Been a member now for 3 months and they have put prices up twice. They are not transparent in how long if at all you are tied in for. I would not recommend.

Hi Mick We’re sorry to put prices up for the second time this year, at a time that we know is difficult for lots of our members. Wholesale prices - those that energy firms pay for gas and electric - have surged to their highest levels since 2018 due to post-lockdown demand and we've had to adjust our tariffs to reflect this. We don't believe in fixed term contracts which means you're never locked in, so you're free to switch whenever you'd like.

Well, almost acceptable. Having just joined Bulb and having received almost immediately notification of a price rise I am having second thoughts as to whether I have done the right thing. It did have good reviews which is why I switched but I am not so sure now. Although advised to move again I'll wait and see. Sorry Bulb, I can understand if you don't use this review!

Excellent customer service. With my previous energy supplier, I used to spend hours on the phone to them. Not any more. It is very easy to submit energy readings via the Bulb app, and when I have contacted them with queries, they have replied very quickly and in a very helpful and friendly manner.

Absolute shambles of a company! No one has a clue about the service they provide...really messed up on our account and after hours of phone calls and emails being passed from one arragant personnel to another they still have not resolved issue.. Changed our meter incorrectly by mistake, complete imbeciles!!

Needed to change from SSE due to unwarranted price increased but on joining Bulb got an immediate price increase followed by a threat to increase soon. OK so it's a variable rate and the price I will pay is still marginally less than SSE.

Bulb were ok initially but have made many price increases and are now not really competitive Their Green Energy is not really that Green but that applies to most Suppliers. The Electricity is mainly Green in that they mainly purchase from Green energy suppliers. The Gas is not really Green at all. A tiny amount id produced from Sewerage etc but that's only about 3% and its debatable as to whether that's green the other 97% is not green at all and they just use Carbon offsetting

Hey there We buy our energy from renewable generators across the UK. Wherever possible, we have direct relationships with these generators to purchase their output. Our gas is 100% carbon neutral. We offset the emissions from the gas we supply by supporting carbon reduction projects around the world. We’re also one of the biggest buyers of green gas for homes in the UK. So a chunk of our gas mix comes from renewable sources, too. For April 2019 to March 2020, the latest data available, 93% of our green gas came from purpose-grown crops, 4% came from food and farm waste, and 3% came from residues like vegetable peelings or cereal straw. Every carbon offset certificate Bulb buys is verified through 1 of 3 internationally recognised standards: the Gold Standard, the Verified Carbon Standard or the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)'s Clean Development Mechanism. Barely with the company 2 months and twice already I’ve been told the price is going up! Otherwise I’ve not had any other problems. I’ve not had to phone their customer helpline.

Wholesale prices - those that energy firms pay for gas and electric - have increased to their highest levels since 2018, due to post-lockdown demand. This means that a typical member will now see a slight increase in their billing, paying £1.33 more for their energy a week.
