The flavor of the cake was nice. Too sugary it wasn’t fresh — it felt dry and seemed like it was a few days old. For the price, I expected a fresher and softer cake.

Customer service was disappointing. I called them on 2 occasions about different issues, and to be fair there was probably not much they could do. But the lack of empathy and desire to help was noticeable.

These were a gift for a friend who had been in a car accident. Very disappointed that they were just left on the doorstep all day.

However, we do always advise using the DPD tracking link provided in your dispatch email to set any specific delivery instructions. This helps support the driver and ensures deliveries are made according to your preferences. If no instructions are added, drivers will follow their standard delivery protocols, which can include leaving the parcel in a safe place. Delivery driver left the cake on its side so it squashed down, the cake itself was pretty dry. I’m a bit disappointed to be honest.

This was quite a bit of a let down. The sponge was dry and the buttercream was not smooth; you could feel the sugar crystals in the cream. This did not meet our expectations or the quality we expect from Cutter and Squidge.

The cake was delivered on time and also looked beautiful, the only issue is was that it was very dry. Which was disappointing as I was in charge of bringing cake for a special event and no one finished it because it was so dry. Cake was stored how it was recommended, in the fridge and taken out 4 hours before eating.

This particular item didn't meet the usual standards for Cutter and Squidge. It was very dense and didn't taste great. I contacted the team and they responded with great customer service, which is greatly appreciated and highlights what a good company they are.

Unfortunately my afternoon tea arrived with issues (inedible cake mush?!) and I found customer support to be very difficult to deal with. A real shame as I had been a bit fan prior to this.

I ordered a raspberry and elderflower cake but sadly what showed up at my door was a Victoria sponge! No notification of the substitution from C&S so that I would have had the opportunity to cancel/amend my order. Phoned up and they said they had substituted because the cake I ordered was limited edition and no longer available - but was actually still listed for sale that day! They didn’t offer a refund but offered to send out a new cake, which I accepted but in hindsight should have pushed for a refund. The replacement cake was very mediocre and I won’t order from them again after this. Plenty of places do cakes via post these days that are better value and tastier in my experience.
