“Stay away from this company. When things go wrong, the platform says it's not responsible and has zero power to issue any refund. The mechanic can simply not engage as their details are hidden from the customer. No protection for the consumer. You will be much better off going to your own local mechanic.”
“Click Mechanics, what a joke, I took a day off work for them, the car needed a timing belt change, to be fair they did turn up, looked at the car for a few minutes, then said that we couldn’t do the job, the engine was on it’s way out. The car has a full service history & it’s never wanted for anything. A mechanic who I know said there’s nothing wrong with the car & he’s changing the timing belt as I’m typing this. Plus, Click Mechanics took the money out of the account before they even turned up, let’s hope they refund the money, fingers crossed. I wouldn’t recommend this lot to my worst enemy. Disgraceful. 😡😡😡”
“Terrible experience as a customer.
Paid £170.00 for a priority slot to replace a battery. The mechanic who arrived was pleasant but clearly in a rush to complete the job. He replaced the battery and left immediately.
The following week I used the car, I drove to my location parked and returned to my car where the car would not start. I had no choice but to call the RAC. The RAC reviewed the car and reported that the battery was the wrong size for the car, incorrectly fitted as the battery was loose in the bonnet and had been connected incorrectly.
After appealing this Clickmechanic refunded me £29.68 as they take no responsibility for the work undertaken by the mechanics.
I would absolutely not recommend this service it is poor and little more than a scam.”
“USE YOUR LOCAL MECHANIC DIRECT! Charge a fortune, their price is 20% cheaper if you go direct to the mechanic as all they do is hide 20% commission on every job and they are not helpful at all. USE YOUR LOCAL MECHANIC DIRECT”
“Awful service, put us in touch with a proper cowboy outfit that "lost" our car for more than a week, only the threat of police action made them "find" it. They fitted our clutch incorrectly leading to a chain of events that would ultimately cost us almost £3000, AVOID AVOID.”
“Avoid, avoid, avoid!!! First of all, the positive reviews here are mostly from fake accounts or bots. If you don't believe me, check them out, no brainer. As for the service, it is horrible beyond anything I have ever experienced... Booking any mechanic takes ages (the 4 hours is a myth), but it doesn't matter if you get a booking because they will cancel it anyways. But oh, they just cancel the booking they do it 5 minutes before the visit, giving you some insane unbelievable excuses. I had the easiest job on earth-rear brakes pads and discs replacement. 1st mechanic, 3 days after requesting the job (not 4 hours), cancelled 5 minutes before, no reason given. Another 2 days and I got another booking, which as you can guess was cancelled again. The second one was a complete joke, it was booked for 6pm at 5:22 I got a message that the mechanic is on his way. I also messaged him earlier that that asking if he is really coming because I got cancelled job once - he said 100%. So I parked my car conveniently on a driveway and waited. However it was getting late so I checked my emails just to learn it was, yes you are correct, cancelled! I contacted the customer service to ask what the hell, and I heard that the first mechanic was apparwntly a victim of a crime. The other one told me on the other hand that he didn't have the part for me so he cancelled it (yes clickmechanic allows their mechanics take the jobs even if they don't have the equipments or parts...). This was on Friday, 2 days ago. Out of curiosity I left it open to see if a can get another mechanic. Nothing after 2 days...”
“I am dissatisfied with the service provided by Calum. Initially the service at 5star in Blaydon, Newcastle was satisfactory. However, I was charged £500 for an additional timing chain replacement which had not been carried out. I subsequently had my car checked by a local garage and was informed that the plastic under trays had not been removed which would have been the first step in the process.
When I complained to Clickmechanic they dismissed my complaint directing me to the garage I had been using and closed my case marking it as resolved.”
“Very disappointed, they will only fit fit parts they supply, I stated I wanted to use genuine parts that I supply and they said it's not possible, seems like they are making money off parts as well , come on you can do better than this ..”
“Absolutely terrible experience, I had a quote for 4 glow plugs to be replaced, then the mechanic came and only did 3 as one of them was too tight to undo (which is understandable) I then messaged clickmechanic as he did not replace all 4 but yet clickmechanic still paid him full payment without my consent. I then appealed and it took them a week to make a decision and they still sided with the mechanic. So in essence clickmechanic will always side with the mechanic as the mechanic makes them money, no such thing as fair. All I said was refund me 1/4 of the total which makes sense as he only did 3/4 of the job. Unbelievable. No morals at all.”
“Absolute cowboys,I paid for a diagnostic only for James to come out tell me I had a starter motor issue wack it with a hammer then leave,no diagnostic done. I then spent ages trying to resolve this and got nowhere and guess what?starter motor is still fine so how about giving me my refund? Whatsmore click mechanic say they'll try to help resolve issues another lie and then tell you they're just a Web service and nothing more so cannot do anything even though its them that talked me through the whole process and took payment, and yes I will keep warning everyone.”
“After reading everyone else’s problems I’m just another to add to the list . Had work carried out for new clutch , yes NEW clutch . Car came back at midnight ! 7 hours late , they didn’t give a damn really . Few messages from garage n click .
Then parts have failed ( not a new clutch fitted at all , click “ oh it’s not our fault it’s the garage you used , they no longer with us “ , you vet them arseholes your responsibility ! Yes my advice stay well clear , do not use , rather put a gun the the bonnet of the car and put it to sleep than trust Click ( not ) mechanic .”
“Completely ripped off
Completely ripped off. Was charged £83.98 each for the fitting of headlamp adjusters when these are priced at around £6 each online. I also paid for a service but after a couple of weeks the oil level warning light and the windscreen washer warning lights were both lit up. Oil change was included in the service and the car is not leaking oil.”
“Had a clickmechanic out to check over a car we are selling and it didn't go well he dropped the key lost internals and didn't fix it then went on to leave coolant cap loose causing coolant to go everywhere luckily we noticed but this could have caused serious engine problems. Absolute cowboys steer clear”
“The mechanic charged me £75 for an ABS diagnostic despite admitting he couldn't get his equipment to connect to carry out said diagnostic. Misdiagnosed an electrical issue with the lights and told me I needed new parts when it was simply a soldering job by an auto electrician. Changed a rear indicator bulb, charged me £100 for the privilege and left me with a still not working vehicle.
Clickmechanic don't care. They step back from any disputes and say they're just a third party booking platform. Utterly useless and will report to Trading Standards.”
“Total scam. Booked for an air con recharge. Claimed it needed £400 more work which was untrue. Still charged me and have never been back since. Should be shut down.”
“The inspection was not just poor — it was useless.
Shocking Oversight – Strongly Advise Against This Service
I paid £150 for a pre-purchase inspection that rated the car as excellent across the board — no issues flagged at all. Based on that, I went ahead and bought the car.
Days later, a warning light came on. A diagnostic revealed over 19 fault codes. I then tracked down a previous mechanic who described the car as a “nightmare,” with serious wiring problems and dodgy fixes that should have been obvious in any proper inspection.
This service completely failed to spot major faults. I used it to avoid buying a problem car — now I’m stuck with exactly that and can’t afford the repairs.
The inspection was not just poor — it was useless. Strongly recommend going elsewhere.”
“I booked for a new timing belt and full service. Within a month I booked another mechanic for another issue. He showed me various parts that should have been changed during service. The oil filter was filthy, the air filter was also filthy. He showed me the covers and screws and told me they had never been touched. When I contacted click mechanic they told me it was between me and the mechanic and obviously he would not admit. DONT USE CLICK MECHANIC. Use a trusted local garage instead.”
“I booked a rear brake discs and pads replacement through ClickMechanic. Without warning, the price was changed on my dashboard more than double — and I was never notified.
ClickMechanic blamed the mechanic for increasing it himself without informing me, but after speaking to him directly, I found out he didn’t change the booking. He simply asked for a price increase due to their 30% cut, and ClickMechanic updated it themselves without telling me.
I cancelled and went to the mechanic directly, who did the job perfectly. Thankfully, ClickMechanic cancelled the booking without charging me, but the lack of transparency and blame-shifting was disappointing.
Use with caution — the concept is convenient, but the execution was poor.”
