“Good selection of beers but overpriced for the size of bottles. I was happy to take advantage of free delivery (this was a gift for my 40th) but would have ordered from elsewhere were it not for the free delivery. Prompt delivery, well-packaged.”

“Bit awkward to use. Reminded me of the frustration of buying online in the early days of internet shopping. I had to enter my details three times. It was nice to be offered a discount code when I first went on the website...but I put in all the details of myself, the recipient and the discount code. It didn't work the first time so put them in again. Then it needed me to register and enter everything again and then gave no space for the discount code so I had to pay full price. I would have preferred the discount not to have been mentioned at all than to be touted then denied at the last minute! Other than that... it was bought as a gift, requested from this website. It arrived on time and the beer was apparently nice.”

Hi Ellie, The discount code is emailed to you after you have signed up to the email - this should be instantly but does sometimes end up in people's junk file - we can issue you the refund that you missed out on cheers Louise

“Ordered a few bottles as I had a gift card. Found out after my credit card bill came in that they did not deduct the credit from my gift card. There is an option (not well placed) on the cart page that you must enable to allow your gift credit to be deducted. Maybe someone somewhere thought this was a feature but it's not intuitive and I've obviously made the mistake. I feel despite this the service has been very good and I'm not punishing beer hawk with a reduced review because I made a mistake - the website really needs more polish and the checkout process is clunky and awkward. Can't fault the beer though, they sell what I like, prices are fair and the delivery itself is always going to be costly with heavy beer bottles - still gets to me that it's about the price of 3x beers though.”

“I was given a gift card for my birthday, when I typed in the code to order my beer I was told that the voucher was invalid. After two seperated phone calls, one in which I was told I would receive an Email to let me know what was happening (which I never received), eventually I had to ring through with my order. This is my first experience of Beer Hawk and I was deeply unsatisfied with the overall service.”

“I got the £49 box of selected beers. I am on my 4th sample. The first 3 were excellent but the Black Chocolate Stout for me was undrinkable as the taste for me was just horrible.”

“Last delivery was not the usual standard. A bottle had obviously been broken as the box was wet and had been taped together. Box was dumped on path and driver legged it before I got there. Luckily only one bottle was broken which I was compensated for with no hassle thank you.”

“I recently treated myself to a case of Liberty Ale, from San Francisco's Anchor Steam Brewery. I placed the order on a Monday and the beer was delivered on Tues afternoon. Even better, I'd received an email from the delivery company (UK Mail) informing me of a one-hour delivery window (16:50 - 17:50). The courier arrived at precisely 16:50. Brilliant! The only reason I only gave an 8 for the "how likely are you to recommend" question is that I don't tend to make such recommendations for anything.”
