I was just looking for a basic smartphone, the only requirement was that it had NFC capability. On browsing Currys online I found a device within budget with the feature and therefore placed the order. On receipt of the order I set up the device only to find that the device doesn't have NFC as clearly stated on the website. Looking into other devices which Currys list as having NFC and comparing with manufacturers websites I've found several more which on Currys claim the feature but on the manufacturer states they don't. Seem to be a data integrity issue here. Also when trying to arrange the return there is no option to select "not as described" as the reason for return and then have to go through circles with annoying chat bots which don't help and take me back to my orders to place a return where there isn't the option to return for not as described. Really frustrating until you can finally chat with a human. The human was great once I got there, but the rest is a mess.

sales person was very good and knowledgeable, but I have to say the delivery experience was not so good. I ended up driving back to the shop to pick up my TV travelling 50 miles round trip

Excellent, problem-free on-line shopping, until you need customer services, which are absolutely hopeless. Forget trying to get a query answered, other than such as appear in their limited range of automated answers. The telephone call-centre seems to be in the far-east and is impossible to use.

I ordered a satnav and chose my local store for collection. After conformation the collection store was changed to a store 60miles away. Trying to contact anyone to try to change anything is useless, as the collection point is assigned to a store that has the product in store. Useless, got to travel 120 miles.

I've bought from Currys forever, the only thing over the last 35 years that I have not bought from them was an Onkyo AV receiver and a set of Yamaha surround sound speakers - and that was only because I'd have to have travelled Cardiff to get that sort of thing at the time. Everything else from printers; televisions; computers; flash drives; fridges; freezers; washing machines; kitchen appliances and hard drives; you get the idea,  I've bought from Currys using the same name, same address, same email address etc, and it was no different a few days ago when I spent nearly £1,150 on a new OLED LG TV and 5 Years cover. (The young man who sold me this was brilliant by the way that's why there are 2 stars). Two days later I realised that it would be a good idea to buy a portable hard drive to plug into that television, so I could watch 4K content from it. I could also choose a red one which would differentiate it from the others I've got connected to my Blu-ray player and and AV receiver. So I bought one online - click and collect, paid for it and then left for the store immediately as the email I recieved told me it was available for immediate collection. Off I went on the 30 minute journey, not taking anything but the phone which had the email and reference number. A phone that is protected by fingerprint I might add. When I got there I happily walked into the store, Mr. Manager man was there to greet, asked me if I knew what I wanted there that day, I told him what I'd ordered and paid for and then he said I had to have the last 4 digits if the card with which I paid. I told him I didn't know what they were but that it didn't matter as if they look on my phone they will see the email and the receipt, also the notification from Barclays telling me I had spent £57. On top of that I explained that if they log onto their system and bring up my records (which they can do), I could tell them exactly what I'd bought from them in reverse order, starting with the £1,000 TV I had bought in that very store two days prior. Now I am a pretty easy-going type of person. I get taken advantage of by unscrupulous people because of it but as I've got older I've become far less tolerant of those people and companies who provide a service for which I pay. I hate being rude or crass but am sometimes pushed to it in situations where stubborn and needless behaviour grind my gears, it takes a while and then I just snap. Ok, I should've read the email but I didn't, I also understand the need for security but boy oh boy, it was so simple for me to prove to them who I was and that I was the person who had bought the hard drive. Jobsworths that they are, and a pointless five minutes during which I must have heard the term 'last 4 digits" 10 times, I decided to forget it and have a refund, yes, you guessed it, they wanted my last 4 digits for that too. That was when I decided that enough was enough. I told them, loudly that they were quick enough to take the money and finally having read the email there in front of them, I pointed out that all the information was there apart from how to get a refund. No matter what I told them, how I could prove who I was, how they could prove who I was and that I did actually remember the last 2 numbers of the card, they came out with the same old rhetoric. "We need the last 4....." I stood back from the counter, told them that the hard drive was for the TV I had bought there 2 days ago, and I gave them one last chance to give me my hard drive, they began with the 'we need the last 4 digits...." I interrupted and told them I was going home to get the card and the TV and will be returning both. The lady's face was a picture at that point, stunned silence actually. 90 minutes later I was walking out of there minus 1 TV, minus 1 portable hard drive and plus nearly £1,200 better off. Currys on the other hand had lost that money, lost a customer who had been one for over 30 years, I will never even buy paper from them again. Best part is that not only did they need the famous last 4 digits to process the refund, oh no, they also needed my name, address, email and phone number too, the very things I told them I could provide for them to prove I was who I said I was. On my way out I said , as I passed he manager who was still meeting and greeting, the immortal words of Jack O'Neill, "that's what you get for dickin' around." I regretted that as soon as I said it but I was seriously annoyed. In the car, before driving off home I checked Richer Sounds, TV was same price but with 6 year warranty, bought it, it was delivered the next day, got the hard drive from Amazon for £6 less too.

This is specifically regarding the Pontypridd branch. This needs to be understood. LIARS and THIEVES. When I went to Currys to buy a washing machine, I asked the salesperson whether they would arrange additional deliveries in case I need to move. I made it very clear that it is extremely important to me for additional delivery due to complexity of setup and installation of a washing machine cannot be managed by a simple mover. The salesperson assured me YES they do - all I had to do was to call the customer service with the new address, etc. etc. So I went ahead, as well as purchasing the extension care protection as well... one year later I decided it's not worth it so cancelled the care protection, which took 7 phone calls and 3 months AND cancelling my direct debit in order to confirm the cancellation (they kept taking money out of my account despite the online associate confirming it's cancelled). I had to make sure it is confirmed on Currys side so not to incur potential credit report issues. 1.5 yr later, I had to move apartments. So I called customer service. Guess what? They DON'T do any additional deliveries. I was extremely annoyed. The online associate assured me they will get the store to call me that very same day. Of course - I never heard from them again. So now I'm stuck with an extra problem of managing a heavy washing machine. Thanks alot, Currys. You teach your salespeople to lie at whatever means to get a sale? Bad Currys. Will never work with them again.

Terrible customer service from Currys. I had a faulty product that was within warranty and it was eligible for replacement, but instead they dragged it all out for an entire month. had to keep going back and to Currys to give them my pc for them to 'repair' but their technicians were unable to. took me so long to finally get a refund disgraceful.

Awful service and company. Avoid at all costs. Brought a fridge freezer from them and had numerous issues over the last two years. Numerous repairs that don’t fix the problem. Have spent hours on the phone to team don’t know how. Currys should be ashamed of themselves as it’s all one big con. The Directors of the company failing in their duty and this place should be closed down. A complete joke.

On 2nd Jan 2020 a new kenwood cooker arrived, they took our old one away cost£15.but to our horror the new cooker was badly damaged tried to ring the drivers but they didn't pick up. For nearly 3 hours tried custmers service's,eventually after being told wrong department got the right one her attitude at our dilemma was appalling, was told nothing could be done phone next day to speak to someone, they have now told us our cooker cannot be delivered till Wed 6th Jan. So 5 days without any means of being able to cook hot food, soo now costing us money to order hot meals. We are oap's and have found this so upsetting. How would you like it if I charged curry's for storing the battered cooker in our kitchen, you could and should have a delivery next day Monday.

If buying online be aware that if you pay by PayPal YOU WILL NOT GET MONEY REFUNDED, INSTEAD YOU WILL GET A GIFT CARD. I bought a grass trimmer from Curry's online and paid by PayPal. After a month the trimmer stopped working, I returned this to store, but as the store doesn't sell garden equipment I couldn't get an exchange. All the assistant could offer was a gift card to the value paid for the trimmer. Unfortunately I couldn't order the same again online as it was no longer part of their stock, my choice was to buy something cheaper and lose £5.00 or purchase a more expensive one, the next nearest price was £20.00 more expensive. I ended up reluctantly buying the more expensive one, but not at all happy at having to do this. I paid with gift card and made up the balance by paying by visa.

Poor customer service. I purchased a new tv that had a fault but when i contacted customer services i had to make numerous calls taking over an hour each call before they finally replaced the faulty tv. the 1st operator didn't even complete the returns form so the process had to be started all over again on the 2nd call. the wait times on the calls are unbelievably long before speaking to an agent. however after all that they did replace the tv and its now working perfectly. will definitely be cautious of using this company again for large purchases.

I'm surprised about the difference between your website's findings and what is showing on the Currys website. Could it be that Currys is screening the reviews to make sure that only a few negative ones are showing, thus keeping the percentages up? I certainly can't find a button on my product's page to allow me to add my criticism. The product I bought is such a simple item. It's a 3-way HDMI switch with a remote control. Simple.... except that the remote is almost useless. Trying to get the buttons to operate with my old hands gets me so frustrated that I end up having to get up and operate it manually. It's not that I'm sitting so far away. Surely these things should operate within 2 metres. And so, having an unusable remote totally defeats the whole purpose of me wanting this item and so it is not fit for purpose. Getting a refund is my problem. Yes, their website seems to cover all possible problems and they give adequate answers. For my part, I bought the accessory using PayPal online (lockdown was still strict in Scotland). This means that I can't take the item to my local store to get a refund. If I take it there I will only get a gift card or an exchange, not a refund. As it's not fit for purpose, I certainly don't want an exchange, and I don't want a gift card as I don't trust the products they sell not to be just as shoddy. So, obviously, the answer is to phone the ever-ready-all-answering(!) 0344 561 1234 number that seems to want to hide behind its Coronavirus banner and refuses to answer anyone within an hour. Today I tried again. That menu system is terrible. Does my TV accessory come under TVs or another category? If it had said TVs and Accessories I'd have known which button to press. However, it looks like I chose the wrong one and got through to the wrong department. I must admit the chap who answered had a friendly attitude and offered to pass me through to the correct department. Brilliant! However, after 10 minutes of hearing the continuous ringing tone it suddenly went dead. DRAT!!
