Balloons didn’t arrive on the day I had asked and therefore missed the 90th birthday for which they were ordered. Really disappointed

The product I received was half deflated and not fit for purpose. I understand this may happen but after sending to emails to the company to complain I have heard nothing back from them at all. I will not be buying from them again.

Hi Rachel, We are of course disappointed to receive this review as we were not made aware of this issue with your order. I have checked the system for any contact, correspondence and relevant emails, but nothing is appearing. Your order was dispatched on Wednesday 26th February 2020 and was delivered the next day. Our foil balloons last several days. If a balloon arrives in anything less than perfect condition, we will gladly provide customer service relevant to the situation if we are contacted immediately with photo evidence. By the time the balloons arrive to their destination, they have been inflated for almost 24 hours, been tested for faults in our Studio and gone through a 12+ hour transit period. We pack them in the best of boxes to arrive safely. All the best, Bloonaway

Hello Rachel, I have just uploaded an image of the message we just received from you. Our server appears to have rejected your initial emails as we did not receive them. The one you just sent came with a strange warning that I uploaded, which may explain why the first ones did not arrive. We will email you now to resolve this issue. Many thanks, Tilly

I'm afraid my friend never received her balloon and has now left hospital. No-one knows where it ended up

Hi Nicola, On the basis of your review (which we were very sad to receive as we always strive for perfection) I have checked the system and can see that you placed your order on Tuesday 25th February and selected the First Class Royal Mail service. This means your balloons were due to be prepared and dispatched on that day, to arrive on Wednesday 26th February. Our system and the Royal Mail tracking system shows that Royal Mail have retained your item for collection as they have attempted to deliver the parcel to the relevant delivery address on more than one occasion to no avail. When delivering to a hospital location, Royal Mail should always look to give the package to the reception or mail-room. We have emailed you with further tracking details and the required information in order to resolve this issue with the courier, Royal Mail. Kind regards, Tilly

Balloon was partially deflated on arrival with the stuck on letters peeling off, very poor quality, The Box it arrived in was worth more than the balloon.

Hi Anjum, Thanks for your comments and the photo you provided, of one of 5 items in your order. A deflated balloon of this nature is not due to a faulty product. By the time the balloons arrive to their destination, they have been inflated for almost 24 hours, been tested for faults in our Studio and gone through a 12+ hour transit period. We pack them in the best of boxes to arrive safely. I ordered balloons for my mum’s 70th birthday. The delivery was meant to be last Friday. Friday came and went, and no balloons arrived. I tried phoning numerous times but no answer. I emailed but no answer. It’s been a week now nearly, and I’ve got no answer, no refund, and NO balloons still! My mum’s birthday had to go ahead without the balloons. I am beyond disappointed and wondering if this company is a hoax. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.

Hi Jenny, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't receive the balloons you ordered for your Mum's birthday. According to the Royal Mail tracker, they were in fact delivered on the date you requested. I have attached the delivery confirmation from Royal Mail. I can see that they tried to gain access to the building for a few minutes first. I can see that you rang us over the weekend. Our office is closed from Friday afternoon until Monday morning. I apologise for the fact that you did not receive a reply to your email from Friday - I don't know exactly why this occurred, but may be to do with the fact that upon verifying the situation, we could see that the parcel had been delivered and this delayed the urgency and got overlooked. We always recommend selecting the tracked delivery option (currently priced at £3.95) and not the Free Delivery if the balloons are for a milestone. This way, the delivery date is guaranteed and if a parcel goes astray, there is full GPS tracking available from the delivery driver so we can rectify this.

Unfortunately one of the balloons deflated in the box overnight before I had chance to give them to my son for his 18th. I've ordered balloons elsewhere before and had excellent products. Very disappointing and won't be using this company again.

Hi Antonia, I’m sorry to hear that your balloons did not last for as long as you had hoped. We truly care about the safe arrival of each and every balloon – we use top quality materials, precision inflation equipment and leave the balloons to ‘rest and test’ before packing them in sturdy boxes for transit. If the balloons arrived in perfect condition, we can be sure that there was not any manufacturing fault in the balloons that went undetected. Where the balloons are stored and how they are handled will affect the longevity of the balloons. Exposing the balloons to high temperatures, playing with the balloons or hitting them on surfaces (even if not sharp) will decrease their float time. There are care instructions on the card attached to the balloons. If you believe that there is an issue with one or more of your balloons, you can always contact us by phone, email or contact form. We are available to assist you and replace or compensate you where relevant and applicable if you contact us as soon as you have an issue. Kind regards Tilly

The helium balloons I bought from you were very poor quality. They did not stand upright and kept dropping to the floor. I ordered the balloon with the sticker on it and the image of the pram - the sticker was stuck on and it was all bunched up so no one could make out what was on it. The balloons were supposed to add to the back drop of our baby shower but had to be put in the background because they were completed deflated and falling over. Would not shop from your store again.

Dear Swati, I'm so sorry to hear that your balloons arrived in anything less than perfect condition. We truly care about the safe arrival of each and every balloon that leaves our studio - we use the best quality materials, precision inflating equipment and leave the balloons to 'rest and test' before packing them in strong boxes for safe shipping. On rare occasions a balloon could have a micro-fault that was so small it was undetectable during the testing hours, but becomes apparent after travelling to you overnight. It sound to me like the balloon had a tiny fault and some helium escaped, which would make it too heavy to lift itself, plus the size of the balloon would have shrunk leaving the sticker crinkled up. We always recommend that you check your balloons on arrival. If there is anything wrong with them you can send a photo on the day of delivery and we will likely replace your balloons or provide compensation if a new one would be too late. We hadn't heard from you since you received your balloons last week, but we can be contacted by phone, email or web-form and have a pretty quick response time. I hope the rest of the balloons in your order were all fine and added to the atmosphere at your event. All the best, Tilly

Hugely disappointed with Bloonaway as balloons weren't fully inflated and looked rather sad when presented to my partner on his 40th birthday. I contacted Bloonaway to express my disappointment but my email was simply ignored.

Hi 'Anonymous' I'm so sorry to hear that your balloons arrived in anything less than perfect condition. We truly care about the safe arrival of each and every balloon that leaves our warehouse and take every care that it should reach the recipient intact...We use the best quality balloons, inflate with precision equipment, have a 'resting' period of several hours to detect micro-faults, and package in strong double wall boxes for safe transit. Unfortunately, sometimes a tiny fault is not detectable until the air has escaped for over 12 hours or more, or the balloon gets damaged in transit. We always advise our customers to check the balloons upon arrival to see if they are all in perfect condition. If they are not, and you contact us immediately, we will arrange a replacement (if relevant) or compensation. (see T&Cs) Since you only contacted us almost a week after the balloons had been delivered we can no longer accept accountability for damaged balloons. They may have since deflated naturally or from other environmental factors and so unfortunately we cannot help you further on this occasion. My apologies for the delay in replying to you. All the best, Tilly

Didn't deliver my balloon on the day or even up to 3 days(when they say it could be delivered) after. They said royal mail had it and i'd have to take it up with them. It has been a week since they dispatched it so it will have definitely deflated by now. Ruined Valentines day surprise. Will fight for a refund.

Hi 'Anonymous', Royal Mail attempted to deliver your parcel but there was no answer. They left a calling card with redelivery options. I have emailed you the reference tracking for your parcel where this is detailed. For balloon deliveries where timing is important (such as birthdays, Valentines and other special occasions) we recommend selecting our Guaranteed shipping option (DPD), currently priced at a nominal fee of £3.95. This would provide you with tracking information, a one hour delivery window and options of where to leave your parcel if the recipient is not home. Since you selected the Free shipping option, your parcel was sent via Royal Mail 1st Class which may take up to 3 working days from your selected delivery date and for which no tracking is provided. You are asked to agree to these Terms at 2 points on the checkout before completing your purchase, and as such this order is not eligible for a refund. Some customers will take this risk if they are looking for the cheapest delivery option, or if timing is not of essence, such as for new babies etc. We will continue to offer both the Guaranteed and Free shipping options on our website. All the best, Tilly

Apparently the package couldn’t be received by addressee on delivery so was taken to depot. When collected the balloons had deflated. So disappointing Also I had provided addressee’s contact number but she was not contacted. So poor experience I am afraid to say

Hi Annabella, I'm sorry to hear about this. Your balloons were dispatched via Royal Mail 1st Class, as you selected the Free Delivery Option. A delivery was attempted on your preferred delivery date but since no-one was home a card was left and your parcel was taken to the Post Office for collection. The Free Delivery option is not tracked nor date-guaranteed (as you agreed to before completing your purchase). We recommend using the Tracked Guaranteed Delivery option (DPD) currently priced at £3.95 for balloons for birthdays and other special occasions. This would provide you with full tracking details and options of where the parcel can be left if no-one is home during the 1-hour delivery window. I can see that you collected the parcel 4 days later. Had you contacted us immediately upon receiving them and noticing they were not in perfect condition we would have offered a replacement (if relevant) or compensation. (see T&Cs). We didn't hear from you until you left this review several days later, by which time the balloons may have deflated naturally to some extent and therefore we are, unfortunately, not able to help you on this occasion. All the best, Tilly

The balloons were ordered for my 70th birthday. Less than an hour after receiving them the main happy birthday balloon slowly started to deflate and by the end of the party was crumpled and sad looking. My grandchildren were very upset and I was extremely disappointed Jennifer Hannon

Would have been nice to have been able to give a review regarding balloons but unfortunately my brother didn’t receive it & was told I should contact Royal Mail even though my contract & payment was all with this company. The balloon was for my brothers 72nd birthday as I was away at the time & wanted him to know I would be thinking about him ( but it didn’t happen ) 😏.

Hi Bernie, As we discussed in our email conversations, your parcel was shipped on time and delivered by Royal Mail on the date you requested (18/12) and the tracking reference shows that since there was no answer the parcel was left with a neighbour, a card was left at your brother's address stating the name and house number of the parcel's whereabouts. It's unfortunate that (as you mentioned in your email) your brother was not able to collect the parcel due to ill health. It's beyond the capacity of our contracts or those of Royal Mail, to take liability for a scenario of that kind. When you select the Free Royal Mail delivery option there are no automatic tracking updates via email or text, as there would be with DPD. Also with DPD, you would have received a one hour delivery window with options of where to leave the parcel if no one answered at the address. We wish your brother a belated Happy Birthday and good health. All the best, Tilly

It is unfortunate to be the bearer of this review however given the shocking treatment I received I feel its important to hold balloonsaway rightfully accountable for the way they operate. After they take your money they dont seem to care if they fail to deliver on the product and service. I placed an order of balloons as a surprise for a special event. I planned this in advance even called the office to ensure they will be delivered on the assigned date. I was reassured to not worry that this will arrive. I was happy to pay the premium price for this. I made arrangements to have the venue host to make herself available all day to receive this package upon delivery. However despite the lady putting her plans on hold and waiting around all day long these were not delivered. Disappointed with this, we didnt want to ruin the surprise we had planned so we then had to improvise and managed to secure some balloons locally. Having paid a hefty price for a bunch of balloons and then not receive the order on time, which in the matter of balloons is quite imperative, I rightfully requested a refund. Despite my many efforts to try and resolve this issue internally The lady i spoke to which represented the company was unapologetic, refused to take responsibility and refused to issue a refund. Went on to put the blame me as a customer. Usually retailers operate and rely on credibility and customer satisfaction, this company had shockingly little care for such. I feel I have been duped and robbed. I feel obliged to share my experience so that future customers could be cautioned of the way they treat people and perhaps prevent the misfortune that i experienced happening to another respectable buyer.

Hi Keshi, As hundreds of our customers would testify, we pride ourselves on our outstanding customer service. We go above and beyond to assist customers in any area. In your particular case, you selected a Free Delivery option at the checkout where we clearly point out that by choosing this option your selected delivery date is NOT guaranteed. Nevertheless, the courier attempted a delivery on your requested date. No one was there to accept the parcel. They provided photographic evidence that they were at the location on that date. Another attempt was made the following day, when the parcel was accepted and signed for. Had you contacted us on the original date when delivery was missed (you received an email and text updating you with this information immediately) we would have contacted the courier company to try and get the driver to return and redeliver. However, we didn’t hear from you until you called the office 5 days later to seek a refund. You have not requested any ‘customer service’ from us. You have simply asked for your money back. A ‘respectable buyer’ would understand that by selecting a non-guaranteed delivery option (Free of charge) and missing a delivery attempt for which a one-hour slot was provided would not be valid reason for demanding a refund. As a business in the party industry, we appreciate the value of timing. We offer a (recommended) money-back guaranteed delivery service for those who purchase it at the checkout for a nominal fee. We recommend that customers selecting the Free Delivery Option only do so when timing is not of essence, such as balloons to welcome new babies, congratulations for passing exams and other numerous wishes, as the delivery could take 2-3 working days. We share in your disappointment that the delivery was missed and other arrangements had to be made. However, continually calling, emailing and leaving reviews with this situation will not coerce us into refunding your purchase. We will continue to offer both the Free Delivery option and the Guaranteed option to all our customers, and continue caring about the safe arrival of each and every balloon that leaves our store. Not happy at all with this service, ordered balloons for my daughters 3rd birthday which we did not receive. Called to complain, to which I was told they would call me back... no response. Called again to be told that’s the risk of using Royal Mail. Royal Mail had them as being delivered but we 100% did not receive them, no balloons for my daughter and out of pocket by £19.95 might as well thrown my money down the drain. Reporting to The Consumer Ombudsman today! Update: disgusting customer service, don’t appreciate losing £19.95 and being spoken to like I am unimportant (consumer is key?!) “once the parcel has left our site, we accept no liability” I have never heard anything so ridiculous in all my life. Why doesn’t my review show on your page when I am one of 2 most recent reviews? Currently seeking advice on what to do as it may only be £19.95 but that is MY hard earned cash which I have nothing to show for it! I will not disappear unlike your balloons!

Hi Lisa, I'm sorry that you did not receive the balloons you ordered for your daughter's birthday. We explained to you when you first contacted us that the parcel had been marked as delivered by Royal Mail on the day you requested. I attach a screenshot of the tracking results. When I spoke to you on the phone a few minutes before you left this review, I pointed out that Royal Mail have only ever marked something as delivered if this was the case. Having sent something to a business address, as in this case, there are many stages that the parcel may go through - security guard, receptionist, post room and other employees etc. Your balloons were despatched on time and delivered the following day. The fact that your husband did not receive that parcel within his work place is beyond our control and the control of Royal Mail. Apart from being marked as 'delivered' or 'delivery attempted and calling card left' there are no further tracking functions on this First Class service that we offer for free. Our other delivery option (DPD tracked overnight service) has tracking at many stages, a signature is required by the recipient, and in the case of a mislaid parcel, DPD are able to retrieve the GPS tracking of the driver. If a DPD delivery does not arrive on time (our guarantee), we offer a replacement or refund (if redundant). When selecting Royal Mail as your delivery option at the checkout, these conditions are clearly displayed and you must agree to them before completing your purchase. All the best, Tilly
