Went with go compatriots over one hundred pounds cheaper than other companies A week after cover had commenced I received a letter stating that they required a copy of my v5 driving licence for all drivers on the policy and a storybook dates in the last three months I contacted via telephone and explained that I had retired and that all utility bills were in my wife's name and the only things in my name were my on line bank account and my private pension statement. After a fraught conversation with the advisor I finally asked if my pension statement dates in the last three months would be acceptable the advisor stated that she would check buttocks not contact the insurance company but would e mail and then contact me. I then explained that had I realised at the time of inception of the policy that this info has been required I would not have taken up the policy until checking what they would accepr. In 40 years of insuring I have never been required to provides of the info requested by any other insurance company I then receive notification that my policy would be cancelled if I didn't comply even though I had not received any reply to confirm if my proof of addresses would be acceptable. To chat long story short I ended up cancelling my policy and after fourteen days of cover I am over one hundred pounds out of pocket.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY I took out car insurance online with this company for the first time via the Go Compare site. I tried to phone them several times over the next four days to check that the details on the online form were correct and got no reply. I didn't receive a confirmation email or any documents through the post so was already beginning to feel a bit uneasy about Autonet. When they finally called me, we discovered that a no fault claim from 2017 had been missed off the form thus adding £118 more to the quote. As if this wasn't bad enough, on top of it they wanted to charge me a £14.95 admin charge even though this was during the cool off period. I concluded if they were this difficult at the start of the process I had better get out now. They charged me £50.00 for cancellation and £4.83 for the cover even though I had been trying to cancel before and didn't go anywhere thanks to the lockdown. The insurance quote I finally received from another company was much cheaper, even taking into account the £50 fee they charged me. At a time when businesses are going out of their way to help customers due to COVID 19, this company's attitude is mind boggling. Shocking customer service! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

I absolutely hate how insurance companies do a credit check on you, just to give you a price (whether you take the quote or not). I shopped about for the best deal, not realising how many hard searches were being left on my credit rating. I don't care what any of them say, this does affect your credit rating, as the more searches you have, the worse your credit rating is affected. Even though I was paying in full, why on earth do they need to do a search??? Your license, NCB proof, etc all validate you are a legitimate person, there is absolutely no need for this at all.

Do not use!! Given the current economic crisis and job losses we are currently seeing Autonet insurance are morally not on the compass. I agreed a price on insurance through a third party comparison site. I declared no claims that were my fault in the last 5 years. Autonet counted a claim whereby someone crashed into my car when parked outside school 18months ago this claim was clearly not my fault and the 3rd party ins paid for repairs. But Autonet now want an extra £218 or £69 cancellation fee talk about daylight robbery. £218 extra at a time when I've just been furloughed money is tight solicitors are closed to get proof the 3rd party accepted liability. Only to be told tough, it is what it is. No extra time so you can contact your solicitor who is working from home and staff are short due to the current crisis, no I can see what has happened I'll look into it, Horrendous customer service. Bad attitude. Do not use!!

They cancelled my insurance policy and charged me £25 to do so. I had a 50-50 claim 4 years and 11.5 months ago which apparently made my new policy invalid. Money grabbing at a time when I have very little.

Despite my having emailed over both mine and my husbands drivers licences and vehicle documents a letter was received stating that policy would be cancelled as all documents had not been submitted ‘ A Copy of an online driving record in full pages view for all drivers ‘ This is totally new to me , nerves heard of it , I thought this is what I had already sent them NO explanation in the email or correspondence what so ever was given as to how one could obtain or upload ‘an online driving record ‘ I have really been treated unfairly here be warned With this company , now I have a black mark against my name with an Insurance policy being cancelled and unable to insure my car . I raised a complaint on the 30/03/20 still waiting to hear back and their telephone line constantly engaged

When cancelling a policy there are two cancellation premiums. I paid £356 in September and 6 months later i get £1 back. Yes £1! £80.95 gobbled up by Autonet and another £56 from underwriter. And by the way i am (WAS) have other vehicles that will not be renewed! Just to rub salt in, the girl on the phone had attitude.

I have house insurance. Last year £146.22. Renewal quote is £393.10..... yes you are reading this correct..... an increase of 165%. !! How can you justify this. It is an obscene increase. I am now 77 and my working life was as a Business Controller for a large Insurance Company. Never ever heard of a 165% annual increase.

Warning!!! I took insurance with these people which I phoned to cancel less than 1 hour later due to a mis-communication at our end. They charged me £25 admin fee for an insurance that hadn't even begun yet. Apparently it's hidden in the Ts and Cs. Just another rip off - yes we get 14 days cooling off but, apparently insurance companies can do this.

I have not had a great customer care experience with Autonet insurance. I took out a policy for my van at £400 but accidentally typed in my no claims bonus incorrectly at 7 years instead of 3 years. They then wanted to charge me an extra £200 plus £14.95 admin fee. I searched online for the same policy with 3 years no claims bonus and the quotes still came back at £400 which was the same quote with 7 years no claim so I was basically about the get ripped off £215. I also had to send in paperwork via email to confirm a few things during g the 14 day cooling off period and I did this 3 times however had no response from Autonet apart from automatic emails explaining I only have 1 week to response before the policy expires. I ended up been on live chat for an hour to sort everything out and ended up paying a cancelation fee of the insurance and using a different insurance company. I wouldn't use Autonet again even if they came up cheapest on a google search.

Shocking customer service, passed around for a couple of hours with different phone numbers, different departments, insurance cancelled by them for not realising the same underwriter from last year, then told they are unable to sort today as the underwriter closes at 5pm, then told there are many other insurance companies that will insure me today, that’s a great help miles from home and not told the van is not insured until I checked my bank.

They are happy to take the money but when you make a genuine claim they go out of their way to avoid paying out, using a small print clause as an excuse which has no bearing on the incident. I will not use them again but go with others who are proven to respond decently and professionally.

I cancelled my insurance, due to my daughter passing her test and being quoted an extra £1200, we managed to get it £500 cheaper. Autonet cancellation fee is £80 plus what I lost from the actual insurer giving me £50 back from a £300 policy only 8 weeks in.
