My Step Son Alex who is 18 had enough $$$ for a used car. Alex is one to get burned. Once he bought a hoop dee from some guy on Craig's List. Never checked it out, His money, he insisted on buying it without anyone looking at for him. You guessed it, Tranny was about shot. Motor ready to blow. A total waste of his money. He was again on Craig's List looking. Would not listen to reason, again. Then there was a nice Christian Lady selling a Mercury Cougar near-by where we live. He kept stopping by and looking at it. He even asked my to look at it with him. After hearing that, Amazing request from him, I looked at it with him. I met the lady and told her how Alex was burned and lied to in the past. I wanted her to please expose any and everything that she my know about the car that was ready to go haywire. She was so honest, showed me all of the service records, and just said to me, "remember it is a used car." I agreed with her and told her every time I ever bought a used car, I had a Car Fax Report. So I went home and purchased the unlimited package and ran the vehicle. It came back perfect. No history of salvage. All good info. I gave Alex the green light and now the car is his thanks to Car Fax. Car Fax saved the day!!! I will continue to use Car Fax for all of my used car investigations.

CARFAX IS THE BEST !! I was looking to replace a older Chevy Tahoe which I could use as a second car to lessen the miles I put on my new Ford Fusion Sport. After selling the Tahoe I wanted something similar but a little smaller or even a pickup truck if I could find a great deal. I had a limited budget for a second car and received great pricing advise on the vehicles I researched. Over the course of many months I test drove Nisan, Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Jeep and Land Rover. I was really excited about the Land Rover that looked great inside and out but thanks to CARFAX I found out it had a junk/salvage title and the mileage was falsified by 98,000 miles !! By the way I confronted the dealer and he denied it for a day then called me back and said he was SORRY! Boy I sure wasn't. I settled on a Dodge Durango - only 2 owners - low miles as per the average and had all the bells and whistles I was looking for. The best part is I got it at 30% below Blue Book Pricing and I am very happy with it. Anybody looking new or older vehicle simply follow the CARFAX information and guidelines. YOU WILL FIND THE VEHICLE YOU WANT AND WILL BE HAPPY ! JUST LIKE ME !!

We looked up a Chevy S10 and well it sounded too good to be true, a great grandfather owned, then passed down to his son!. $1500 we paid for the vehicle and CarFax made it possible! It showed us everything was legit, no odemeter changed back, no major accidents, we love the vehicle. Thank you! We are so thankful you are here!

my carfax experience has been literally life changing! a good used car in my price range has always been a crap shoot. I have been taken by more than one dealer and a few individuals. my current car was the first car I ever bought using your service. i did all my regular used car checks. oil, under the hood, test drive, etc.everything looked good and worked as it should, it had 4 brand new tires! then right before I committed to buying it from the dealer I mentioned I had 2 carfax reports left. he agreed to let me use his pc to run the car. everything checked out perfect, no accidents, no discrepancies. this was a one owner car! I had already got him to my price, $3100 tax&title included out the door. I walked out with a big grin and the confidence of KNOWING the history of this car. if anyone is interested the car I speak of is a 1997 ford crown victoria with the p71 police package, fire engine red. it was owned by a small town fire dept. when I bought the car it had 138k miles. today almost 3 years later my car is nearing 200k! I drive a 100 mile round trip commute everyday! all I have had to do to my car is an alternator, a serpentine belt, tires, and regular oil changes. I love this car, and I refuse to buy another without seeing the carfax! we are currently in the process of buying my stepdaughter a car. I bought 5 more carfaxes and have it narrowed down to a prime candidate! stay tuned- thanx carfax!!!!

I'm very thankful for Carfax. I've purchased a carfax on March 27, 2013 (thank goodness that I did). Through the carfax, I discovered a 2006 Toyota Highlander that I had purchased from a dealer (yes, a dealer. I called them scum bags!!!!) They'd rolled the speed odometer from 189,000 miles to 96,000 miles. It was the price that they sold the car to me that makes me wanted to buy a carfax (I smelled fish). Also, the car has been in an accident too. So, now, I returned the car and got my money back. I'm in the process of turning these scums to the DMV, I wanted to stop them from hurting someone else. You see, not every one buy cars with a carfax. Through the carfax, I also found out so many people selling they cars online with ROLLED BACK speed odometers and NEVER DISCLOSED that they car had been involved in an accident, until I told them it shows in carfax. I remembered one guy even acted very surprise and said to me "really? Accident?" I told him, he should be pursuing his career in acting, because, he was so good at lying. He even had a nerve to laugh at my remarks. Wow, what an eye opening experience that I had encountered this pass month, all thanks to carfax. And I can tell you, my money was WELL spent!!! I would NEVER buy a car without a carfax from now on. Thank you carfax, keep up with your good work!!!!! I'd love your guys advertise slogan....... DON'T BUY A CAR WITHOUT A CARFAX....... Absolutely, 110% !!!!! And ..........SHOW ME THE CARFAX. I also wanted to come to your guys defense. I recalled, not too long ago. I've saw it on ABC7 20/20 special report (I'm in Southern California), that they were criticizing the effectiveness of a carfax report. Someone had bought a car with a carfax, but the carfax failed to show that the car had involved in a major accident. And they were challenging you guys about your slogan "show me the carfax". Well, that's totally ridiculous. If the owner of the car, did not report the accident to DMV, most likely, they did not have a insurance coverage (in most cases, the insurance company are the one that reports to DMV). Even through by law, every one has involved in an accident (amount over $750) they have to report it to DMV. But, let's face it............NOT ALL PEOPLE ARE LAW ABIDING CITIZEN. Also, by reporting the accident, they insurance premium would be increase. So, my point is, if people did not report the accident to DMV, how on earth is carfax going to be able to obtain any accident information? I thought for a major TV station to challenging your company on "show me the carfax" slogan was totally STUPID!!!! The carfax is a good tool to help people to be more aware of the most of the cars on the market, but never will be perfect. Nothing is perfect!!! Besides, for the small amount of money that people spend on carfax (I was paid $54.99 for one month) I thought, my resulted was a total GODSEND to me. Again, thank you.

I'm sorry I don't have pictures of the used car I was interested in; however, thanks to your fine orginazation, I didn't want the car. I frequently brouse Craigslist trying to find a good replacement for our car. When I recently located what I thought was a very good deal my initial inclination was to go forward with an offer. Then a little "light" went off above my head and I thought perhaps I should do some more checking. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your excellent service. Your detailed report confirmed that old saying: "When something seems too good to be true.....". The small charge for your report saved me many thousands of dollars. Again, thank you and rest assured that I'll use CARFAX again !

Carfax helped me sell my car AND buy another. I had a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I had kept in very good condition and it had very low miles for it's age. During the process of selling it I had people compare my car to others for sale and when they'd compare I'd send/show them the carfax and explain that the title was clean, maintenance was done and that it wasn't in any accidents. The person that bought my vehicle did so because they had a hard time finding a 'clean' similar vehicle locally. On the same note, I then used Carfax to purchase my next vehicle (a 2002 Ford Excursion). I was actually able to find out that the vehicle I was interested in had been in an accident shortly after it was purchased. I followed up with the dealer that sold the vehicle and found out what happened. Since it turns out the damage didn't affect the frame of the vehicle I decided to purchase the vehicle but used the CarFax as a bargaining tool to get a lower price than what was asked for. Now I've got the vehicle I want and got it at an awesome price! Thank you!

I had been looking for a good used truck and after listening to coworkers about buying online I was tempted but a little afraid of the whole process. Well, I found a truck one night while searching the internet and decided that I would use carfax and if everything looked okay I would go ahead and make the purchase. After using Carfax I felt a lot more at ease and went ahead with the deal. The whole process was made that much more stress free knowing how Carfax stands behind their name. I bought the vehicle, drove it 1500 miles home, across the border, and with out any problems. Thankyou Carfax, I will recommend this service to my friends and if I ever decide to purchase a vehicle long distance again you can be sure that I will use your service.

I was in the market for a car recently, and I had pretty much made up my mind that I was going to buy a Subaru. Most of the Subaru's I came across that I liked were just beyond my budget. Finally I found a Forester that was in my price range, which then raised the question of why is this one so cheap? I went to check it out in person, and brought the VIN home so I could pull up the CARFAX. CARFAX gave me a lot of the vehicle's history. I was able to tell where it was from, where it had lived most of its life, what sort of care the owner(s) had given to it, all the major mechanical work it had undergone, and even an explanation for the price(Salvage Title). Between seeing the car in person and the records contained within the CARFAX, I decided that it was still a good car. The price of the Forester was still more than I'd really considered paying for a salvage vehicle. CARFAX provided a buyers guide that gave me a better idea of what i should pay for this particular vehicle. Finally I returned to the dealer, enlightened by CARFAX, I was able to talk the dealer down $1200 from the sticker price. For a total of $1875 I finally had the Subaru I had desired for so long, and I never had to worry about any hidden surprises down the road, or overpaying. 6 weeks later I drive my car everyday and still haven't had any issues.

Thank you Carfax! You saved me! I was looking at a 2006 toyota tacoma truck with 62000 miles on Craigs list, and after connecting with the man selling the truck, i had him text me the VIN number so i could carfax it. everything checked out on carfax. I made the 2 hour trip to where he was located, and after negotiating on the price, we agreed on the sale. I am standing about 10 feet from him, as he was taking down my information for the sale on the hood of the truck. The title is next to him, and as i glance over at the title, the vin number "bolds out" towards me. I shake my head and walk over to the title. The VIN number was NOT the same as the one he sent me. ( The only way i knew is that the original one he sent me had a bunch of zeros at the end and i remember wondering if they were zeros or letter O's. the one in front of me had ones and sevens). I pulled up the text and compared it to the title of the truck in front of me. sure enough it was a different number. He said that he had a couple of the same model trucks and must have sent me the wrong one. What was i to do? CARFAX. Well my phone was dying and we were at a gas station at 8pm. I got on line on my phone and pulled up the information, and to my suprise, the truck was serviced 5 days previous at a toyota dealership. the milage? 148,000. As soon as i see the milage, my phone dies and the guy gives me this look as if he didn't know the milage was changed. I told him where he could go, and i would go back home with out my truck.... thank GOD. and CARFAX

Great deal on a Tahoe across town saved me 2 hours round trip! Truck was totaled transferred trough a couple states to "wash the title" not such a good deal on a low mile truck if it's been totaled !! Carfax saved me the headache of paying full price for a totaled truck AND saved me the headache of buying a totaled truck with possible, unknown problems

The day before St. Patrick's Day this year, I had been in an accident (car went over a curb, axle broke, lost control and crashed into a telephone pole, airbags deployed). My car was totaled. Thank God my grandson and myself walked away without a scratch! Our angels were with us no doubt! went to a used car dealer who tried to sell me a Cadillac Catera. Thought to myself that I can't afford a new Caddy ... but a used one might work. Left a deposit and went home and bought the car fax package. Turns out that Cadillac was used by law enforcement and was in several crashes. Thank you car fax. I went and got my deposit back. Subsequently I went to a different used card dealer and am now the proud owner of a beautiful burgundy- red Buick LeSabre Custom. Car fax told me that although it is a 2002 car, it was actually a one-owner car. It has 78,000 miles on it (confirmed by Car Fax) and is in excellent condition! I am a retired secretary and my budget does not allow a new or leased car. Thanks to Car Fax I found a beautiful car that fits my needs and my budget perfectly!

It's the second time I used CARFAX. The first time I bought a car in an Auto Auction and everyone told me it was too risky. However, the car, a Nissan Pathfinder, was excellent and I had it for 3.5 years. A month ago I started looking for a new car. I checked 51 cars out on CARFAX and sadly 39 had bad record. Most of them, the owners didn't know or pretended they didn't know anything about it. Finally I found a good car, my Subaru Legacy. It comes from Wyoming. So checking the CARFAX report made it really easy, since I saved time, money and risks. I recommend CARFAX to my employees and friends now.

Car fax really saved me from buying a Salvage history vehicle. I was looking to buy a used car. The seller said the car has clean title and no accidents at all. I looked at the title. It was clean no Rebuilt title or Salvage title. I almost decided to buy the car and promised him that I will take the car. Then I ran the CARFAX and then found that the car was Salvaged earlier and was bought from Salvage auction and was fixed and sold to this seller. Interestingly the car title does not show any of that. I was under impression that if a car was rebuilt or salvaged, its title should say as REBUILT or SALVAGE. But in this case it was not. I had to take my promise back. This time I was careful and bought another car with clean title from a military person. Watch out for all these scams. Even DOL is scammed these days.

I often buy cars online, carfax gives me the confidence to buy knowing the service history and actual mileage of the vehicle, if it wasn't for carfax I would've bought a mercedes with 160,000 miles expecting it ha only 30,000. Thanks carfax!!

I was looking for a used car for my son and found a really nice looking low mileage Chyrsler Crossfire online. I called the owner and he gave me nothing but good news about the car. I arranged for a meeting to look at the car (about 300 miles from my home). The evening before leaving I decided to buy a CARFAX report and boy am I glad that I did. The report revealed the car had been in an accident and it had a Salvage title. Needless to say, I did not go see the car. Thank you CARFAX for saving me a long trip and potentially a bad purchase. I'll use CARFAX for every used car going forward. I did eventually buy a used car and I made sure it had a clean CARFAX report.

I have used Car Fax for several years now, I trust it's findings rather than just "trusting the seller's word"; and it has proved to be a "gem" before we purchased any of our "new to us" used vehicles. I usually buy the package when we are looking, so that I can check on several vehicles at a time. The 1st time was in 2002 when I bought my 98 Ford Explorer, I been looking at 2 of them, but after receiving the car fax on both, I knew right away which one I wanted. The second time was in 2004 and it was for a very sweet looking cherry red 96 Ford Cobra Mustang - my husband had it found on ebay motors - but before he even got the words out of his mouth that he wanted it, I called and got the vin number from the owners so that I could do a car fax on it.. two days later we were driving to pay for it and pick up that Cobra. The third time using Car Fax was for my daughters first car - in 2006, a 1989 Chevy Beretta - sporty little car and a price under $1000.00.. Car fax showed it clean, the previous owner and all the details with it and then after driving it, my daughter had her first car. Fast forward to 2012 - bought another Car Fax package - looking at a very nice 2000 Lincoln LS with only 50,000 miles on it at a local car lot... of course I wanted to see the Car Fax - and the car lot didn't offer it, so I did it on my own.. showed it was a company owned vehicle and all was great.. bought it.. love it, last month husband is wanting a sporty truck - so back to looking around we go - we find a nice 2002 Chevy S-10 ZR2 .. I pull the Car Fax - and find out all about it and then it also shows us other like models that recently sold or are for sale, giving us some bargaining power with the car lot for a better price on this truck. Car Fax has proven time after time that it is more than well worth the money and we won't buy a car without checking the Car Fax First!! Thank You CAR FAX!!!
