I was able to decide on which car to get using the Car fax report. I had ppl telling me that the car is good and no problems. Carfax gave a clear picture and also showed that some cars were in an accident. Its like getting a second expert opinion when buying a used car. I trust it. V'nayak

the unlimited car fax reports for car number plates was so helpful, thanks a lot. Great work. But i felt i got very less options (5) for VIN numbers. if it is 10 VIN numbers, it would be great. I do check with my friends who already bought CAR FAX unlimited package, they also suggested same. Because when we thought of buying car in craig list or sulekha, most of the people wont provide car number plate instead they will give only VIN number, thats where the problem comes. hope, the feedback helpful for you. Thanks again.

I was only going to get a one time car fax report for my daughters new car but I decided to get the unlimited to check my other cars and found that my 1999 Hyundai had a recall in 2005 for the exhaust manifold. Long story short I ended up getting a whole new exhaust system for free thanks to carfax!!

I looked at an older BMW and the seller had an old CARFAX report from 2009 that he showed me. All looked good, but he claimed he'd done a lot of work on the car since then. He had some crumpled up reciepts in the glove box. I really wanted to double check. So I ran a new CARFAX and saw that all the work he told me he had done was true and that he serviced the car regularly as stated in his ad. I bought the car with confidence and without hesitation. Oh yeah, it runs great with no problems 3 months in.

I have used CarFax on multiple occasions to buy vehicles. CarFax saved my butt once on a really nice BMW that the CarFax showed had a lot of mechanical issues. To make a long story short. I took the car on an extended "test drive" knowing the vehicles history. Turns out the dash lights lit up like a Christmas tree about 10 minutes into the test drive. That would have been a costly purchase without the CarFax maintenance report.

I've been looking for a truck with low miles but not too old. As a single mother of a 6 year old cash can be tight. I found some trucks that sounded "too good to be true". So I decided to "get the Carfax". Carfax helped me see the odomieter readings for what they truely were. (A lot higher than advertised). Carfax helped this mom from making a horriable mistake! I'll check the Carfax on every truck now!

The carfax definitely helped me to find a good car whose record cannot be found from autocheck.

It was a long drive down-state to look at the car I found online. Once I got there, it was clear that the car had some body repair. A test ride proved the car was in good running condition; however, I was still concerned about what it had gone through to have had parts replaced and/or repainted. That's when I asked the seller for a few minutes alone so I could get a CARFAX report, and I found out more than I had expected! It turned out that the odometer reflected 50,000 less miles than the last oil change service report, which was 5 months prior! That gave me a great negotiating advantage. I was able buy the car for 20% less than the asking price. Thank you, CARFAX!

Carfax helped me find a car. I had searched but with the help of Carfax I would find out that sometimes people would forget to mention that the car was salvage and presented the car as if it never had been in an accident by the way this included a car dealership. Without Carfax I would have bought a car with issues. Carfax records protected my investment. Thanks.

Carfax is an invaluable tool which consumers need to use to protect themselves from common new car lease scams, fraudulent bait-and-switching, deceptive advertising, and illicit conduct performed by dealerships and their affiliates. Background Info 8/03/2014: I signed a Lease Order for a new 2014 BMW 328i xDrive Sedan (”BMW #1”) - VIN# WBA3B5G58ENS10262. Estimated delivery was 4 – 7 days from 8/3/2014. 8/10/2014: Dealership informed me that delivery of BMW #1 would be delayed 7 days 8/16/2014: Dealership informed me that it couldn't honor the executed Lease Order for BMW #1. Dealership offered BMW #2 in lieu of BMW #1 with free incentives such as the Cold Weather Package, NAV and guaranteed next day delivery. 8/18/2014: I signed a Lease Order for a new 2014 BMW 328i xDrive Sedan (”BMW #2”) - VIN# WBA3B5G59ENS09752 8/19/2014: Execution of Lease for BMW # 2 plus purchase of BMW Tire & Wheel Protection. Finance Manager stated that one BMW Tire costs > $1,000 to replace. Finance Manager stated that over 90% of his lease customers buy the coverage. Issued I learned by using Carfax and educational resources referred to by Carfax: 1. According to Carfax, BMW #1 was in fact delivered to the Dealership on 8/19/2014 and sold on 9/2/2014 to (some other party (not me). 2. The tires were already covered under tire manufacturer’s warranty and the value of the BMW Tire & Wheel Protection, which I prepaid at closing, was added to the lease liability (a common lease scam). 3. The free incentives provided to me to lease BMW #2 were worthless because the Dealership changed pricing at closing. 5. My $500 deposit was retained by the Dealership and was used to pressure me into leasing BMW #2 lest I lose it completely. 6. My $500 deposit was still kept by the Dealership. 7. Contrary to BMW's advertising, BMW #2's side impact airbags failed to deploy in a side-impact collision involving the front of an SUV and the side door of BMW #2. 8. The Dealership idled the vehicle for 98 days during which it purports to have conducted a bona fide investigation. Carfax is a powerful tool for the customer. Carfax should to lobby for mandatory reporting requirements by Dealerships and their affiliates. Otherwise, the information available relies on sparse voluntary disclosures. In my situation, I self-reported. The Dealership, Service Center and Manufacturer each failed to report. Car #1: WBA3B5G58ENS10262 Car #2: WBA3B5G59ENS09752

After my husband totaled our car, we looked online for another and found what we hoped was perfect, but several states away! CARFAX gave us the peace of mind to order plane tickets and fly to Texas to buy the car - and it IS perfect! Thank you for helping us with all the info on the car before we went to buy it. You made the experience easy and stress free!

My pickup burned and I needed to replace it. After two weeks I located a truck 2hours away from me. In order to hold the truck for me I had to place $500. non refundable deposit on a credit card till I could get there the next day. I bought the truck but I would not have placed the deposit without having able to see the CARFAX report.

I recently purchased a 2003 Lexus ES300, the car was presented as a 2 owner car that had only had slight bodywork done on the front right headlight area, also the owner had told me that the service history was all correct. I checked the vehicle on Carfax and was able to confirm all of the work that was performed and all of the visits for service over the years. Its great to be able to trust people but the Carfax report allowed me to verify everything that was being stated.
