Hi Terence, thanks for your review, we're disappointed that you weren't totally happy with the service. We try to find sale price and mileage data wherever we can but sometimes it simply isn't available (as specified before you buy the check). “The report had all the information I needed. I would have liked the option to print the report as it expires after 30 days.”

We aren't allowed to publish (and don't have access to) this information. You can however request current owner information from the DVLA at this link: https://www.gov.uk/request-information-from-dvla

“All of the usual information was there but the main reason for the check was because I had expected to see the previous sale prices of the car. This would have given me more of a reference to negotiate with.”

Hi Sheila, we're glad you found the information useful and we're sorry we weren't able to show you sale information in this instance. Hi Alex, we show the information that the DVLA keeps on the vehicles that our customers check. Sometimes this differs from the actual vehicle if vehicles have been changed over time and sometimes it's just wrong! Our stolen/written-off data is always accurate and we're sorry in this instance if the transmission was listed wrongly.

Hi Adam, sorry that you weren't 100% satisfied with the check as it doesn't show the mileage. Unfortunately, mileage reporting isn't mandatory when people sell cars so nobody (not even the DVLA) have an accurate record of vehicle mileage. We do show previous sales advertisements where available which sometimes include a mileage to give you an idea of what this has been reported as over time.

“Bought the service but felt let down, it only gave me information that I could get free on the DVLA website, the website led me to believe that I could find out current and previous keepers but it only gives you the number of keepers which as I said you can find out for free”

Jane, we're really sorry you felt let down. The most valuable part of our information to most customers is our stolen and insurance write off data which cannot be found for free (it's sourced from the Police and Insurance Industry databases - not the DVLA). We always show the number of previous keepers but never show keeper details as this would breach the DVLA's requirements. We can show you how to request these from the DVLA though and have sent you an email with more information.
