The whole debacle was poor. I went in to buy an American fridge freezer none in stock. Bought the display model (no discount offered even though it had scratches). Tried to organise credit as xmas is coming but was declined even though no reason was given by finance company. Paid cash bought item which was supposed to be delivered today. Well yes you guessed it no delivery 2 calls put in by me initially this morning and was told if they had a problem someone would let me know. I hasten to add that call was before 8am. Called back at 5.30pm to be told after half an hour on hold my order had been cancelled. I asked why? No idea! I asked what will happen next as I have no fridge or freezer they said we will refund you but you have to go into the store. I've asked for a manager to call but there is a que of calls no doubt from irate unhappy customers. I would urge people to not use currys appalling service and no customer care at all.

Bought TV remote stopped working. Was told in shop they would get a replacement. They then called to say they wanted a serial number off remote and TV. There is no serial number on remote or TV. Have found original remote on Internet, so what are Curry's playing at. They want you to give up and go away. They sell you the goods then do not give a dam. Buy anything from Curry's if it goes wrong, tough.

Absolutely disgusted with the rip off "know how" scam. I have had this service for a number of years. When I needed it I had to wait a week for an engineer to come out, by which time I had lost a freezer full of food. The freezer promptly broke down again and this time they can get around to me in four days. It doesn't take a great intellect to realise that people pay for this service to receive promt attention when disaster strikes, not to wait a week to get a freezer mended. I believe that you have to have an engineer out four times before the appliance is replaced Don't bother trying to get hold of know how by phone, as you end up being passed from one person to another and ending up no further on than when you started. One particularly spiteful phone operative pretended that he didn't know what I was talking about before saying that I had asked him the same question five times and that he couldn't help and refused to put me through to his manager. Great customer service Currys, I for one will never buy anything else from you, and will inform everyone I can about about your dirty tricks.

I'll spare you the full story, but in summary they failed to deliver my TV on a given date, claiming some issue at their Preston centre. So I was given another date.....and another no show. They offered some cock and bull story about issues with their system. My wife asked to speak to a manager and was refused point blank. The call centre operative would not put her through. So we offered to drive to Preston and pick the TV up ourselves, which was refused. I have just checked my Tracker status and it is back to in progress. We are left hanging and hoping those incompetent fools can get their act together. I have never encountered such poor service. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THE DIXON/CURRY GROUP AGAIN, and I strongly urge you to so likewise. UPDATE: I phoned to cancel my order and get my money back, but was told the system was refusing to comply; some kind of error. The operator had to type up a note, instructing someone else to cancel it later. I suspect I'm not going to get my money back. I can't believe how incompetent and inept this organisation is; how have they managed to stay in business.

this one star rating is over rated - after check out tells you they will be in touch when it's in stock?!!! - I have no working cooker, 'when in stock' is no use to man or beast

A few months ago I bought a Kenwood Mixer and attachments (£600) from your Daybrook Arnold store of PC Currys. I couldn't have had better service anywhere, wherever I moved there was an assistant there to help and explain items to me.(I am a 66 year old IT illiterate),Come today I wanted a new battery for my HP Laptop(6 years old but still going well), a new flexi-cover for my Samsung Tab 3 and some screenwash. I stood at the counter for 8 minutes, at the same store, after looking round for what I wanted. There wasn't a soul in sight that could help me find anything and, only 2 other customers. ONE person came from "out-back" and went wandering off around the store. There was only one assistant on the counter, twenty foot long, all the time I was there. A very, very disappointing experience for me after my first visit and seeing the TV Ads. Ah, well I was glad Asda was there. yours John Picksley.

I ordered a tv on Friday as part of the black Friday sales event. Paid extra to recieve it on monday. Wasn't delivered. Wasn't given a tracking number, wasn't told who was delivering it. Spent altogether 3 hours on hold waiting to speak to someone and each time they hung up on me. The absolute worst customer service and extremely hard to get a hold of someone. I called at different times on different days. Still haven't got through to anyone or recieved my order despite the fact that they have already billed me for it.

Ordered a laptop on line last week. When the confirmation came through the delivery address showed not as mine, but as an address where I had previously sent a present. As this other address did not appear when I placed the order, I did not, I think reasonably, think to use the “change the delivery address” function. On their confirmation though there is no option to do this. I tried to ring them (0844 number), waited a number of times for about 10 minutes at a time with no luck so I emailed them. As I had no response for 3 days I kept trying to ring them. Eventually, I got through after 22 minutes. The operator told me that the delivery address cannot be changed, the only thing I can do is cancel the delivery (as opposed to the order, which meant they still had the money), have it sent back to Currys and start the process again! Utterly unacceptable and frustrating

Was looking to buy laptop in Southport Currys shop. Went to ask for help from a group of staff who were stood talking and didn't seem happy that I had interrupted their conversation. They all looked at each other to answer before calling over another member of staff. This staff member was very unhelpful and quickly answered one question before walking away. I then went to ask another staff member about a laptop who helped explain about processors but then walked away. I chose a laptop I wanted and was waiting for a group of 4 staff members to finish their conversation and acknowledge me while I was stood next to them waiting. I was waiting for 20 minutes, while none of the staff paid any attention to me and it was obvious I was waiting. Walked out the shop to purchase a laptop elsewhere.

Well reading the reviews about Curry's PC World has encouraged me to continue with my claim. After moving into our new home we decided to replace the electric hob for a gas hob, so like many others we went down to our Local Store in Newark, Notts. Purchased a new gas hob and was persuaded into letting their Knowhow Team (I say Knowhow loosely) fit the hob for us this cost £75.00 The two guys came and they found out that the electric hob was stuck down quite firmly, they asked if my husband had a sharp knife, my husband then went to look for a Stanley knife, they then asked would I like them to try to take out the old hob I said "I don't know what do you think, I then went into the lounge all of a sudden I heard a loud bang, they had forced the old hob out by pushing from underneath and prising the top with such force the old hob shattered, and the worktop was damaged, one fitter said to the other I knew that would happen didn't you, he nodded. One fitter rushed out to the van with the pieces of glass hob, then rushed in with a disclaimer form, they stood over me and said " if you don't sign this and put into your own words the damage was not our fault the company will take money due out of our wages" I felt emotionally bullied and intimidated so I did as they asked. I have explained all this to Curry's PC World they have rejected my claim as they say I knew that the hob was stuck down, yes I did but didn't expect them to force it out, they should have refused to do the job. In all Curry's correspondence they have not mentioned what the fitters said to me regarding the lies they said, I now doubt if the money would have been taken out of the fitters wages. It makes me so cross that in their advert it states "We start with you" what a load of bullshit.(sorry but that is the only way to describe it)

What a joke of a company!!! You add things to your basket and they contact you to say they can't fulfil the delivery time. You ring to ask why and they said they have no stock yet later on the previous day the item is available to buy!!!

I'm so disappointed by the currys' service. I ordered Huawei P9 lite sim free the day before blackfriday. The deal was supposed to finish the same day and I was emailed the next evening On Black Friday, which I read later, that they couldn't process my order so they won't take any money out of my account. Even though I checked and they had that phone set in stock the next day back on original price. While waiting for that phone I didn't buy any on the Black Friday and missed other deals as well. For me Currys isn't reliable store after this bad experience.

I Reseved a 40inch samsung TV online for my elderly mother, when we got to the store 2 hours later they told me the tv wasn't ready & the assistant phoned through to another person. The other person then came to the till & asked us to follow him to the TV section, he then persisted in trying to sell the "knowhow care plan" for the TV. We told him 3 times that we didn't want the care plan, he then said "well you may as well have because its free as part of a black friday deal" My mother then said "ok then i'll have it". We have now found out that it is only free for 1 month the rest of it is £4.00 a month. I will be making a complaint about this disgraceful way of duping people in to having the care plan.

Paid for installation on new washing machine, and removal of old washing machine. The two clowns who delivered refused to do either. They couldnt wait to get back in there warm van and leave. They did not appear to be qualified, and I certainly would not employ them, and neither will I ever purchase anything from Currys again. The company is a joke.

Truly awful consumer experience. LG washing machine took 4 weeks to be delivered, has not worked properly in 3 months and I am still waiting for them to be able to put me in touch with an engineer to do a diagnostic. I have phoned over 12 times, gone into the store 3 times. Each time I get a different excuse for why they cannot do anything useful. They have lied to my face about my consumer legal rights, cut me off mid-call and failed to call back more times than they haven't, all the while refusing me a replacement or store credit and insisting they have to get an engineer out. Except they can't manage this so I am stuck in a flat with 4 people and no laundry facilities after paying £400 to them. The washing machine regularly takes over 4 or 5 hours to do a small load on the usual settings, which they tell me is normal! The clothes don't come out clean, are soaking wet to the point I can't hang them without damaging the floor, the machine doesn't drain either and has no function to do this when it stops mid-cycle. We had to stop using it when it began flooding the kitchen repeatedly. I really am lost for what to do next with Curry's. They will take no responsibility for this whatsoever and refuse to do anything other that stick to their woefully inadequate system. I will never trust their guarantee or customer service promises again.

This is a copy of my email to Currys: REFERENCE ORDER #CUR1637604738 Am very dissatisfied with you order system and wish to complain and I will be posting my complaint on every available review web site. On 22 of November I decided to purchase an LG TV from Currys and went to the local store in Telford. The item in question is your part #162366 LG model LG-49UH668V 49” TV exclusive to Currys. There were 2 in stock in store, however, the TV was too big to fit into my car and to my surprise Currys did not offer a local delivery service, however, I was advised to order online to get home delivery. I placed the order for this TV @ £499.00 including delivery. After I processed payment did I notice that your system does not indicate stock availability until you have a firm order!!! To my horror the order confirmation stated deliver 2 to 4 weeks!! WHY does your system not inform stock availability until final order process? I was not willing to wait that long as I have already sold the current TV we own. I called customer services and was informed of the following (which I can prove) Your employee agreed that the “stock availability” was frustrating and quote “it would make his life a lot easier if it did” so I assume this is an on-going complaint. I then requested to cancel the order and process a refund, he informed me no problem; however, it would take up to 5 working days for the refund into my account. I asked why Currys can take money within a few hours despite no stock but it takes 5 working days to arrange a refund! Not very fair is it!! He then ASSURED me that 50 pcs were due the next day and 47 were on order including mine and if I would hold on and not cancel I would have the TV by Monday 28th November. As I am not a millionaire and do not have funds to purchase elsewhere prior to the prolonged refund I agreed and was informed I would receive a text maybe today to confirm a delivery date. Well as of one hour ago no such information was forthcoming so I called the service dept. To be told the following: on my repeated comment regarding the stock information prior to order finalisation the reply was again “I agree it would make our lives much easier” again an indication that this is a common complaint that Currys management choose to ignore as many multi retailers do. He then went on to inform me that the TV’s were not due until 28th November not the 23rd!! And that 129 were on order and 300 pcs were due. Who’s telling porkies? I than informed him of my total disappointment in my first and last purchase from Currys and would cancel and get refund, however, of course Currys wont refund until maybe Thursday 1st December i.e. 5 working days from tomorrow!!!! So as he pointed out IF the goods arrive on the 28th I WILL get delivery 30th November latest. BLACKMAIL or what!! So maybe you can comment on this, I’m sure nothing will be done to improve your service looking in Google at the number of negative complaints about Currys confirms this. If I had ordered a similar TV from Argos it would have been delivered same day for £3.95!!!

Visited Weston-super-mare store, we required a new dishwasher. Found the one we wanted , just need to find some one to serve us . There were lots of staff about mainly on ground floor. But no one was willing to help us even after asking . After standing waiting for over half an hour ,we left . We went home and order same dishwasher on line took 10 mins . Guess were we will shop in future.

I paid for a Thermostat & home install and after waiting a week for an engineer, 3 phone calls of 30 minutes each, numerous empty promises, an engineer who did bother to call me to cancel his visit due to the fact he "was too busy" - I have now been told to wait for another week. Oliver from the Knowhow helpdesk certainly did not help me either or try one bit to be accommodating. Avoid people if you can and go elsewhere.
