“Do not buy anything for this outfit!!!
I ordered 2x2L potted shrubs, what I received was half dead and less than 1L in size.
All 5 pear trees were dead on arrival.
5 out of 6 raspberry canes dead
When I complained, they told me I should have complained sooner and have proceeded to ignore me completely!!
Con artists.”
“Received 2 dead sticks that did nothing after giving much TLC. Was ignored when they were contacted, very disappointed, would not recommend or buy from them again.”
“I ordered a white lilac tree.It arrived in very good condition although this is just luck as royal mail were the courier and depends on their service. The plant was a very good price with free delivery and arrived quick. I just hope it is white but at this stage i am very happy.”
“Would have given no stars if I could ordered a cherry tree and received a dead stick have emailed but they tell me it could still spark into life its now middle of May I don't think so they just fob you off do not buy from this company”
“I ordered 25 Photinia red robin and a buddleia bush, the plants were in transit for 11 (eleven) days and when opened the Buddleia was dead and only 13 red robin were salvageable. I contacted Beechwood and supplied photos of the unusable plants. Despite the photos showing the damage to the plants Beechwood said the plants were OK and refused a part refund. This company has the worst customer service I have ever encountered and really do not give a damn once they have their money. Shocking !! Buyer definitely BEWARE!!”
“TERRIBLE SERVICE!
I recently bought two Kerria japonica peniflora at £34.18. Plants arrived and were put in greenhouse. Now the first flowers have arrived it is clear Beechwood Nurseries sent me the wrong plants, likely to be Kerria japonica ‘Golden Guinea’. When I informed them I was told to send back the wrong plants at MY cost to Ireland to qualify for a refund! It was YOUR fault, you sent me the wrong plants, so why should I foot the bill for your mistakes?”
“AVOID ORDERING FROM THIS NURSERY. I ordered 2 apple trees for my son's new home. I got an email to say they were delivered on the 19th of November. I checked everywhere around my house and they were not there. I tried to contact Beechwood Nurseries and couldn't. I received advice to contact the courier and discovered they had gone into receivership. I contacted my bank who refunded the amount of £58.21 for the trees. The first week in December, my neighbour from number 63 at the end of the road brought the trees and asked if they were meant for me at number 53. The trees had been sitting at her front door for nearly 3 weeks as she was on holiday. 2 days ago I got a threatening email from Beechwood to say they were bringing in debt collectors for the amount of the trees plus £14 for the PayPal dispute. I know I am within my rights to refuse to pay the retailer as it is their responsibility to deliver to the correct address. The law is in my favour. However, they were like a dog with a bone and sent rude replies via email so I paid to get rid of them. The trees are dead.”
“Bought 4 trees from this so called nursery who supply top quality plants, trees etc. I filled there online 4 in twice and guess what no reply to ask if there is a problem with the 2 apple trees. There appeared to be no growth over the last 12 months and what few leaved there were this year, soon withered. So I lifted these trees to look at the roots there were traces of a black web like structure but no root growth round both these trees. The 2 other trees seem ok. So avoid this company as there plants are very suspect and there customer service is the worst I have ever come across. 'So I will have to go and buy new trees from a professional nursery instead of these rip off merchants.”
“Deserve 0 stars. Delivered dead plants and I had to pay return postage. it then took me a serious battle with them via PayPal to get a refund. Took 6 months to get my money back. Do not deal with this company. Thieves.”
“I ordered a number of different tress and bushes. Two were wrong, one was not as described, 2 died.
They do not respond to their online contact form.”
“Appalling company never buy from them , the plants arrived dead , I have tried contacting them via email for a refund but I have been ignored! I bought them through B&Q ……. Please anyone don’t buy from this nursery.”
“Ordered a quince bare root plant , arrived shrivelled, sent photo contacted and was told it was dormant , 3 months later , contacted them again with photo after no change , was asked what compost . 1 month later after no reply , sent another photo , was told it wasn’t planted properly and roots were showing , sent 4th photo showing dug up plant with roots properly buried . No reply , sent more emails , all ignored . Don’t trust this company !”
“Ordered 4 Barnsley Babies through B&Q and supplied by this nursery in Ballywalter N.I. The plants when they arrived looked diseased and nothing like advertised. I queried with them and they reasured me they would be ok once new growth started. The new flowers are nice but the plants themselves are very poorly shaped and nothing like they should look. Customer service from B&Q was useless and Beechwood not interested at all in being helpful. Would never buy from these people again.”
“Bought a bare rooted dwarf plum tree last autumn. Planted as per instructions, no sign of growth has ever been seen. Contacted 3fatpigs in April, told to wait until end of May. Sceptical, as other fruit trees in the allotment were well in flower by then. Sure enough, the tree is dead and when we went back to them we were told, as others, that trees are perishable items. You can only perish if you are alive in the first place. Customer service terrible and then they just stop answering emails.”
“I would give 0 stars if possible. 4 bare root fruit trees delivered and planted as per instructions. 1 pear appears healthy. 2nd pear dead. Two apple trees both diseased. No help from customer service. Avoid like the plague.”
