“The online ordering system only works half the time. The system set up to help sort these problems out is non existent. It directs you to a live chat for support that actually doesn't exist. Supplies horrible coffee. Runs out of one egg brand, instead of supplying a different brand, supplies nothing.”
“I had a very disappointment experience with an employee at the self-checkouts today, 15/07/2025, at Colonnades Coles Supermarkets. I made an honest mistake during scanning and immediately called and informed the staff member what I have done, and I repeated again explaining once more my mistake. Instead of acknowledging this, the employee responded with unnecessary arrogance, and insisted I watch the CCTV footage – despite me already admitting the mistake.
I felt uncomfortable and judged, even though I was upfront and cooperative. Mistakes can happen to anyone, even to professional check out operators, and customers who take responsibility should be treated with respect, not arrogance. This kind of attitude is not what I expect from a place I shop at regularly, as I was not trained to work at check outs. Coles’ staff should be trained and reminded of the importance of respectful customer service.”
“Coles Ocean Shores 11.30;am. ..so many shelves empty or half empty,one staff on checkouts,one on service counter,and one on self serve, needed price check stood at checkout for 10 minutes they called for check three times and no one came…left store…..very poor management regarding staff and shelves.”
“Not sure if anyone else has had difficulties in purchasing Masterchef Laura's butterscotch ice cream. I went to 7 Coles stores and nothing. Emailed Coles and was advised this was a limited promotion and that stock when sold out would not be restocked. I contacted Customer Service as was told there were 13 available at Coles Firle - again nothing (half an hour from phone call to Coles). This promotion has been an absolute joke and the worst Coles has ever done. Was stock ever available?”
“I purchased a frozen blueberries and it says no added sugar.But when I opened the packed I couldn’t even eat because of the sweetness. I checked the back and for 100 grams 9.5 grams of sugar per serving %16 is a huge amount that I never tasted this much sweetness in natural blueberries without added sugars.So FALSE İNFORMATİON to customers.Disappointing and disgusting”
“No price matching and poor staff/ customer relations.
Asked employee about price matching, in an what i felt was aggressively manner told that Coles had never and never will price match. Then lead up with directing me to return the item to the shelf as they are too busy and nowhere to place the item/s.
I sent a complaint and only recieved that Coles doesn't have a price match policy, nothing about the way I was spoken to.
I have been a customer of coles for probably 30- 40 years ,I only use Woolworths for delivery as coles hasn't offered until recently at Bateman's Bay.
I will never buy at Coles again and encourage others not, especially if you're going to be treated as second rate people.”

“The worst for online orders. Their paypal payment doesn't work. When you call to get assistance the wait time is over 30 minutes. First time the operator was helpful and assisted in processing the order through paypal. The next time the operator insisted it was my account and just cut me off. Never processed my order. Woolworths are much better. Will only use them from now on.”
“We placed an online order as we were getting home from overseas and knew we would be tired, but knew we would need groceries. When we unpacked to cook dinner instead of 4 pieces of meat they had delivered one small fillet that was never going to feed a family of 4. I then had to go to the supermarket anyway and they couldn’t refund me, or give me a credit towards what I had to now buy because “It’s a different department”
FOUR days later there is a partial refund with no explanation as to why. Apparently I should have checked what they originally charged me on my credit card because they knew they only sent 1 of the wrong item instead of 2.
I certainly won’t opt for the “convenience” of shopping online with Coles again”
“The worst place to shop! Terrible quality food and lack of customer care. When i complained about a food item that was less than fresh before its due date i questioned why and asked to speak with a manager. I received no response to my question and my request for a manager was ignored.
If you value your health and as a customer are expected to pay premium prices, then you would expect high-quality food and decent customer service. Unfortunately, Coles failed to meet these expectations. I believe it's crucial for customers to receive value for their money and proper attention to their concerns. THEREFORE, COLES DO NOT DESERVE YOUR MONEY NOR YOUR LOYALTY. ITS ABOUT TIME WE BOYCOTT COLES AND SHOP ELSEWHERE.”
“Your staff are awesome but corporate are the scourge of the earth. I am guessing with record profits they get huge bonuses under guise of investors returns. They don't care about us customers, we are a means to an end...the end of which is their individual income pushing up well and truly over 6-7 figures. Look at how low you pay the front line employees, the ones who actually do the work (unlike you lot), how are they supposed to pay rent and feed themselves. Oh that's right, you lot do not care do you because you think a pathetic discount makes up for it. It's absolutely disgraceful when prices have double on almost everything while inflation has decreased and your profit margins increase. I call it profiteering.... don't blame your suppliers or the cost or the cost of transport. Have some transparency and accountability. Transport is tax deductible, so are wages and losses plus the company has an extremely low tax rate compared to us customers. An inquiry may find you lot profiteering but we all know nothing will come of it because you lot have a monopoly on the food market. And as we have seen before with fuel prices nothing gets done. So I am now boycotting your shops and will go to the independent shops. I hope all Australian do so that your profits plummet, forcing the company to reduce prices to what they should be.”
“Online ordering system is a joke, it says on the customers end the order is there but when you speak to so called customer service they say they cannot find it. They then will not attempt to deliver it and say it was my fault when clearly it is listed on my order page as a active order. Way of compensation is a big 20 dollars and a very very insincere apology, if you can call it that. Arrogant and rude staff who really do not care, must be good to be big business and be supported by the government so you are not accountable for anything.”
