“Original advert (found in the Caura app) sold this as a revolutionary MOT service all done on your front driveway. Not true - someone turned up and took the car to a service centre in Park Royale, far from my home. Click mechanic took over £700 of my money before I even got a chance to approve the work, and carried out the necessary fixes to pass the MOT. I was willing to call it a day, even though it felt excessively expensive, however, less than a week later the clutch gave up, costing me £600 to fix through an independent garage. After another 2 weeks the engine started making a new rattling sound I'd never heard before. I drove all the way to the service centre in Park Royale (45 mins drive) but the customer service there was terrible
- they could hardly remember the job or the car from two weeks ago. The guy pointed at a couple of things and did the mechanic want around.
I then took my car to three independent mechanics... none of which would investigate the engine tapping sound for less than £1000. The sound remains to this day with additional loud humming and grinding...
While this could all be down to extraordinary coincidence, I doubt the problems would have appeared within isuch a short space of time if I'd not left my car in the hands of the shoddy team sent by Click Mechanic. Whatever they did to my car in that MOT centre made me realise I should never have trusted this service, and to always go to a local mechanic who I know and trust who won't rip me off.”
“Would give 0 stars if possible. Absolutely apalling. Advertise mechanics are vetted and qualified but buried in the terms and conditions is the fact that the mechanic you enter into contract with is at liberty to send someone else to do the work. No obligation for this person to be vetted or qualified. My contracted mechanic says he sent his friend to replace my clutch, had to go straight to garage first time tried to drive it. Click mechanic don't give a damn.”
“If I could give no stars I would. Paid for a full service, that took 40 minutes. The mechanic did not have a stamp to stamp the service book and asked to borrow a pen from me to write in the service book. I did say I wanted my service book stamped. What if I want to sell my car?
Took my car to another garage for a visual vehicle health check. The garage told me the oil filter done on the full service was leaking from the sump plug. Contacted Clickmechanic who were no help, went back and forth with the mechanic who did the work via txts, and he did not come back to rectify his bad work. He had the audacity to call me a scammer. I am the one who feels scammed after paying £159 for full service that the oil filter and oil will need replacing, due to leakage. So paying twice!!
Thanks but no thanks Click Mechanic . Will avoid you lot in the future!!”
“Mechanic was supposed to change brake pads and discs as they were squealing. Instead of doing so they said the brakes were fine and just swapped over the brake pads. Unsuprisingly, they now just squeal on the other side. They have since stopped responding to messages and I'm down £400 with the same problem. I would really avoid these guys.”
“I booked a DPF cleaning with Click Mechanic, it's a standard and simple on-car procedure that they offer.
When the mechanic turned up, he warned me in his broken English that I would have to change the oil and filter otherwise the engine would blow up!!! Not a good start, especially when you've done a service just the week before... As I refused, then he said he can only do a off-car cleaning, but I would have to pay extra, costing even more than replacing the DPF.
At this point, I realised the guy just wanted extra money and I had wasted my time booking with Click Mechanic, so I sent him back home and recommended to spend the 3h of unused labour to learn about DPF cleaning.
I'll never EVER use them again, they are dishonest and I'm sure they do it with everyone and it works most of the time, but as a mechanical engineer I would never trust this company again.”
“If I could give zero stars, I would. We arranged a pre-purchase car inspection, booked a day and time. The mechanic never contacted us, and we received no news until very late on the scheduled day when he informed us that he hadn't contacted the dealership or completed the inspection. Instead, he came up with numerous exclusions. The next day, we still couldn't find him as he never responded to calls or texts. Again, when he finally picked up the phone, he provided excuses. He promised to visit that day, but then we heard from the dealership that the check was scheduled for two days later. We raised tickets through their platform, but the communication was poor; they barely responded. Eventually, we had to cancel and proceed with AA, who at least demonstrated professionalism. We wasted a week on a car we needed to buy urgently. Don't trust them; they're just scammers who want to work whenever they feel like it. You buy the premium package, but this is what you get in return. A very unpleasant experience that caused unnecessary frustration.”
“Car came back from a routine service just not ticking over properly, strange as it was fine before they took the car. Opened the bonnet to see that they had failed to replace the oil cap and there was oil all over the engine. The mechanic did comeback and clean up the mess but took responsibility for the issue.”
“Thieves, cowboy mechanics. Took money straight from our account and did not solve the problem and refused to refund money back. DONOT USE THEIR MECHANICS”
“I had a perfectly good running car with a tiny oil leak from rocker cover after this so called mechanic left l had a car that would not tick over and was backfiring had it 7 years and never had any problem like this texted mechanic and asked politely has he re set the mixture as it wasn’t running as it was when he arrived surprise surprise he ignored my messages complete cowboys do not let them near your car”
“DO NOT USE !!!!!! DO NOT USE !!!!!
Car was booked in with ClickMechanic, discovered 48 hours before he was due that I had a year’s R.A.C cover free of charge. Sent them a message to cancel my appointment with no response. I then sent the same message again, and even with the Mechanic Sean, saying I would like to cancel, and on this occasion they then replied saying I am canceling with less than 24 hours notice and will be charged £20, how ironic.”
“They gave me a quote of £678.12 to replace a rear window regulator on my Peugeot 2008.
I got the job done by a local garage for £145 !!!!
They gave a total rip off quote of more than £500 more than it cost me!”
“I would like to share my experience of using ClickMechanic which at first was very good and felt very confident with the service I received. The day came when the vehicle was due to be collected. I had a slot between 8-10. At 9:45 I received a phone call from the mechanic to say that they had ordered the wrong filter and the correct filter was due to be delivered late afternoon. I was then asked if they can collect the car the next day. This was extremely inconvenient as the day I had chosen fitted in with my schedule. I decided to cancel and then was charged a £40 cancellation fee which was totally out of order as in realty the mechanic cancelled on me and did not honour his part by fixing my car on the selected date.
Also with ClickMechanic they take the money up front with the excuse it is pre authorised. They have over £200 of my money which will take at least 5 days to get back to my account. As a nurse working for the NHS, my salary isn’t great and can’t afford to wait that long for my money and pay a cancellation fee. Don’t use Click Mechanic its just one big scam”
