“I wish I'd read these reviews before I ordered 5 elderflower plants. Packaging did not indicate the right way up, so box delivered with all 5 hanging upside down and 2 damaged as they had clearly been bashed about. Sent photos. Customer service told me to trim them an inch above the soil and plant - I did point out I would not pay £16.95 in a shop for a plant an inch tall and asked for refund or replacement. No response. No phone contact number. I've gone through my bank to get a refund. DREADFUL company, don't use!”
“Customer service insulting. Delivered trees via Ebay they turned up bone dry and dead. They advised me to plant them. Still dead a month later. Refused to refund. Case recalled via Ebay.
Terrible customer service and couldn’t care less. Packaging inadequate. Don’t buy!”
“The shrubs I ordered did not grow materialise after planting them in the right conditions and properly., watering them etc... The customer representative was rude and put the blame on me suggesting the above wasn’t the case! Awful experience and a complete waste of money!! (And a waste of time effort & energy complaining as they were not interested in sorting the problem)”
“Received 5rowan trees bare root..awful,there is no root on then ,this is very disappointing as I have received some good trees in the past....and the nursery’s lose ,as I buy a lot of trees and need a lot more,
Iam not going to send them back, having read other customers reviews...will take it on the chin and buy from somewhere else.”
“We had bought quite a lot of plants and had been very happy with all of them until a section of laurels all died. We contacted the owner who sent his father out to see them. Long story short we have heard nothing, they have just ignored us. So I would not recommend buying from them.”
“Truly the worst experience. Creepy customer service guy called Robert who stalked me on line. After I complained about a tree I bought. When I say tree it was more of a broken twig with 7 dead leaves. Trust me when I stay. Steer clear. If you use this company..YOU WILL BE SCAMMED. Nothing as described and the worse/scary customer service I’ve ever had”
“I ordered a hydrangea a blue lacecap "Blaumiese" I received no confirmation of my order whatsoever. After 2 weeks waiting and having to contact Paypal I was informed that the plant had been delivered the previous Saturday by Royal Mail. The only plant that I received that day was a rather bedraggled pink mophead with no accompanying paperwork. Not even told where it came from. I will not be using this place again. Not happy!!”
“Upon opening them up, I noticed that they did not look to be very strong, some broken and not much root on them, mainly from the second bag. Around 200 of them have stayed dormant in the hedge line that the whole 500 are in, along with a drip watering system. I contacted "you" asking for advice? but have been totally ignored!”
“Just received my virginia creeper - straggley looking thing, covered in brown spot and blight. Terrible. How can they send such awful quality plants out? Shameful”
“Twigs and partly dead plants arrived. See photos! Customer service didn't want to know. They are trying to remove all negative reviews from the Internet! Just read through the 3fatpigs (another trading name for this company) reviews on all the trusted review sites.”
“Please stay clear of this seller!
Would give them 0 stars if pssible, absolutely terrible customer service. I ordered 5 bare-root shrubs, received 2 proper stems and a few twigs, and 80 % of the lot failed to revive, despite best efforts with rooting powder etc.
When asking for replacement or a partial refund, I was met with utter disbelief (as they never have this problem, apparently) and silence thereafter. No refund or replacement despite numerous emails sent since.
Utterly disappointed.”
“Appalling quality. Rude. Terrible service. Refusing refund even though two thirds of the plants are dead. Planted by a very experienced, highly in demand professional gardener.

We are not responsible for an incompetent person looking after the order purchased. It might be a good idea to employ a capable gardener.

As I’m sure you must be aware under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 I am entitled to a right to replacement of the plants. See below. They were not of a satisfactory quality or acceptable standard as I have shown you.
I will be contacting Trading Standards and posting my reviews of your company online if this is not resolved.
FYI
Your rights when shopping
If you bought goods before 1 October 2015, you have rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979. If you buy goods after the 1 October 2015, you have similar rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Your purchase must:
· Correspond with any descriptions on labels, packaging, advertisements and catalogues – including photos.
· Be of satisfactory quality – ie of a standard a reasonable person would consider acceptable, given its price and description.
· Be fit for its purpose.
If a purchase does not meet these requirements, you are entitled to reject the item and return it for a full refund within a thirty days.
Sometimes you may have to wait for months for a plant to flower, and then discover the blooms aren’t the colour specified on the plant label. In this situation you will be outside of the time period for rejecting the item, but you will still have the right to a replacement of the plant for up to six years from the date of purchase”
“Horrendous company - should have looked here before buying - fig tree with one leaf, now 4 months later just a stick
They hide behind emails- saying ‘the owner says’ in answer to everything- but we know it is the owner writing- am going to escalate this until I get my money back !”
“we bought 4 birch trees from this lot last year, received and planted them and frankly nothing happened. We politely updated them and were told to be patient, and fair play 3 of the 4 finally came through. unfortunately beechwood are now refusing to refund me for the fourth tree - these people don't really put much store on customer relations and goodwill so would suggest any potential customers look elsewhere for those that do”
“Never have I ever experienced such poor customer service, so rude and couldn’t care less I hadn’t received my item- repeatedly called me stupid for not having the item. Item eventually arrived dead- not sure if Royal Mail or Beechwood issue but they didn’t care. They threatened me in emails; have been in contact with police regarding this company and trading standards. Just glad I didn’t spend much there. Avoid at all costs”
“I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased an expensive tree from them. I t came and I followed all instructions, but the tree is dead, it is just in the same state as when it arrived with tiny tiny buds on the stem and that is how it has stayed, obviously dead before it was sent out, and you cannot get a telephone number for them we now know why”
“This is the description from Beechwood Nurseries Ltd for the tree is bought from the above mentioned place.
Silver Birch 5 / 6 ft stunning mature specimen tree, Betula Pendula, but since getting and planting , it’s hasn’t shown any signs of growth, I contacted Beechwood Nurseries Ltd in early May, I was told the tree is dormant because of a cold spring and with warmer weather that should encourage growth , so again contacted Beechwood Nurseries Ltd in the middle of May , on this occasion advised to take photo of trunk with scraping away some of the bark, again Beechwood Nurseries Ltd suggested the tree is alive and report again if nothing chang.
I reported back in the middle of June because since planting this tree, growth has been nil, Beechwood Nurseries asked for another photograph because wanted to see if I had planted it correctly. I have asked for a refund under the consumer rights act 2015. I encourage other potential customers looking for trees to be very careful with buying anything from Beechwood Nurseries Ltd , because what they described as a stunning specimen wasn’t very truthful and honest by trade descriptions.”
“I bought a birch pendula tree in March believing it was going too be a special occasion, yet since it’s been delivered and planted, this tree is completely dead, I had too send Beechwood Nurseries a photo for an example for apparently someone in horticulture suggesting it was growing, Beechwood Nurseries needs to be avoided so don’t waste your money”
