After 5 days I contacted Costco Customer service who advised me the item I ordered was out of stock. Here’s the thing, I’ve been a Costco member for a very long time. I enjoy the experience for the simplified straightforward experience. One tap payment for fuel & warehouse payment as an example.
As I happened to be in Edmonton I thought I’d stop by the 142st location to have a look. Had my AirPods in listening to music and as I cruised past the main entrance as I usually do showing my card as I always do. The clerk said something I didn’t really hear as I went by. As I was walking in the warehouse another clerk approached me and said I didn’t “check in”
I asked when did this start she said about 3 weeks ago.
I said that’s okay, I’ll leave.
So here’s the thing for myself personally. I want my life to be simplified and streamlined, not the other way around. I avoid lineups like the plague. I will Nope this location and any other location that adds additional steps in my Costco experience.
So now I have to wait in a line to check into the warehouse and then someone Checks my membership card when I use the self checkout and then I have to wait again some someone can check my receipt for “errors”

“Went to Costco on powers in Colorado Springs. Had my emotional support dog with me. He is old and can’t walk. Manager Michael denied entry. They need to check out the Colorado law. Can’t make they on one. Rude”
“I visited the store today to buy some essential items for my mother who has a disability. Upon entering the store I was allowed in by security. At the check out an employee by the name of Kelvin seized my mothers membership card and advised she will have to collect it herself despite me pleading with him he refused to return the card. When I requested to speak to a manger he questioned my request. I then proceeded to look for a manager myself. A manager by the name of Dominque was extremely rude, impatient and advised that my mothers membership will be ceased because she has a disability when I asked her where in the terms and a conditions it stipulates this clause she failed to provide me with a satisfactory answer instead she shouted at me and refused to provide me with the head offices email address. My mother has been an executive member of Costco since 2010, I am appalled by the way she has been treated due to her disability. I will engaging a solicitor to write to the business regarding the awful treatment of my mother. I would strongly advise customers to not shop at this store especially if you have a disability.”

“The worst experience when it comes to management. I applied for a membership one week ago at Surrey BC King George avenue and the lady told me the printer was out of order. They took my photo and asked me to download the app. I downloaded the app and it took me through a lengthy process of verification through Interac asking me to login into my bank account. Trusting this huge business I followed the prompts and it said the account is verified. Then when I opened the app it said not verified. I went three times but the bunch of women at the customer service failed to resolve. They asked me to delete the account and app. I did, and they gave me another membership number. Instead of solving the issue, the women kept giving me lectures on becoming a VIP member. 1 went through the whole process of identification and verification again and it still did not work. This multimillion business has not even replaced a f”
“The whole Costco membership process is a joke. I'd recommend going to Sam's or BJ'S.
Looking at the overall one star reviews for all locations, you would think they would address the issue with payment.

“Guy left without installing dishwasher because he said floor was not level. Shouldn’t an installer know how to level an appliance. He left and said he couldn’t do it AND lefty water turned off and when we turned it back on, water was shooting out from bottom of sink where he was trying to connect something. So now we have a dishwasher sitting in our kitchen and no water to even hand wash dishes. Would never recommend buying dishwasher at Costco.”
“The manager at sun prairie Costco his name is Chad, absolutely disgusting behavior from any employee! My daughter is African American and white and she looks more black passing she came in with some Prada glasses frames we bought online and she just needed to get her prescription in them I’ve done this before so I told her about it and she asked Chad for his company fax number so target could send her prescription over and she stepped off to the side Chad decided it would be best to notice the young lady and ask her if the glasse frames were his and basically accusing her of stealing the frames that where on her face. She clearly walked in with them on as a Camera would prove that but she didn’t even want to get the frames switched out to her prescription anymore and was feeling very uncomfortable after words if this how the CEO wrote that discrimination and racism letter I don’t think this was the case.”

“Have been a Costco member for 20+ years. I placed an online order for a washing machine on a Wednesday for delivery on Saturday. Got several emails and a text confirming delivery time. Delivery time arrives and expires and I hear nothing from Costco. Waiting for 2 hours beyond delivery time (almost 9PM) before giving up on them. The next morning I get an email saying delivery was rescheduled for that day (Sunday). I hear no more from them. On Monday I check the status online and it says delivery rescheduled due to customer request? Huh? I never requested this. By Wednesday, I had enough so I called customer service. Guy tells me that they tried to delivery but no one answered the door. I said, did they take pictures, did they call me, did they leave a note? Of course not because it never happened. They failed to delivery and are covering their butts. I told him to cancel and issue a full refund. Later that day I get an email saying the my order was cancelled and a note saying "Product lost". Wow. How do you lose a washing machine? My guess is that they destroyed it somehow or it was employee theft. Hard to believe this is Costco that I was dealing with.”

“Dislike the way Costco keeps changing location of items and doing it very often. Today we found out that they have discontinued the double loaf county style bread and replaced it with a single loaf of rustic Italian, find it very dense and not good flavor. The price of the Filipino Berio olive oil jumped to $49.99 and their membership fees have increased too. Definitely dropping the executive membership and will consider doing more shopping at Walmart and Target. Your self check out employees could be more helpful with less attitude !”
