I thought the course was lengthy but over all it covered every aspect of the safe operating planning navigating and necessary requirements to operate motor powered watercraft. Good course in my books

Easy to understand. The reading out loud made it easier to remember.

It was very easy and straight forward to follow the course and the practice quizzes at the end were very helpful in preparation for the big final exam.

It was indeed thorough I must say. I was able to pass this everything on my first try, what definitely helped was sometimes pausing videos to scribble notes to reflect on at any point. I had a not too bad 90% module average success rate. 1 critique though, which concerns the final exam. It had questions that in no way shape or form I recall having being discussed through the other modules! About 3 or 4, and I simply had to use my gut instinct on what would be the correct course of action to take, which of course in a real life situation is helpful, but it is not useful in any way when there’s either a right or wrong answer on a website. Other than that though, again it was well spoken/written, and quite nicely and easily went over all the necessary subjects.

The only problem I had with the corse was you weren’t told which questions you missed. That would be very helpful.

Over half of the video presentations did not work forcing me to follow your course by audio only. The few video presentations that did work would loop back to the beginning instead of stopping at the end of the presentation. Such garbage in an online course i have never seen before. This was a total waste of my time and money as i could have received the same training information but simply reading the book and taking the exam.

The course content was good, it covered everything I needed to know. I do have one complaint. Not being able to know what questions you got wrong doesn’t make any sense. How are you supposed to correct yourself or study so you can learn the right answer?? That was very frustrating, then I had to do the WHOLE module AGAIN. Even if you just gave the question(without answers) that would allow me to go back and get the correct information. Having timed slides is also frustrating. I read faster then the video and it was very annoying to have to keep waiting for the timer to finish. I understand you don’t want people just clicking through, but when you have a module with 40 slides at roughly a minute each, and 7 modules. It’s too time consuming.

Very informative course. Only downside is that lots doesn't apply to the 16 foot boat I operate

Mostly OK, but noticed several factual errors: 1) The blood alcohol concentration limit is incorrectly reported in units of milligrams (mg). This is not a unit of alcohol concentration in blood. If you say 5 mg per liter of blood, or 5 %, or 5 parts per billion, these are units of concentration, but 5 mg is not. 2) If the module that discusses recommended boat speeds, the audio narrative refers to a distance of 1.6 km as a nautical mile, but this is a land mile, not a nautical mile, which is 1.85 km. The audio text and the visuals are in disagreement. 3) The module on navigation aids shows a diagram illustrating different types of signs that may be posted on shorelines. One of those is identified as standardized speed limit sign, but in the figure, the sign shown is a sign for engine power limit (Max kW),not speed limit (Max km/h). Also, the emergency module should show the best techniques for safely hauling a person back on board a small craft, such as boat with low gunwales, or an inflatable boat. Right now this is missing from the course, and it is particularly crucial to know this.

Sorry, but I thought it took a little too long, and you don’t learn from your unknown mistakes.

I personally learned a lot of quality info, and also confirmed things I thought I new... a lot of this info is and will be unused for the average weekend fisher

It was good but some of the questions on the course were a bit easier than the actual test. I got it on sale so it was a great price
