“I am writing to complain about the way I was treated at your Fort Myers branch on 10/30/2024.
The cashier, Soraya, hit my merchandise, which was the food that I was going to pay for, brutally battered against the counter.
I waited my turn patiently, I have the right to be treated with respect, and not as if I had bought leftover disposable products.
That meal will be cooked and eaten by my family, we were doing the monthly shopping, we go once or twice up to three times a month and I can show you that we make a respectable investment for your company, or we used to.
I called the manager and he didn't even apologize while Soraya continued mistreating the merchandise, like a bag of stones, the manager Raul offered me to change the cashier line, he said but that the treatment would be the same, I informed him that I did not agree with the service, that that is no way to treat food and that Soraya was not doing a good job and the proof was that Soraya added merchandise to our cart that was not ours.
Raul stopped us when we were leaving because the next customer noticed the mistake.
When the merchandise is on the island and in the car it is Cotsco items, when I, the customer, pay for it it is mine and I organize it where and how I want, Costco system is an insult to the food and who eats it, a lack of respect and consideration for the customer, now that their cashiers throw it in the cart and do not allow the customer to put it in their bags, is lack of courtesy, this concept is accepted in the markets because it increased the number of markets and self-checkout, for whatever reasons you want, but that concept is included.
It is also based on the common sense of not putting a bag of potatoes on top of eggs or bananas, the products that need cooler together, that make sense? To you?. I usually bring my own coolers and pack of ice to preserve frozen products.
My husband John witnessed the situation that day, and he was shocked and speechless, my daughter Barbara is the account holder, and I am in charge of the inventory, administration, and purchase of what is necessary, I am a chef, for the house, that is why I personally select what we are going to consume, how and when from which market.
Costco is no longer on my list since I distribute my purchases among other markets where the prices are very good and the service is excellent, Trade Joe, Walmart, Publix, and occasionally Winngs, their cashiers are friendly, they are not possessed like maniacs, the clients are respected since the profits that pay their salaries depend on them, the service standards are excellent, clients enjoy the time necessary to make their purchases and the market even offers to take the merchandise to the car.
Soraya's behavior is not isolated, I am tired of this type of mistreatment at Costco Naples, they do the same thing, the self-checkout has so many barriers that it is even slower, and all the controls that are carried out by the "stealing" customer are a pain.
All the rush from the cashier is useless because the “stealing control” slows down after that, Costco as clients we are all suspicious, the experience is disgusting, never count on me, anymore, and I am a person who reads reviews before using a service or making a purchase because others are generous with their time and warn about bad services and in compensation I also do it, that way we all improve the lives of others, it is a small contribution.
This experience was exactly two months ago, but the way they made me feel was so horrible that I couldn't let it go, the least I deserve is an apology and that's Costco's job.”

“My family and I have been Costco members for over 10 years. Within the past few years Costco has become ridiculous with the rules they have been imposing. The fact that we MUST show/prove our membership before entering the warehouse is absolutely insane otherwise they prevent you from entering. Why??? Also the fast that my husband and I live in the same household, are married and my husband cannot pay using his CC all while I am standing right next to him. Costco makes you feel like we are entering homeland security or the White house that such security needs to be put in place over just members shopping.
Because this has only gotten more ridiculous and I feel will continue, I have cancelled my membership and I got 8 family households to do the same. We are now BJ's members as well as Sam's club. Since Costco is nothing but seeking greed at this point, I will continue to have members end their membership until Costco goes back to the Costco we knew it to be, that cared about their customers and our experience.
Costco is not giving anything for free, we still pay for what we shop and the membership and should not feel like Costco is the state penitentiary that controls us!!!”

“I have Costco hearing aids. I’ve been buying them at Costco since 2010. They are no longer working and I need to replace them. I have severe hearing loss and cannot work at all without them. Costco doesn’t give a damn! I just want to order a new pair from Costco have them programmed once they come in. Instead I have to wait 3 weeks for an appt to have my hearing tested. Then order them and wait two weeks for them to arrive. Then order book another spot to have them fitted. This means I’m almost totally dead for 6-8 weeks because I’m required to be tested for hearing loss I’ve had since birth!! Coast Hearing aids are low cost, but the service absolutely sucks!”

Received a Todd Hunter Hamper (The Winter Tale)
from our Family today, a very kind Christmas present.
Sadly the Hamper was poorly packed.
Crisp packet was open and crisps have gone stale,
box of mince pies were squashed, shortbread biscuits were squashed and biscuits are broken inside.
Chocolate boxes all dented in.
The only items in tact are the tin of biscuits, bubble wrapped bottles of drink and jam.
I am embarrassed to tell our family who bought this Hamper, they are regular Costco customers and spend a lot of money throughout the year with Costco.
Whoever packed this Hamper looks like they just threw
the items in the Basket and put the heavy bottles on top of the lightweight products.
Very very poor packaging and very disappointing.
One handle of the basket is also loose.”

I went shopping with my daughter who has a membership, she wanted to pay and make 2 transactions and rudely an employee approached us and told us that we couldn't do it and that we should buy another membership if we wanted to make 2 transactions. We spoke in Spanish and also in English and when he heard us speaking in Spanish he told us "you are talking bad about me, I am going to need a translator to know what you are saying about me," he said sarcastically and he became so rude, he was a white man, I felt offended and discriminated against! “I paid nearly $1000 for a pool from Costco. this over 350 pound pool was supposed to come in two boxes. I received only one box clearly marked two of two. I called and was kept on the phone for over an hour. They then charged my account for the product will not give me my money back until this 250 pound box is returned to Costco and will not pick up the box for three days. “We ordered a new refrigerator from Costco. They set their delivery window between 2pm to 4pm. It was half past 4pm, and there was a no call, no show. We contacted customer service, and they did apologize, but then made us feel like WE were the inconvenience. My pregnant wife spent all day at home with 2 children, cleaning out the old fridge in preparation for the Costco delivery window. I left work early to be home in time for the delivery. Needless to type, we canceled our order, and will not be renewing our membership. We have been long-term customers with Costco. We hold the top membership, and do a lot of business with them. The product has been for a long time priced at $ 149.97. Recently a note has been added that the item has been previously sold at $ 149.97. Upon noticing, I decided to call and point to the error in pricing, assuming that the current price has to be lower than previously posted $ 149.9. I was told they would look into that and so they did-they changed from the original price of 149.97 to much higher of 239.99 to "justify" and keep the one they posted with a misleading note saying that the item was previously sold at a higher price. What a shame
The product has not been listed at the higher price before to my knowledge, what a shame. That added to my observations from before: lower quality of produce, lower quality of many products and now price adjustments. What also ponders me is the difficulty to post any reviews on their website, especially when it is not positive and I read that I am not the only one experiencing such difficulties.”
