i`m pretty certain it is illegal to post a premium rate number on a website without displaying the call cost to the public. I asked about a refund of the cost of the call, i was told to put an itemised bill in the post along with a letter and it would be considered, ha, right oh. Shot yourselves in the foot really as my business owns four vans and two other cars. wont be using again

Good value for the money but when it comes to the after sales especially over the phone sadly this is very poor. Told one thing over the phone only to find out what your told is very different to what happens. Spent more time on the phone trying to sort out simple queries than with any company used in the past. This needs to be looked at for the business to be the best it can be.

£344 to insure my Skoda Fabia was I felt extortionate after previously paying £194 for my Suzuki Alto the previous year through Autonet. The ONLY reason I accepted was that I was to get a refund of £129 from discontinuing my insurance for my previous contract. Had I not gone with the new quote I was told I would only get £53 of the £129 because of costs however if I chose the quote for my new car £344 I would have the total amount £129 deducted from £344. I was asked if I was happy with the quote and I said NO but because I needed to insure the car quickly and hadn't got the time to search the market myself I went with the quote but........ I will NOT be going with Autonet next year as I am pretty sure I could have got a much better deal going to the market myself. I would like to point out that in all my years of driving I have NEVER made an insurance claim.

Hi Ann, Thank you very much for taking the time to get in touch and let us know about your experience with Autonet. Autonet are an insurance broker and work with various insurers to provide competitive premiums to the market place,. When a policy is purchased, it is a 12 month policy. If changes are made to this policy, for example, a change of vehicle, we look to see what is the best price offered by your existing insurer. If this is not competitive, we look to see what prices are available from other insurers. If a policy is cancelled, charges are made as per our terms of business. This would affect the refund that would have been offered to you. Please be assured that we do aim to provide competitive premiums and we do hope that you will consider Autonet again when your policy is due for renewal. Kind regards Nicola

I filled the details in online, but something wasn't correct so I called to make sure all was in order. The advisor was very good, but I did end up with two policies, got charged twice and still awaiting a refund after three weeks. Would I use them again? so far probably not.

Dear Mr Hart, Thank you for your comments, when paying over instalments there is an interest charge that applies. We make every effort to ensure this is clearly explained to our customers prior to purchase and I can only apologise if this came as a surprise. If you would like us to look into this further then please email us at reviewsites@autonetinsurance.co.uk Kind regards, David

I was unhappy with the process - it seems a further way to rip me off. I got my quote of go compare - rang you up to clarify details. I spent about 25 minutes going through all the details with an advisor - agreed the price. Then came the sting!. I was put through to the payment department which I thought was going to be a quick process. The new advisor then went through all the same details again and added another more money to the price (over £100 more at least - if not more). Don't see how this should happen. Also not happy that I get charged more money also as I only work part-time and only use my car about 2-3 times a month to travel to a sports ground. Don't even park outside the ground. It all feels very unfair. Also just realised that you have spelt my middle name wrong. Guess you will charge me more to pay that. Car insurance is just a rip off. My middle name in Kemal NOT Kenal.

Having obtained a quote through Confused.com I felt, despite giving the reference I had just been given on their site, I was starting the process all over again. I had rung purely because I had a small query. I had to wait a long time for a reply on the phone from autonet and another waiting for the credit dept. I then had to answer most of the questions again in order to pay. Checking credit status if fine but these were all the car related questions. This was annoying and time wasting but worse, I sent proof of ncb as an attachment with a note asking for confirmation. The next day I again asked for confirmation of receipt. About a week later I had an email saying my insurance would be cancelled in 7 days if they did not receive my ncb. Again no reply by email. I therefore rang again. At least this was answered more quickly but it took several waiting times for the person dealing with me to check emails and confirm it had been received. The excuse for delay 'there are a lot of people contacting us about ncb.' My first email had been received and all correspondence from me had full ref nos and car details. The whole experience was frustrating unlike the response of Allianz who had helped me source my details since they were lost after a computer crash since last year. Not the feedback you want I am sure.

My experience so far and been poor. I got a quote online and even though I had entered all my details online, when I called to complete payment I was asked every single detail again. (usually pretty standard) but then once I had done this I was passed to the payment department who insisted on asking me about every single detail a third time! I was quite annoyed by the end of the phone call and quite late for where I had arranged to be. At the start of the call, I was told to tell the operator if I didn't want to be contacted with offers, I did this and they assured me that wouldn't happen. Through the three days after paying for my insurance I received call after call from different numbers, all Auto Net, trying to sell me insurance. Despite having already bought some and having asked not to be contacted! Not Impressed! I hope if I ever have to claim that it won't be as painful as trying to buy insurance from them!

Hi Melody, Thank you very much for taking the time to get in touch and let us know about your experience with Autonet. I’m sorry to hear that you are not happy with all aspects of the service you received. At Autonet, we have a new business verification team, who check key pieces of information prior to the policy being purchased. This helps us to ensure that you are insured correctly and helps us to reduce fraud across the industry, which in turn, helps us to provide competitive products to the market place. Please accept my apologies if you were called after you requested no further marketing. I have now arranged for your name to be excluded from any further marketing calls. Kind regards Nicola

Ok service. However I was not able to complete the cover online, the next day I had to call and go through all the details with a representative. After then providing a price, which was more expensive for no explained reason I was redirected to another person to complete the purchase. However again I had to go through and confirm all the details before the cover was arranged. So a long winded procedure which ended up being a little more expensive than the quote originally given!

Dear Mr Ferris, Thank you very much for taking the time to get in touch and let us know about your experience with Autonet. Some of the insurers that we work with do require us to speak to customers over the phone. This helps us to ensure that we are providing the correct level of cover at the most competitive price we can. If there was any change in price this should have been explained to you. We will look into why this didn’t happen. In terms of the second adviser you spoke to, this will have been our new business verification team. Having this team enables us to check key pieces of information and helps us to reduce fraud across the industry, which in turns helps us to provide competitive premiums. If we can be of any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Kind regards Nicola

Althought the staff are helpful and knowledgable, there were long queues to get through and I got cut off after a long wait. When I decided to cancel the policy (within 24hours as current provider came up with better offer) was stung by an excessive admin fee. Reading the small print it seems I got off lightly as if I had waited until the policy started, then changed my mind, the fee jumps to 25% of the value of the policy! No exactly waht I would call "reasonable costs" So, be wary, better to go direct to your insurer or use another company.

Dear Mr Butler, Thank you very much for your comments about Autonet. When a policy is purchased, it is a 12 month policy. If this is cancelled before the end of the 12 months, charges are made to cover the costs incurred to Autonet. These charges are explained before the policy is purchased. I can see that your policy is now cancelled, but if we can be of any further assistance, please let us know. Kind regards Nicola

This insurance wasn't actually for me but my partner, unfortunately he got remanded in prison for no fault of his own before any documents could be sent off to validate his insurance, I tried to get a few more days in his behalf but the staff were very unhelpful, this was after being no 27 in the queue, I was then charged the cancelation fee of £80ish, not happy at all
