My Unfortunate Experience below in email to company: Dear Corgihomeplan, Policy Number: 617938 After being told yesterday that my Boiler Heat exchanger was faulty and would not be covered by your insurance as the terms and conditions state it was not wired correctly (even though it has been running faultlessly for 7 years since instalation!) I was then told by your representative, that you did have a sister company that would instal a new boiler for me with a £400 discount, which was extremeley worrying as I was under the impression that I was fully insured for parts and labour of my boiler. Not happy with the non service and being as I was left with no hot water or heating, I thought it best to try and reach out to another engineer to get my heating back up and running as soon as possible. I am pleased to say that I have got my central heating fixed by a Gas Safe friend of the family who wishes to stay annonimous. Totaly different to your Engineer, he diagnossed that the likeley problem from the fault code F23 was the central heating pump, he said the existing pump maybe running slow and I asked him to change it. He did so and 1.5 hours later everything is running perfectly, a big difference to your companies suggestion of getting a new boiler fitted with only £400 discount to myself which may have cost thousands of pounds out of my own pocket. Attached is a video of the boiler working and a picture of the new working replacement pump. As explained today on the phone the fact that you were not willing to fix the fault I had without me paying for it meant that the insurance was surely void, for this reason alone I request to have the funds I have paid into this non service repaid to me in full and the policy ripped up.

After four years I received my renewal quote which was £70 more than the existing cost an increase of about 30%. I queried this and was given a vague excuse about number of claims made and age of boiler - I have never claimed and the boiler is only 5 years old. I cancelled my auto renewal and my direct debit. I was then bombarded with phone calls. The first one claimed to be from Corgi Homeplan and then asked me my personal details which I refused to give - they cold called me and expected ME to identify myself! I ignored the rest of the calls which eventually ceased. I was then surprised to receive a renewal email on the due date and to find that they had reinstated my direct debit without my approval - a blatant abuse of the direct debit system. I cancelled it again and complained to the company. Hopefully that is the end of the matter.

Problem started with cHtg not coming on. This was Friday apprx 2.00 pm. Rang Corgi who sent two engimeers on Saturday. Had my suspicions about them right away, didn't even wipe there feet! They said it was a faulty prgrammer. Came back Monday and took them 3 hours to install! Still not working! Rang Corgi and they sent an engineer from Vailliant. He checked the boiler, said it's ok, left. Rang Corgi again. This time(Weds pm) guy turned up from Heywood Gas. Said it was a faulty diverter valve. Returned Thur am and fixed it. C/htg still not working. He said no power to the pump, but he wasn't an electrician (very common problem with c/htg engineers). Rang Corgi again. First electrician arrived scratched his head and left! Rang again! Second electrician arrived and at least temporarily gave me heating/hot water tilll he arrived back on Friday and installed another new clock. Eventually it worked! One week with no heating/ hot water in freezing conditions. Six visits from eight so called engineers and fifteen phone calls. Absolutely dire. Avoid. I'll cancel Corgi and go with Homeserve.

I had problems with my central heating. I phoned Corgi and told them my wife was a vulnerable person. I received a call from Rich of RDS in Barton in Lincolnshire and he made the journey to Hull on the night time, and made a temporary fix and got central heating working for the night and promised he would be back next morning, as promised he was back next morning and fitted a new Motorised valve. All okay. Thanks to Rich @ RDS for is prompt and efficient service and going the extra mile Thanks Rich ! I have been with Corgi 3 years and always had great service. Col. Hot water went off so a plumber came .He ordered the part came back next day and fitted it. 2 days later same problem. Another plumber came ordered part and came the next day to fit it but said their was a big bang so he switched boiler . Now no heating or hot water as boiler switched off. Electrician came on Saturday night but was informed by plumber he did not do what he was supposed to. Second electrician phoned to arrange to get all electrical work checked. He said he would be either Tuesday or Wednesday evening. I get a call from Corgi saying he now cannot come till Monday . We are both over 70 All they say is they are sorry. Diabolical company beware folks

I had a problem with the programmers on our system, this I was told was covered on my policy. However after a week had passed I still hadn’t heard anything so phoned again and was told abruptly that the engineer would contact me half hour before he arrived. Here I am now over a month later, and still, despite calling again and receiving 2 texts, one to say that an engineer had been booked for (this morning), and then another text to say that an engineer had been booked for tomorrow morning within a two minute period, I was already loosing confidence once again. You guessed it!!!! Still waiting (2 days at time of review), so there only remains one option now and that is to cancel contract. Just to add, in the past the service has been fairly consistent. The times that I have had to call them they have responded quickly and have solved the problem usually in one visit. But at the present time for me, their communication and service has dropped off the scale.

Terminated my contract this week. Booked my yearly boiler service and no one turned up. No one rang me to say the office had cancelled the service even though they have my contact number. When I rang them they told me I had cancelled it. Need I say more really.

Do not even bother. An actual Corgi could do it better. Sent an engineer to fix a boiler the next day even though it should have been same-day. Engineer turned the boiler off and on again and said it's fixed. Worked for a few hrs and was broken the next morning. Said will send another engineer the day after (so day 5 of no hot water). Engineer came in, said it's a PCB and replaced it. Everything fine. 5 mins later engineer comes back saying they won't pay for the PCB and removed it. They said they'll have the manufacturer repair the boiler. So almost a week for something that should have been same day. All about maybe £20 or £30 difference in part cost.

Had my boiler serviced on 17th April Had my boiler serviced on 17th April. Everything absolutely fine and we received a certificate by email to this effect. We reported loss of pressure. Engineer advised a screw had disintegrated so he replaced it. Pressure still dropping so back he comes and advises we need a new pump but this would need to be fitted by Vailliant Enginee. Said engineer called out yesterday and advised our heat exchanger was badly corroded and had been for some time judging by the corrosion marks. Gas emitting at a dangerous level from back of heat exchanger so immediately dangerous. Corgi really couldn’t care less so we are without hot water and heating for the second day and we care for a disabled and vulnerable adult. Legal advice will be taken but please proceed with extreme caution.

My brother-in -law who is nearly 90 and my sister who is recovering from treatment for cancer hve been without heating and hot water for 11 days. Yesterday, day 10, an engineer came to fix the problen but had the wrong part for the wrong boiler. It is an absolute disgrace as they were made fully aware of the vunerability of teir customers. It has a profound effect on their physical and mental health. Would not recommend this service. Wendy Newell.

very unhelpful advisor answered the phone , refused to send an engineer , even though i explained the fault and happen the last time this happened. Requested to speak to a manager ,he said it would be 24hrs for a call back , i offered a time for they to call after 4.30 so i would be able to take the call he refused to take the time .It is a shame that the rating starts at one star , i would give them minus 10. They take your premium , but dont provide a service.
