I would never use Barrhead Travel again. They booked us into a hotel that was dirty and unsafe after booking a very expensive holiday to America with them. I have tirelessly emailed their customer service department who ignore my emails and refuse to deal with my complaint. The hotel they booked us into was The Red Lion in Monterey. The reviews were awful and after staying 2 nights there I can now see why. I sent photos to Barrhead Travel dirty floors, shower, broken air conditioning and stained bed sheets with our room backing onto the hotel car park where any random stranger could have walked into the hotel. We came back from our holiday mid Aug 24 and it is now Nov24 and still Barrhead travel service have not responded to our request for a refund. Shame on you Barrhead Travel.

Always love a visit to Barrhead travel as they are always so helpful.Today Kelly was so helpful and has organised a trip for my parents and also a trip for ourselves.Kelly and the staff always are great with different suggestions and always so knowledgeable.Thank you xx

Went to the Saltcoats branch to book a holiday told by them £400 deposit paid then paid £600 had to cancel on medical grounds told I would get the £600 back now there telling me its £950 deposit I was not told this when I booked I will have to take it up with abta you can't change what was agreed at time of booking just been told lies from the start

From first contact our Barrhead Travel representative, Frank, was professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Booking was made and documents to check were sent promptly. To date delighted with service.

Paid £4.500 pounds for a holiday to be told it’s gone can’t even give you an other holiday till your money is refunded telling us it can take up to 5 days shocking

Im still waiting on her asking the reason for the cancellation. Told her the reason but no empathy what so ever was forthcoming, only thing she was interested in was the ludicrous cancellation fee. This was equivalent to between 70 to 80 % of the holiday price I am well aware of rules and regulations but when something is outwith your control I find it ridiculous. Not so much about the hard earned cash you took like an unmasked dick turpin but the lack of empathy for someone's health you neglected to acknowledge was uncouth. Used Barrhead travel over thirty years longhaul all over unfortunately never again. My recommendation would be go to a travel agent that cares stay clear of Barhead Travel if you are looking for good customer care if there was a zero star it would not even be one no empathy or comfort whatsoever .

Just returned from Krakow, booked over a year ago through Barhead Travel the fort Glasgow. I can honestly say the service provided was abysmal they left us to organise most of the apartment details such as room numbers ourselves by email to unknown person who had very little English and never answered our emails. No transfers were arranged though they were provided by the apartments via email. On return when I expressed my annoyance the manager was very negative blaming other companies and us for not checking emails sent by the airline, then when I explained how much the cost of a taxi was she stated the obvious that I haf been done. I will never book another holiday through them again.

Booked a holiday in April with transfers when we landed in alacante no transfer waited a hour still no show had to get taxi tried phoning emergancy number on forms did not answer got hotel to try phoning no answer on return home no transfer to pick us up to take us to airport. When we got back we went into o barrhead Manchester Stockport said they would look into the matter we wanted refunding for the taxis we had to pay for said they'd be in touch nothing just keep getting fobbed off horrendous customer service not even an appolagy. Steer clear.

Awful service from Barrhead Travel Northwich I am deeply disappointed with the abysmal service provided by Barrhead Travel Northwich. Our holiday has been completely ruined due to their incompetence and lack of communication. Despite multiple attempts to contact them regarding our booking, we received no email responses or phone calls, leaving us in the dark and anxious about our trip. The travel agents we dealt with were ignorant and unhelpful, providing no assistance or reassurance during the booking process. It was evident that they lacked the necessary knowledge and professionalism required to handle our booking efficiently. Their inability to address our concerns and provide accurate information made the entire experience extremely frustrating and stressful. After weeks of hassle concerning our breakfast booking at the Rosen Inn, we arrived to find that one room had a buffet breakfast while the second room was only provided with a continental breakfast. This discrepancy was not communicated to us beforehand, causing immense frustration and confusion upon our arrival. We had explicitly arranged and paid for the same type of breakfast for both rooms, yet this was not honored. The hotel's reception staff were uncooperative and unwilling to correct this mistake. Despite our repeated attempts to explain the situation, they refused to offer any assistance or solution. This left us in an incredibly difficult position, especially considering that we were scheduled to leave the hotel before 8 AM for Magic Kingdom. Due to the delayed flight and stressful customs experience, our child had no breakfast, and we were forced to pay additional costs on top of the £11,000+ we have already spent, just to ensure our child is fed. Given the time difference, we expected Barrhead Travel to contact the hotel immediately to rectify this issue and ensure all members of our party (4 adults and 1 child) receive the buffet breakfast we paid for. We also requested appropriate gestures of goodwill to compensate for the distress and inconvenience caused by the deplorable service we have experienced from the start but alas this was ignored This level of service is unacceptable, and we expect prompt and effective resolution to this matter. The incompetence and lack of professionalism displayed by Barrhead Travel Northwich have significantly impacted our holiday, and we urge others to avoid using their services to prevent similar experiences.

To be brutally honest if I could give NO Stars I would. So far we have received THREE Confirmation Details of our holiday and so far they have got the details wrong 1. Cabin number on the ship 2. Board basis 3. Hotel details ( 9 nights or 1 nights ) 4. Flight Details ( seats ) COST?????? IF WE HAD BOOKED THE HOLIDAY BY OURSELVES IT WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER 800 POUND CHEAPER HAVE ASKED FOR A BREAKDOWN NO RESPONSE NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED!!!

Big shout out to Scott at Barrhead travel Stirling, always goes above and beyond, i have booked all my holidays with him for many many years, his knowledge is amazing. On behalf of myself and my family, i just want to say a huge thank you to him, he is the best... The shop is so welcoming and all staff are so friendly, so i would definitely recommend Barrhead Travel Stirling to help you book your upcoming holidays

Awful. They booked a return flight for me to Thailand. At the time I told them it was highly likely I would change the return date. They told me it would cost 100 pounds and would be no problem. I agreed. Then when the time came to change it I wrote to Barrhead and did not receive a reply for three days. Their reply said it would cost 640 pounds. I went to a local German owned agent in Thailand who advised me that the the airline had been contacted on my behalf and that since there was a delay on the original flight the cost would be free and their charges were 15 pounds to make the change.(!) I wrote back to Barrhead travel who advised me they don't contact the airlines. what? A travel agent that doesn't contact airlines? really? and they also lied about the 100 pounds charge. They could learn a lot from other professional agents in Thailand who bend over backwards to help their customers. If this happens to you get everything in writing, and don't trust them. They are useless and have no idea about customer support and don't care as long as they have your money. AVOID.

We want to acknowledge the excellent customer service shown to us by Cerys at the Clydebank branch recently. She stayed with us throughout our purchase of flights and seat bookings, which became quite challenging due to the airline’s website. Cerys was very professional, patient and went the extra mile to help us. Our bookings are all made now, thanks to Cerys and all her help. Thank you so much Cerys :-), from Mel and Lynne.

We have booked many holidays with Barrhead Travel as we have always had excellent service. Ruth at the Braehead branch has handled most of our bookings and is very experienced in finding holidays that will suit our interests and budget. Recently she resolved an issue we had with a travel company due to us missing a date for cancellation. She liaised with the company on our behalf and saved us a great deal of money.

Recently booked a holiday with barrhead, my parents both passed fairly recently and now I have a little more money to maybe take kids away for a good holiday. Unfortunately a short time before we were meant to fly out, my 12yo sons lung collapsed and after a further look from consultants they told us by no means are we able to fly. So what do barrhead travel do to loyal customers who have booked previous 4 holidays with them? Not offer us a different date to change holiday and tell us we're not getting our money back. Which is just under £5000. Just took it because they'd obviously been put out by their efforts of getting us a hotel room and seat on a flight that is going to be filled by someonelse anyway. Im absolutely saddened, disgusted, angry and shocked. If this is a company that everyone is happy to trust, use and give money to, I strongly suggest you reconsider, I swore by them aswell until I needed their help and they just shut the door and kept my money.

I recently got married, and a really kind friend got us a £100 travel voucher for Barrhead. We were delighted, but when we tried to us it, we quickly realised the voucher system is a SCAM! We tried to book a hotel with it on the website, but unfortunately the website does not accept vouchers. So any price you see online is not applicable to a voucher. We then went into a local shopping centre within a Barrhead. The customer service desk at the shopping centre told us that Barrhead have staffing issues, so sometimes they open and sometimes they don't!! When we tried to book a hotel over the phone we were told it is not valid to book a hotel, it has to be a package. Barrhead offer excursions. As we are going on honeymoon (through another provider) this year, we asked if we could use the voucher for an excursion. That's not possible with a voucher. We then tried to book a city break with it. Booking through the phone was around £100 more expensive than booking online. Seemed fishy. When I asked if they could price match the online price, they said price matches with the voucher weren't possible! They then stopped replying to emails. We then thought we should give the voucher to a friend who has use for it, as they have already booked a holiday with Barrhead. But unfortunately you can't put a voucher towards a holiday already booked. You also have to use it within 6 months, on a holiday you take within the year. So we can't even hold onto it. PLEASE, PLEASE do not gift this voucher. It is plain theft.

Cancelled my holiday to Tenerife due to health getting worse, I paid £900 I am due £780 back. I called on the 9th May 2023 to ask about getting my money back, I was told someone would call me back, they didn't. I called back I was told I would get someone contact me for my bank details, they didn't. On the 3rd time calling this company on the 9th May a lady took my bank details, she told me if I didn't get my refund by the next Tuesday 23/05/2023 I would definitely get it in my bank by 30/05/2023. So when there was no money in my account by 30/05/2023 I called the Brahead branch for the 4th time to ask to speak to Angela the manager who was very hard to get hold of until I contacted their head office. Angela apologised and assured me firstly I would get my money on the Friday at the beginning of the call by the end said I would get my money by Tuesday the 6th June that she was away on holiday but if I needed help I can talk to someone that will just tell me more lies,it is the 6th June my money is still not in my bank myself and family and friends would not go near this travel agent again that is a lot of custom to lose, very unprofessional.
