“The reason for just 3 stars is that I overcooked it- it is in no way a reflection of the quality of the product. I meant to order 1 gammon joint of 3 kgs and did not notice I had ordered 3 joints of 1 kg each until I got home from picking it up. This has proved to be just as well as the guests who were coming were not able to because of new Covid restrictions. The remaining two are in the freezer and when I cook them will do so for less time.”

“Not very impressed, looked grey when unwrapped, possibly owing to having no nitrates. Taste was acceptable but I won't buy it again”

“I would love to write a review but as our Christmas plans were cancelled, the turkey had to go straight into the freezer hopefully to reappear at Easter! However it arrived well packaged, with lovely fresh herbs and on time so that was a good start.”

“I ordered 4 items, 2 of which were partially defrosted on arrival - I was told it would be OK to refreeze, but I'm not convinced. Can't comment on quality of meat as I haven't used it yet! This experience has put me off using the company again.”

“Unfortunately didn't find this as tender as the goat meat I normally buy in the butchers... Sorry, to say it wasn't much to my taste... Saying that, I would probably purchase some products again - as I feel better to eat products that as naturally farmed as possible”

“They are very friendly and have a good range of products, but have never responded to the feedback I have given them about products or service that have not lived up to expectations - except to say that they hoped I would come back. I would like to support them more, but feel that after a few problems and disappointments my loyalty is ebbing. Back to Riverford for me, whose service is outstanding and meat products have improved in my view after a lull in the mid 2010s”
