I was looking to buy a truck, just for the occasional use. Not a daily driver. Carfax led me to find this awesome 99 Ford Ranger from the Ohio/Michigan border. I went down to the used car lot, and the car was in awesome shape. Fortunately, I bought a vehicle with 4 wheel drive to make it home in the blizzard I went down there in. Thanks Carfax!

I was searching for an suv or large cargo vehicle since my family recently acquired a big dog. We love to travel and we now needed more space than my current Suzuki Sx-4. With the help of the carfax 5 pkg. I was able to find the perfect cargo vehicle with decent gas milage, my 2010 Dodge Journey! I am so pleased with my purchase, Carfax gave me information on the vehicle that the dealer didn't have! Now, I will recommend Carfax to anyone looking to get a used vehicle. Thanks, Carfax!

Went searching for a small convertible given that I live where winters are short. I was replacing an older convertible that had passed 300k miles. Was looking for over two months. I wanted a low mileage vehicle. But as convertibles are typically built low to the ground, the risk of getting a flooded car tend to be a bit higher. So I signed up for Car Fax. After looking and taking several test drives I knew what I was looking for. I did weed out a few examples that had prior accident histories. I also weeded out a few that had exceptionally high asking prices, especially given the history (some were corporate or rental vehicles). Ended up finding one with such low mileage I couldn?t believe it. But Car Fax confirmed the low mileage numbers. And it had lived its entire life in an area that wasn?t known for flooding. But the asking price was a bit outside my range. After using KBB and the Car Fax pricing adjustment, I showed it to the seller and he accepted my offer. So I ended up with a 7 year old, one owner convertible with less than 7,000 miles. Now we?re enjoying it on sunny days. Loving the new (to me) Solstice in the sun.

I was in the market for a used Cadillac and I discovered a dealer that had a 2003 Cadillac DHS for sale for $3200. The pictures that the dealer showed online showed pictures of a well kept vehicle free from visible dents and there was no disclosure of any mechanical issues whatsoever. When I arrived at the dealership, I discovered a totally different vehicle which had visible signs of body damage, cracked windshield, and a broken rear driver's side window. The car dealer assured me that despite the " wear and tear " on the vehicle, the vehicle was mechanically sound. I no longer trusted this dealer, so I downloaded the CarFax app for my smartphone and ran a vehicle history report on this vehicle to discover that this "mechanically sound" vehicle had reported collision damage as reported by CarFax! CarFax just saved me over $3200!!!

I was searching the world ?far and wide? for a gently used, full sized pick-up. Like so many other consumers, I quickly became frustrated and demoralized with the tedious process known as car shopping. As one would expect, I found plenty of inventory on hand. My problem was, in a word, predictable. Every time I found a vehicle that seemingly had potential I soon discovered that the truck?s history was either missing, incomplete, or compromised. Although I discovered the CarFax package deal a ?little late in the game,? it turned out to be a tremendous blessing from a consumer?s point of view. I personally purchased the five pack so that I could complete my much needed due diligence. My simple assessment is succinct: I?ll never purchase a vehicle again without using the CarFax package. The reports generated are ?user friendly,? comprehensive, detail oriented, and highly informative. I was able to eliminate potential purchases quickly and with strong rationale. Ultimately, I found the perfect truck with the direct help of CarFax. The report allowed me to purchase on one owner, low mileage, clean titled, Ford F150. And, I?d be remiss to omit, the report also displayed a dated maintenance report (history) of the vehicle. This gave me added security as I was able to see what meticulous care the previous owner had extended to my ?soon to be? purchase. In a day and age where false advertising, bait and switch tactics, and hidden facts seem to be the norm over the exception, I strongly endorse this process. Signing up is discreet, confidential, affordable, quick, and incredibly simplistic. Once purchased, you can immediately put your advanced ?search tool? to work and make your car buying process much more serene and headache free.

I was looking at a truck that seamed to be the exact thing I wanted. I recieved the CarFax and noticed a few dealer notes that said " vehicle service" so I called the dealer and asked. They informed me that the last service was that the owner brought the truck in and was informed that the vehicle needed a head gasket. This is a $3600.00 job to be done right. The owner refused the work and took the truck, changed the oil and tried to sell it to me. Thank You so much CarFax.

Recently, I was in the market to buy my first family SUV. I was looking into several models including GMC Envoy, Yukon and Chevy Tahoe. After keeping an eye out on Craigslist, Autotrader.com and Cars.com, I thought I found my ideal truck my 2005 GMC envoy. I decided to make an offer and drive close to 4 hours to go pick up the vehicle. Once I was there looking at the final product I noticed that there was a lot of rust including in the air intake, and under the seats so I decided to run a CarFax, it turns out the truck was registered in New York, and even if the seller never admitted, Immediately I knew it was involved in Hurricane Sandy. These $40 dollars where the best $40 dollars I have ever saved- They saved me thousands lost in future repairs! Thank You CarFax!

Was looking for a safe and reliable car for my 17 year old son. Did research on what cars were both safe and reliable. Found one on Craigslist. A Ford 500. Purchased a Carfax package, ran a Carfax and we were good to go. Agreed on a price, asked for a few minor repairs and placed a deposit on the car. Next day, she changed her mind. Found another vehicle on Craiglist and inquired about it. Coincidentally, my husband saw the same vehicle on his way home. It was a 2004 Saturn Vue. Ran a Carfax (the owner had one too) and purchased the car. My son is a happy camper and we are too knowing it's history.

I was looking for a 350Z. I figured if I needed a commuter car, I was going to have something fun to commute in. I found a gorgeous one at a local "mom & pop" dealer. She rode beautifully. However, there were some cosmetic issues (dents that were in odd places) and when I asked to take her to my mechanic they refused. I was told they didn't have a spare plate because so and so was at the auction. Within 2 minutes so and so walked back in. They still refused. I told them that I would need to wait for the bank to open up the following day and I would be back. While I was driving home I just couldn't shake the feeling of them not wanting my mechanic to put the vehicle up on the rack. So I decided to purchase a Carfax. MAN you guys saved me a fortune. The vehicle had been in an accident. They didn't want my mechanic to tell me this before they had my money. So I printed up the Carfax and went in the following day. I test drove it again, I asked if I could take it to the mechanic again, this time the excuse was my mechanic was too far from the dealership. So I asked if the Z had ever been in an accident. I was told this amazing story about how wonderful and beautiful and dependable the car would be and that "it had never been in an accident." I very politely asked them for a Carfax. He said that it wasn't cost effective for them. I gently put my crisply printed copy on his desk and walked out. I happened upon the vehicle on craigslist, again stating it had never been in an accident. I posted a response to the add with the carfax on there. Carfax, you saved me. And because of your site, I found a 350Z in Richmond that was even more gorgeous than the one I was looking at AND it had a clean carfax. You guys are heros for the little person. Thank you.

Me and my wife were simply looking for used cars with no plans to buy any time soon. We mainly wanted to get an idea of how much we should save up for when we actually bought the car. We came accross a few cars but the sellers were pretty shady. Finally found an ad through craiglist for a 2008 Subaru Impreza and the asking price was super cheap for the condition and mileage. I called the guy just to ask some questions and he did say that the vehicle had a salvaged title due to a small collision a few years back from the first owner of the car, and that completely turned us off. A salvaged title was something we were completely trying to avoid, specially since the seller was located in the Jersey shore and after Hurricane Sandy I wasn't sure if the seller could be trusted. But something kept telling me to give it a shot. We decided to obtain a cheap car report from another provider which give much details about the salvaged title. I was hesitant to buy a report from CARFAX but I realized that if this was the car for us, then CARFAX would be a great investment. So we bought the CARFAX report and we were able to verify what the seller told me. There were no major issues with the car. When we met to buy the car I showed the guy the report and he was even surprised to see such a detailed report. CARFAX gave me the peace of mind I needed and I have even recommended friends and family to use it. Thank you!

When my Great-Aunt died she left me her 2000 F-150 truck. After trying KBB and watching Ebay auctions for weeks I finally gave up and went to see what CarFax could tell me about the truck. By learning the information that I did I was able to sell the truck and use the money to buy a rare Miata for racing, plus have plenty left over for fixing up the car ( My mom CarFax checked the little Miata too) and I couldn't be happier knowing that I got what I wanted and that my Great-Aunt's wish for me to get what I wanted came through. Thank you CarFax for saving me some major dollars and helping making my Great-Aunt's wish come true.

I was shopping with private sellers for a vehicle to purchase for cash for under $6,000. I found a 1997 Jaguar XJ6 L that was in great condition and showed 80,000 miles on the odometer. Kelly Blue Book listed the value as $5,800 and the seller said he would accept $5,700. I agreed to the price, but said I wanted to run a Carfax first. After checking the Carfax, it was obvious that two previous owners had rolled back the odometer for a total of 65,000 miles. Since the car ran well, I still agreed to buy it, but after correcting the mileage, the Kelly Blue Book price was only $4,200! I accepted a final price of $4,300, and now I own the car. In ten minutes, Carfax saved me $1,400. Thanks Carfax! You really helped me out!

Thanks CARFAX for saving me. I've been looking for a used 2013 ford mustang for two months. And after finding what I were looking for, The autocheck report says that the car is clean and did not have any accident. I thought about it and said to myself why not to pay the 54.99$ to double check the car before paying the deposit to the dealer. I was shocked when I saw the CARFAX report. The car had an accident and it affected the structure.Structural damage reported . After another two weeks of search I found a really clean car. Thanks CARFAX for saving my money. I would recommend CARFAX to anyone who will buy a used car. I never regret buy the reports for 54.99$. This is my Story and this is how CARFAX saved me.

We were looking hard for our son's first car. We were looking at old Toyota Corolla's no more than about 150,000 and of course older years. We were willing to spend about $2500 if it all checked out Seemed like all privately owned good deals went within hours. We would pull them up on autotrader or craigslist or cars.com. We finely got one off Craigslist, called for an appointment and we were the first ones to see it. The man said he had several staggered after that. It was like 1996 Toyota Corolla with about 150,000 for about $2500. It was already smogged. We went down, test drove the car, ran smooth seemed great and didn't have time to run a Carfax or deal with the price. We ALWAYS would run a Carfax! After the test drive 3 people showed up and my husband had to make a decision to buy it as the next people were ready to grab it. It was my son's first car and it seemed clean and ran well. A few weeks later he started mentioning some things were loose on the dash and the car was running rougher. After a month I happen to be driving it and realized it was running like garbage and the dashboard around the guages was loose. So my first instinct was to run the Carfax and sure enough the last mileage 8 months before the sale of this car was 200,000 miles. And after that it showed the smog test and our purchase with mileage reading 150,000 approximately and a note by CARFAX MILEAGE DOES NOT MATCH. I immediately called DMV. It was definately tampered with but I asked if could we go and get our money back and they said absolutely it was up to us. They would deal with the odometer tampering. We had it smogged and checked the box on the title that mileage did not match as they instructed. We went to his home and left a note on his door stating he tampered with the mileage and it was illegal and we wanted our cash back. Unfortunately he was American Colombian and out of the country and his poor wife was left to deal with this. She had no idea. So we were polite and she gave us the cash back and we gave them back the title with the box checked, mileage doesn't match. He told her on the phone for us to leave it blank. But of course we didn't so he is unable to sell it to another unsuspecting person without disclosing the correct mileage. And of course the DMV had him on odometer tampering. We have since bought my son a car and first thing we do is run a Carfax. We did run into other people lying about mileage and we confronted them with the carfax report. I have never bought another car without a Carfax! Sorry a bit long but it's a life saver! There are some pretty scummy people out there! Thanks CARFAX!

I was concerned about buying a used car that may have been involved in Hurricane Sandy flooding, CARFAX gave me the peace of mind to know I was making a good choice. Colorado is one of the few states that does not require sellers to specifically state whether a car may have had flood damage in a Salvage title. Looking at many used SUV's, I noticed on the CARFAX reports quite a few had gone to auction in the New York and New Jersey area in November 2012, right after Hurricane Sandy and were now being sold in the Denver area. I didn't want to take a chance on one of these so I found a 2008 Highlander that had never been in that area and never had a Salvage Title, as an added bonus I could see the vehicle had been taken care of by the Service records on CARFAX. Thanks CARFAX.

Our granddaughter, Sierra, wanted a good, reliable used car for Graduation from High School. So I signed up for the $59 unlimited CARFAX program. After checking many, many cars types via CARFAX and checking car reliability (MSN on the internet) we found a great car. Based on CARFAX car pricing section associated with KBB I offered them them the recommended CAFAX price ($500 less then they wanted) and they took it. The $59 unlimited for one month CARFAX is the BEST DEAL around.

I went to buy a car...the owner swore up and down he was the only owner and it was never in an accident or had any problems... I was able to find out that it was unlicenced for 4 years and that it had 6 owners before him.. I also found out it wasnt originally a turbo porsche which meant the engine was worked on..
