“I'm not a huge fan of salmon generally but these fillets are significantly better than standard fish on the market. Pale salmon colour and firm flesh. Recommended”

“Very good quality products, unfortunately, the box was ripped and a few of the ice pads had fallen out but I think that was all to do with the delivery company. Real enjoyed the broths so far.”

“The turkey was good, and presented well. When I picked it up, it was presented in a sealed box. On opening it at home, I was shocked to see how much plastic was inside. All the cool bags, which the leaflet says are reusable, in all honesty will never get reused by me as I already have a supply. Had I been told when I collected it, I would have left the cool bags behind. Shame, because when buying organic, one assumes that other aspects of environment issues would be considered (beyond a leaflet). Driving the cool bags back the 10 mile trip doesn't make environmental sense either.”

“The duck arrived frozen solid, which is testament to the packaging, but I hadn’t realised that was going to be the case when I ordered it, so it’s a good job I had selected delivery a few days before Christmas. Happily it defrosted in the fridge in perfect time and it was delicious! The pigs in blankets were not as tasty.”

“I ordered the small turkey Christmas box and the unsmoked gammon. The items arrived as scheduled and were perfectly packed. The turkey was moist and succulent. Bacon and pigs in blankets were delicious. My only small complaint was the stuffing had an overwhelming taste of sage. The gammon was perfect. Very lean with wonderful flavour. I would highly recommend.”

“We had a Turkey breast with trimmings for Christmas. Delivery was really efficient and communication clear. The meat was well packaged with ice packs ensuring the frozen elements of the delivery remained frozen. The turkey was lovely and well worth spending a bit more on than we would have done in the supermarket. The gravy that came with the box was also delicious. The only let down were the pigs in blankets and the stuffing. The stuffing was almost inedible; very dry and overly peppery with a weird vegan type taste- it didn’t taste like stuffing at all. The sausages seemed to be produced from the same mix and tasted similarly dry and peppery. I would order meat again but not the extras.”

“Had the duck, very tender and tasty but only just fed 3 people. Also boned pork shoulder was very nice - needs plenty of cooking to render the fat. Great delivery and communications.”

“Excellent delivery service up to time etc. Food arrived at the point of beginning to defrost. The ice packs had slipped down the sides and food was not as closely insulated as expected. Put into freezer rapidly. Defrosted thoroughly: into fridge the day before and defrosted in kitchen overnight. Cooked in 2 Oven Aga according to online instructions for 5kg weight. The Aga was up to temperature and other foods were cooking normally. However this was too short a time and I had quite a panicky time trying to rescue the situation while everyone was already at table. There was blood oozing from centre and all juices were pink. Ended up slicing the item across the middle and microwaving half for 2 + 1 minutes. Put other half back in top oven of Aga for 40 minutes. That part is still to be eaten but came out lovely and brown surrounded by the right looking juices. The family still enjoyed the 3 bird roast; but I now wish that I had had an (expensive) trial run before the day.”
